The best PvP build is a... Spirit Shaman.
No one believes they are strong, since other builds can get better numbers. And because other builds can get better numbers, even if it is just a +1 to something, it makes the Spirit Shaman look absolutely horrible in comparision. Because the Spirit Shaman as a class just 'sounds so horrible' someone facing one is likely not likely to be very worried about loosing. After all, it is just a Spirit Shaman, so why should anyone even prepare to kill one? They are crap. Worthless.
But let us look at the class little closer, for example my Wisdom based Spirit Shaman:
I have no critical hit immunity, no spell DCs worth a damn, my AB, AC, and damage are barely around the average, and I do not even have the hitpoints of a proper tank!
But what I do have is detection skills, what I do have is spontaneous spell casting and Maximise Spell Metamagic feat. What I do have is the best buffs and 'no save' spells from the Druidic spell list. If your build relies on stealth, I see you coming. If your build relies on ranged attacks, they are all harmlessly deflected by the spinning winds. If your typical melee power house with 28 strength forgot to have that Deathward on, your carrying capacity just fell from 800 pounds to 200, and if you have more than 300 pounds of equipment: you are heavily encumbered. Then I can throw as many Maximised Splinter Bolts; 3 * 24 damage - Maximised Inferno; 12 damage per round - Maximized Icestorms for 90 points of damage - heck even Creeping Dooms could be nasty - as needed.
Yeah, it sounds bit too good to be true. Arcane based builds are still nasty in PvP. Divine Souls and Clerics are still steam rollers, and Druids can technically do all I do better. The spells Spell Resistance and Energy Immunity Acid can make things a lot harder for the Warlocks, since their regular blast should not ignore Spell Resistance anymore.
But the point remains: If you are not 120+% focused on winning PvP, it means you can loose to a Spirit Shaman. It might be a partial reason behind why some do not quite like me all that much.
