I found this on the Candlekeep site
Toril
Circumference = 23,400 approx
24 time zones
Axial tilt is ~ 19-25 degrees
Prime Meridian is Myth Drannor
Other time zones are based on meridian lines of globe function in Forgotten Realms Interactive Atlas (two per square).
Time zones are 975 miles wide.
Nit-pick -- that is 975 miles wide at the equator of course. This will dwindle down to zero as you approach the poles.
Then I seen this
Excerpted from Ed Greenwood's post in his thread of 31 Dec 2004:
"So (bearing in mind that I can’t speak officially for Wizards), we’re agreed on Toril having a 12 percent larger diameter than Earth (therefore 8,880 miles or 14,280 km). I vote for the same gravity as Earth, so Toril must be about 90% as dense as Earth. I can live with that (as you say, we can assume divine tinkering with the availability of metals).
Adjust the latitude of all base calculations by 1.009, and I agree with your personal choice of 8.1 daylight Midwinter hours for Silverymoon and the axial tilt that results (28°53')."
With this in mind and that most planets rotate counter-clockwise unless something changes that. Is it safe to assume that Abeir-Toril rotates counter clockwise?

How common are Dwarf Bards (Gold)? I was thinking of rolling one so I was wondering whether or not I'll be the black sheep in the "family".

What is the history of human race? Who is their creator? How much of it is known to: Commoners, adventurers, bards, wizards, members of Candlekeep?
Of course, in Forgotten Realms.

PHB 3.5 page 27 wrote:There are no bardic traditions among dwarves, or halflings, though occasional individuals of these races find teachers to train them in the ways of the bard.
Races of Stone wrote:Bard: Among the dwarves, bards are historians and genealogists as much as they are musicians and orators. They inspire their comrades to acts of bravery and valor by reminding them of the great deeds of their forebears. A dwarf’s low Charisma makes bard a tough choice, obviously, but playing against type can be its own reward for players who savor a challenge.

My thanks. Another question - I've seen the topic in the lore section about elven names, but there isn't any mention about their surnames. So, what I'm asking is do Elves use surnames at all in FR setting? Or how common would be for an Elf just to have a name and no surname.
Thanks.

First of all: Wild elves use a different table.
As for the surnames, it is mostly the House they are from. (Aelorothi or Lafreth are both noble houses for example).

Question: Is it lorewise possible to be decended from Slaadi? I mean, could one of your ancestors way back be some kind of Slaad?
Also, does Ygorl have any particular sects or so on Toril? Can't find much info on any of the Slaad lords (other than Forgotten Realms Wiki).

answer to question number 1: yes, absolutely. There is a planetouched race of human with slaad blood in their veins that look like a mixture of human/toad. Obviously they have a very strong tendency to chaos.
Answer to question number 2: as far as I know Ygorl has no organized followers, since organization is totally alien to a slaad lord. HE migth have EXTREMELY few, scattered and crazed followers, but that's it. People are more likely to know the name of a demon lord than of slaadi lords, usually.

Jump in the vortex at the top of the Doron tower, see what happens.

I also heard a theory that etheralness will allow you to view the elemental planes as well. Is this true?
