Mendel lingered in the shadows, his eyes fixed on the old man as he peeled the poster. The sight was a stinging reminder of the weight the cell carried - a weight that usually went unseen by the very people they protected. He had intended to seek out Fenwick at the temple to discuss recent events, but upon entering, he saw the man already deep in counsel with others. Mendel turned away without a word.

There was a bitter irony in the silence that followed their work. The public would never know, even about recent events, such as the bombs dismantled in the city’s heart, the subtle maneuvers that blocked evil-aligned factions from poisoning local politics, or the precise intelligence passed to those in power to ensure justice was applied fairly. The Harpers’ names were intentionally left out of every victory, yet they were the first to be openly targeted when things went awry. Even supposed "allies" had begun compiling lists of their true identities - a warped betrayal that put every member’s life at risk.

Yet, as Mendel adjusted his cloak, he felt the familiar pull of the mission. The camaraderie within the cell was of a level he had never witnessed. it was an unbroken line of trust that didn't require grand proclamations. When he passed a fellow agent, a subtle, nearly invisible nod was all the encouragement needed to keep the fire contained. They were no longer just a small group of watchers; they had become the ears of the world, stretching from the bustling corners of the Sword Coast down into the sunless depths of the Underdark. For Mendel, their nameless vigil wasn't a burden - it was the only way to ensure the song of the world kept playing, even if no one knew who was conducting the orchestra.

Rumours spread that various faction leaders and somewhat influential individuals were seen entering the temple of Mystra. What they discussed is unknown to the general public. Nonetheless, rumours spread among those witnessing and overhearing brief conversations once people left the temple that they were likely referring to: The Cult of the Black Sun. A chest. Pocket dimensions, Rivers End, and something about a relic.

Rumours follow quickly as a procession of 4-5 members of the Mystran temple in Baldurs Gate are seen leaving the hallowed halls. They are seen heading out of the city in full regalia; some of the members were clearly carrying instruments of significant magical power, including staffs and tomes.

Some time later, the same group is seen near a village that has had a lot of eyes on it recently.


Once the group arrives, they set to work, splitting up inside the village, and the sound of ritual magic is heard throughout the day and night till most of them are near exhaustion. Once spent, they would rest within the base used by the Mystrans who were already present to protect River's End.

If anyone were to ask the Mystran guards at River's End, they would be informed that those individuals were there to aid in the upcoming battle in some shape or form.
