Re: Rumors of Roaringshore
Thirsting Shadows
Veshna Varkaâhl:... And the dead shall burn...*Her raspy, out worldly voice crawls as a murmur as her scarlet eyes look to the hung men* "... Misery..."
Sel: "Somethin yer lookin for missy?"
Veshna Varkaâhl: *She points a finger to him, the steel nail right in his direction. Both of her eyes wide open, as a smile portrays a mysterious face.*
Sel: "Eh..me? " *He shakes his head* "Yer nae want me..just a plain ol man." *He side glances to Khadagan* " OI Khadagan...look like a strange one here ..."
Khadagan the Backstabber: *He looks backwards to the woman and shrugs.* " Yer' woman, mate. I ain't touching this..."
Sel: "Eh? Nae my woman, never seen her in me life."
*Crows seem to come at her feet,
and circle around the tree. Their screams are heard.*

Veshna Varkaâhl: "You are playing with the count, are you not? Risky... but would you be a true sailor if you did not? How is life away from the Sea?
Sel: "Could be better, in my opinion..but still...who are you and why you lookin fer me?"
Veshna Varkaâhl: *She pets one of the crows, with her hand, before chasing another.* "I am not looking for you. I have found you. They call me Veshna."
Sel: "Veshna...well alright yer found me..question is...why?
Veshna Varkaâhl: "Destiny? Misfortune? Luck? Spirits? Third Eye? Can you tell?"
Rumors in Roaringshore, might speak of a strange woman that looked like a witch and spoke in a cryptic way. She may have been seen talking to the local bartender and a hin known to live in the Swordarm Inn, and also an outsider a woman that carries a banner of Auril. What they spoke about only five would know, but one noticeable thing since is the increase of crows in the Pirate Village, and they appear hungry.....very ..hungry.
Veshna Varkaâhl: "The blood and shadows are still upon you. Are they from the cave? Yes... Yes."
Sel: *He looks around then back at Veshna* "What can you tell us about the ..Blood and Shadows?"
Solaris Cult: I want to know too! Because those runes appeared in the domain of the Icedawn and my people got questions.
Veshna Varkaâhl: "They are upon you. They wished to mark you. There was horror. But it did not crawl into your mind yet. Not that I can see in your eyes."
Sel: "Oh ..they not happy I manage to escape it?"
Yuutsu Nezumi: *She shakes her head* "Do-do think she-she talk-squeaking about shadow-thing in cave...?"
Veshna Varkaâhl: "Ask yourself... You want your drug badly. And it is taken from you, just as you are about to have it. How do you feel?"
Yuutsu Nezumi: "Like meal-food run-scurry away from Rat..... Rat would be-be many-much angry yes-yes...try-try to track-hunt even"
Sel: "So yer sayin..them Shadows..are goin to be ...lookin?"
Veshna Varkaâhl: "Do you fear them?"
Sel: "Question is..does the Shadows fear me?"
*It was also rumored, that thirsty shadows are hunting for people.*

Re: Rumors of Roaringshore
*From the docks of Roaringshore, people would see the ship known as the Sparrowhawk off in the distance just beyond the reef. It would be noticed that many bright light seems to be radiating from the ship.. Up high on the crows nest, a halfling posted up keeping watch of Village and its surrounding water, and well as keeping a close watch on the every shadows her little eyes falls upon.*

*It would be later below the ship within the Captains quarter's a man soon fell asleep to take a rejuvenating rest for the horrors likely to come within the next tenday.*

Re: Rumors of Roaringshore
An annoying man with a shrill voice could be seen talking to a masked figure in the market place, they seemed to have a friendly enough discussion ending with the annoying one wandering off with purpose while muttering to himself.
It was hours later he returned shuffling along clumsily as he carried a heavy burden of many parchment tubes and cases. He cursed as he tried to throw his cloak around them, hands full with bottles of ink and a bag around his should clinked with more of their number. A few pirates snickered at him as he dropped cases while making his way to the docks, he offered them a scowl as he gracelessly stooped to pick them up.
On the docks he made his way to a small row boat and paddled out into the harbor.

Rumors in Roaringshore
*Near the docks of Roaringshore pirate locals passed by a pair of men talking.
Some might even had heard the mention words "Fang Bearer" in low tones. Between the shady appearing meet, the two figures soon headed off to the Broken Goblet. One man was known as one of the bartenders, the other was a masked individual*

"I also wish to... elay.... One of my concerns..."*Near the docks of Roaringshore pirate locals passed by a pair of men talking.

"elay?"
"Put to rest. Set aside. Give pause to."
"Wot's it in regards too?"
"Fang Barer"? Why do they call you that, anyway?"
*A look of suprise was on his face before he raised a brow then chuckled* "Hmm interesting. Now I'm concerned in whom you been talkin too." *He smiled* "I mean, I've been called that publicly by some...but I'm not sure if others even understand the meanin, but indeed, I can satisfy your curiosity. In the title."
"As I said, we should talk...You should know how tenacious I am, so I could simply keep asking and listening, or I could ask you directly and cut to the chase rather than find out quietly and keep it to myself...I prefer the latter... Mostly because I wish to keep trust with you as much as possible and not secrets from you..."
"My only question is ..is the inquiry for you or is it from someone else?"

Re: Rumors of Roaringshore
Yesterday at dusk, as the sun paused for one last moment just over the horizon of the sea, a tired and exhausted rider finally reached Roaringshore again after almost a moon of travelling.

As she approached the gate, she could barely stay upright in the saddle. As a foreigner, it would be her certain downfall to enter the pirate's nest in such a state, but as she was known here, she was allowed to pass through unmolested - at least for now.
Behind the gate, in a group of cutthroats and good-for-nothings, stood a large half-orc, chewing his tobacco like a millwheel chews flour. Cocky, he stepped in front of the rider and looked at her ... he didn't even have to lift his head.
"Hey, southerner. Thought you were dead. What's wrong with you? Are those white streaks in your hair? And you look like you've been looking straight into the jaws of a beast."
The rider didn't even look up, but rode on slowly. "Aye, a dragon, to be exact. And that costs someone a lot of rum"

Re: Rumors of Roaringshore
Rumors in Roaringshore
Roaringshore, the village of pirates, smugglers, thieves, run o' ways, and whatever other dark being that likes the life of being a free man or woman. The village even had a market, where would-be merchants sale their wares, from fruits , potions and weapons and other things. Theres even an auctioneer in this very market and even a stable. The place is in-between two known establishments that are a lot more than what they appear to be. The Swordarm Inn, a place to rest and sleep, a place for meetings, and a place some traveling mages disappear from, according to old rumors, and on the other side, well thats non other than the infamous Broken Goblet, some would call it a down right rotten pirate tavern, filled with degenerates and filthy black hearted scums. To others, its a place with many stories , many rumors and a savvy bastard of a bartender.
But on the day before last within the market, passerby's and local residence might have heard the heated argument that took place openly near the stables. Oddly enough the topic appeared to be in regards to Amn's Mage Hunters, and the Rebel Arcanists. It would appear, even people in the Shore have a difference of opinion.

Oddly enough the topic appeared to be in regards to Amn's Mage Hunters, and the Rebel Arcanists. It would appear, even people in the Shore have a difference of opinion.
"They had -no idea- what they were doing! They didn't even have a plan, and anytime we got close to something, we couldn't do it because "the law"!
"Wait wait wait...What happen to hunting mage is all the bad thing? Huh? Look at yer arse now , hunting em"
"I said hunting innocent mages and their families, is bad"
"And I told ya hunting criminal ones is wot needs to be done"
"Because you were arguing for the Inquisition who are harming both GOOD and BAD mages"
"please let's not call them by such a title...'
"Let me ask you..do you really think the Inquisition as a WHOLE is bad?"
"Yes."
"They haven't earned it. Let's call them what they are "Witchhunters"."
"The Inquisition is the reason the mages are a problem. They're a direct response to them being a thing."
"Let me tell you beyond any shadow of a doubt... The Amnian efforts are entirely wrong, to the point where it will lead to the deaths of countless innocent's and the destruction of any credibility those who join them once had..."
"All the REAL Inquisition in Amn wanted was for mages to simply register. But no, people too bloody stubborn . Let me ask you this ..all them Refugees people been holding up and feeding and bedding..do you think they all just refugees?"
"Do you think they are all evil mages?"
"Nope and people think im the bad man."
"You do realize that under your description, I would immediately be hunted down... yes?"
"That depends on what you do with your magic."
"It's because they don't push mages into hiding or hunt them down, so they start doing weird shit."
"Your generalizing"
".... Fine line, Sel... Very fine indeed... Perhaps you should go join the Cyricists... I hear they're looking for people with that mindset...."
"I'm not generalizing, that's why I'm willing to help the Helmites hunt and catch the bad mages, not help them put children in prison."
*That alone is service to the Inquisition*
"Ask him, he knows what what bad mage can do to a young 18 year old girl. Go visit the Helmits they got the girls body or whats left of it." *He smirks*
"What can a bad soldier do to a 18 year old girl, Sel?"
"Anything to their imagination. But aint mean ALL soldiers are bad"
"One.. One out of thousands... And the way you're behaving you'll push countless others into their arms out of desperation, and then we'll have more bad mages who simply fell because there was no other alternative...... I'm disappointed in you Sel... You cannot even see the consequences of your actions...."
"No I'm disappointed in that mask that seem to be blinding yer wits. Non of yall people git whats really goin on in Amn. Too busy thinkin everybody trying to do away with magic."
"Do tell us then, Sel."
"I aint explain shit , yall just have to dig the truth fer yerself. "
"And here you are, trying to do exactly that for the sake of your precious security... A pawn in a greater game by a fel power to weaken us all..."
"Are you saying I should go dig around in Amn, as a mage?"
"Weaken you all? " *He laughs* For what purpose? Gain what? Theres nothing for me to gain to be rid of mages."
.... Sel... From this moment forth, my services to you are recinded until such time as you take a penetent quest to redeem yourself... We are no longer friends, and if I see you on the side of those hateful abominations and traitors to the gods, I will---treat you as heretic and traitor to mortal kind.
"Im a simple man with a bloody simple goal. Theres a Mage out there whos hands I'm going to fokin cut off . Any anyone that gets in my way to that goal I will cut their fokin throats."
*She blinked*
"Apologies I must depart... *he glares out of the corner of his eye at Sel.* it would seem knowledge, wisdom and order are no longer welcome here..."
"Nor is blind idiocy. People need to learn facts before they assume shite."
".... Speak not of what you do not comprehend, traitor.."
"Traitor ? Pfft I ain't no fokin mage."
*Many of the local residence however, would continue about their normal day in Roaringshore, for things like fights, arguments and even killings, is quite the normal in the Pirate village that is ruled by the High Captains. For it is a pirates code that makes the order of things within Roaringshore.*
"I think you're buying the Inquisitions' words too literally"
"Am I?..Then I guess folks around the coast didnt know some REAL Criminals ..fled and blended in with the many refugees...."
"Obviously some criminals are going to hide with the refugees!"
"Mhm..so now I wonder just how many others like the one that removed the body parts of a young girl..are out running about workin in the Gate...now I know why more and more criminals mages are out doing their shite. "

Inhabitants of Roarinshore may notice Ontelima presence in the town. Priestess spends most of the time inside Swordarm Inn and occasionally visits Broken Goblet and Umberlee shrine, leaving some donations to Wavelord Bareil.

Long sails lead to longer absence, It was evident that the red skinned pirate was tired.
Hopping off a boat destined for Roaring shores, Re'Drix stepped off with a heavy satchel and damp clothing from his ventures, Rugged in appearance, Had this guy slept? Was the fear of having the dreams spoke of months ago still occuring?
Who knows.
Stepping onto the small dock of the shores, Clicking of his metal heeled boots, The warm smell on noses of the folks he walked past stunk of rum.. smokey hints and salt water as he looked around with vibrant blue eyes for anything out of the ordinary or new, Spotting a few new workers on the docks and pirates here and there.. A smile grew on his lips revealing the fangy teeth as he wandered further into the small town seeking the place that just made everything welcoming..
The Broken Goblet.
Where he made himself welcome for some time before renting a room across the way for a warm bath and long rest.

"...And are you sure it's as close as I asked?"
"Aye, ye can check by yerself, lass. I may have lost me eyes, but me touch works still. And me friends helped. Anything ta help a customer."
"Aye, ye can check by yerself, lass. I may have lost me eyes, but me touch works still. And me friends helped. Anything ta help a customer."
The woman-shaped figure didn't lose any more time, and checked the corpse in the wagon, while the pirate showed a toothy grin. She inspected the "goods" showed by the "merchant", before she nodded again. She looked around, before she left a pouch of gold in his hands.
"You kept your end of the bargain, so I will keep mine. Here's the payment, with a little extra - to forget we ever met."
"Huh? Have I seen or heard of ye before, lass?"
The hint of a smile appeared on the woman, before she carried away the corpse. Where? No one knows yet, for the pirate happily counted all of the gold in his hands, checking the quality of the coins, before he eventually returned to his work, whistling.
All this in Roaringshore, where free men and women are free to do whatever they like... even buying corpses, if needed.

A scoundrel was seen carrying a unconscious, heavily armored dark elf woman out of the Goblet. He was last seen leaving the inn alone. While returning to the Goblet he mumbled while grinning like he won a prize about a "damned chimney elf" and something inaudible about it being worth it. Whatever that means only the scoundrel knows.

The Sparrowhawk once again had its visitors. A meal shared, conversations exchange, if its one thing for certain the Captain of the Sparrowhawk surely knew how to treat his guests. But he underestimated the hungry bellies of halflings, for even his own steak was taken from him even after a whole apple pie was devoured. And for once the wine was gone before the rum.

The Swordarm Inn's owner and employes along with few patrons would had seen a very angry bartender leaving and slamming the door shut after him. He walks through the streets of Roaringshore with a murderous glare. He entered the Broken Goblet and informed Captain Pike that he will be take some time off to handle some personal business.

Re: Rumors of Roaringshore
Fifteen Men and Bottles of Rum
Today in Roaringshore, many of those that make a living of robbing other ships, pillaging villages or raiding settlements would hear the drunken song from one of its well known residence. The singer was not a made performer, nor had he the talents of a vocal artists....

But perhaps the slurring vocals from a lot of rum , manage to make him sound far better than when he isn't drunk
After all, that's one of the many magics of rum. But why the man was singing in his drunken state? Maybe he felt the locals needed some uplifting spirits for the new tide. Maybe, it was to entice passerby's that such a lawless place as Roaringshore, understood how to have fun in their own ways. Or could it be, its a norm when a pirate manages to bring in a good haul or a mass amount of bootie. After all, when a Pirate is not out plundering or raiding, well... they likely ain't a pirate at all. What ever haul the bartender of the Broken Goblet returned with, he payed the nights rounds in the drinking tavern.
"DRINK's on me bois! Yer bartender manage to relieve some of the heavy burdens of plunder from goblins!
So tonite! We drink to get drunk, so we get drunk to fall asleep, because when we fall asleep, we commit no sin, and when we commit no sin, we all go to the Heaven's! HUZZAH!"

"Fifteen men on the Dead Man's Chest
Yo ho ho, and a bottle of rum
Drink and the devil had done for the rest
Yo ho ho, and a bottle of rum
The mate was fixed by the bosun’s pike
The bosun brained with a marlinspike
And Cookey's throat was marked belike;
It had been gripped by fingers ten
And there they lay, all good dead men
Like break o' day in a boozin’ ken
Yo ho ho, and a bottle of rum
Fifteen men of the whole ship's list
Yo ho ho, and a bottle of rum
Dead and bedamned, and the rest gone whist
Yo ho ho, and a bottle of rum
The skipper lay with his knob in gore
Where the scullion's axe his cheek had shore
And the scullion, he was stabbed times four;
And there they lay, and the soggy skies
Dripped all day long in up-staring eyes
In murk sunset and at foul sunrise
Yo ho ho, and a bottle of rum
Fifteen men of 'em, stiff and stark
Yo ho ho, and a bottle of rum
Ten of the crew had the murder mark
Yo ho ho, and a bottle of rum
T'was a cutlass swipe, or an ounce of lead
Or a yawing hole in a battered head
And the scuppers glut with a rotting red
And there they lay -- ay, damn me eyes!
All lookouts clapped on paradise
All souls bound just contrariwise
Yo ho ho, and a bottle of rum
Fifteen men on the Dead Man's Chest
Yo ho ho, and a bottle of rum
Drink and the devil had done for the rest
Yo ho ho, and a bottle of rum
We wrapped 'em all in a mainsail tight
With twice-ten turns of the hawsers bight
Then we heaved 'em o’er and out of sight
With a "Yo Heave-Ho!" and a "Fare thee well"
And a sudden plunge in the sullen swell
Ten fathoms deep on the road to Hell...
Yo ho ho, and a bottle of rum (Ha!)"
