"Eh? Whadderye want?"

Durin Ironfaar looked up from his ale and boar flank at the young dwarven messenger who stood before him, a scroll held out before him. Durin snatched the scroll out of the young warrior's hand, cleared a spot on the oaken table before him, and began to read.

"Ohooohooohoo! Ah haven't seen em skinny lads in too long. Oi! Messenger!"

Another young dwarf came running to Durin.

"Now lissen lad. Ye be tellin th' king that th' Elves be wantin t' be sendin a messenger t' be talkin t' em!"

"But... but... what if he's busy..."

"Bah lad! This be important. Jus' be tellin 'im!"

The dwarf retreated and ran toward the temporary royal audience chamber.

After a meeting with elven ambassadors from En Dharasha Everae, the dwarves take a request for support and help against an unknown threat in the north. The envoys have been given permission to camp outside the dwarven realm and can be seen going about their daily business while waiting for the dwarf King's response.

After his initial meeting with the dwarves almost a tenday ago, the representative from the Nashkel Trade Emporium has been seen outside the gates of the dwarven settlement. He kindly asks the dwarves guarding the homestead's gate if there is any word from the Council regarding the offer he proposed.

Travellers in the vicinity of the Troll Claw hills may have heard the sound of many horns accompanied by the sounds of battle in the last week. Those who venture through the region would note signs left by the passage of many large creatures.

In the deep gloom something moved. The floor shook and an ancient voice rumbled in the heads of the adventurers. It sounded of ages of hate and malice speaking of events too horrible to fathom, of deeds dark and terrible. The voice made the company live out their weaknesses, their fears. The voice tore at the magical protections woven around them. It tore at their very being. It drew the energy from their very souls, tapping their strenght and turning it against them. The voice was unrelenting, but the line of charging warriors did not waver. They screamed against the onslaught, voicing oaths to their gods and kin. They fell upon the great undead dragon with axe and hammer, dagger and sword. Runes of power glowed on the weapons and their blade and magic rended the beast's rotting flesh and moldering bones.

The battle drew on and individual voices could be heard above the fighting. A strong and noble voice called to the god of paladins and Uriel Honorblade's sword flashed brightly. He smote the beast in the side and a great explosion of energy tore deeply into the undead monstrosity, wounding it greviously. Azoril Ironfaar, Olaf Garaelf and Lady Elvina, knight-commander of the Order of the Silver Rose, called down divine protection and healing on their comrades. The dwarves Revenark, Thromgaard, Durin and Kusin moved in close and chopped at the dragon's underbelly dodging between swiped and bites to land blow after crushing blow.

The dragon fought back. It batted Durin high into the air, slamming him into the opposite wall. After Revenark landed a brutal overhead chop in its flank, it drew on dark magics and while the dwarf's attention was focused on the blow, overwhelmed his will of iron and drew the life from his very body, leaving him pale and limp on the floor. Azoril, Olaf, and Elvina worked feverishly to keep the warriors in the fight.

With a shriek that cracked stone and rained debris down on the company of warriors, the beast reared back as another of Uriel's mighty strikes severed its left front foreleg. Seizing the moment, Thromgaard leapt from a pile of debris and buried his twin blades deep in the neck of the beast. He spoke a word of command and powerful magics deepened the wound. The beast shuddered, succumbing to its wounds, and slowly rocked backwards. Thromgaard rolled out of the way just as the bulk of the dracolich thundered to the stone floor of the chamber.

The deep silence of eternal slumber returned to the halls of the ancient temple. The dwarves and humans used the means at their disposal to revive the wounded and staunch their bleeding.

"Aye lads. Well fought." Durin gasped. "Now lets be lookin fer th' crystal and be leavin' this accursed place."

The others nodded and began to search for the object of their mission. Minutes extended to hours and the company began to fear that their quest was in vain when Revenark Stonehold spied something in the chest cavity of the great dracolich. He pried it loose with the handle of his axe.

"Aye lads. Found something. Have a look."

The dwarves examined it. The stone exuded dark feelings of fear and hatred and tendrils of black energy crackled around it. Olaf Garaelf took the stone and studied it with expert eyes.

"It is the same as the one we found in the lair of the trolls. We should return it to the loremasters and sages of the King."

Eager to leave the place of death and decay the company agreed and set out on the long journey north to the fortress of Kraak Helzak.

The room quiets as King Dovkin Battlehammer rises from his throne of granite and steel. He surveys the crowd, taking in the various factions with their various opinions on the orcs. The dwarven advisors and military leaders look to him.

"We shall march on the orcs."

A few dwarves look disapointed but they are lost in a sea of cheers and bellows. One voice can be heard clearly above the clamor. It is Durin Ironfaar.

"Aye! We be goin t' war lads! Time fer bashin th' stinkin orcs!"

The crowd quiets as the King continues.

"The orcs have pressing our lads hard at the gates and we can spare only a small company of warriors, but we shall march to the aid of our allies."

The king then gives commands to his generals to assemble a force of fifty able bodied warriors to rendevous with the human and elven forces immediately. The halls of Kraak Helzak echo with the sound of ironshood boots ringing on stone. The dwarves are marching to war.

Durin Ironfaar quickly returns to the company of dwarves marching from Kraak Helzak with news of his meeting with the alliance leaders. A gruff dwarven officer approaches him.

"What news brother? What be th' plan?"

Durin scratches his head and tugs his beard, then shakes his head.

"Ah cannae rightly be sayin' lad. Some of th' longshankses wanna be blowin themselves up. Others be talkin bout burnin th' place t' th' ground. Others wanna be poisonin' th' whole river!"

The officer is rendered ucharacteristically silent for a long moment. "Whadderbout jus' formin' up th' defense at a choke point an' bashin th' damned piggies until they all be layin face down in their own filthly blood?"

Durin nodded and clapped the burly commander hard on the back. "Aye lad. Dinna ye warry. Sir Uriel be in charge. He's a good lad. He be th' one what killed th' deed draggin wit me an our kin. He'll be talkin sense int' th' heed o' th' longshankses.

"Aye... ahm supposin we'll see." The commander walked off, shaking his head and muttering to himself.

In regards to black orc attack on triel,

A message never came in time for the dwarves to march to Triel.

The dwarves of Kraak Helzak decided to marched to the east not knowing the status of the black orc army, but were vastly out number by the large number of mercenaries north of Tirel. They decided to try another longer southren route but by the time they reach the outskirts of Triel the village was already lost. The battlefield was chaos with elves and men arguing with each other, running in fear, allowing themselves to be flanked, blowing up anything they could find, setting fields on fire, dropping posion in the nearby river .

Dolinar Stood there shaking his head. The army and he knew the battle was already lost, so instead of sacrificing his dwarven kin they turn around and headed to the north back home to rally for what will surely be dark days ahead.

Back at the keep Dolinar reported the events to king, explaining that the longshanks depended to much on their gods instead of steel and true and tested tactics for the battle, and the elves were arguing and attempting to wage the war themselves ducking in and out of shadows with their bows. The battles were full of religious zealots barking orders at random adventuring bands trying to create order but the adventures didn't follow the orders , the elves trying to order the humans and the humans ordering the elves. The battlefield was nothing but unorganized chaos.

King Battlehammer shakes his head and motions for Dolinar to leave the room...

(since we didn't have a large number of organized dwarves i know their were a couple at event but I wouldn't consider our guild was there)

Moving under the cover of darkness and with all care to conceal his presence, an elven messenger bearing the seal of En Dharasha Everae arrives at the Hall of the Kraak Helzak. He carries with him a message which he says he would give only to the Ambassador Durin Ironfaar. If Durin were to grant him audience..............

"Ambassador, I bring word from your allies the elves of the north, En Dharasha Everae. Ahk'aegis Laisren Ua Tiernan bid me tell you that we remain by the side of the Dwarves in these dark days. We continue to hold our oath to your people as solemn. We received word of the regretful human treachery which befell your people on the road to Triel."

"It is En Dharasha's stance this threat must be removed, to restore our trade and reestablish our vital supply lines to our allies. We would work with the commander of your forces in this endeavor. If you should agree to this, I would return with word to our village, that our Villi Mendel may begin preparations for a strike force. What may I tell our leaders Ambassador?"

The messenger awaits a response......
Laisren Ua Tiernan:

Ambassador Durin meets with the elven messenger as soon as he hears of his arrival. In his haste he spills ale on his beard and a sizeable piece of boar haunch finds its way beneath his breastplate. He does his best to make himself presentable as he hurries to meet the messenger.

Hearing the message of loyalty from the elves and a pledge to work together to clear the northern roads, Durin quickly relays the message to King Battlehammer, who is very pleased to hear the news that they will have aid in re-opening the trade roads to increase the flow of coin into the city's coffers. He dispatches a messenger to the elves of En Dharasha Everae.

To the Most Excellent Proconsul Laisren Ua Tieman,

King Dovekin Battlehammner sends his wishes for prosperous trade and productive crafting. He is honored and pleased that you offer your support in clearing the northern trade roads. He has dispatched his ambassador, Durin Ironfaar to meet with your military leaders to discuss strategies and tactics to defeat our common foe. He does regret that his royal forces are limited as the threat of the trolls still looms and their numbers continueally press our defenses. Nonetheless, the dwarven warriors will aid and bear their share of the patrols. Together we shall grind this foe into the dust from which it came.

So decrees King Dovkin Battlehammer
