The NWN1 Create Greater Undead summoned a Lich, but it wasn't as great as it sounds.

Nope, just a Lich that spammed Fireball and Cloudlkill.

Morte was far from a demilich - which is likely why he still possessed an emotional core along with a sense for tragedy and humor.
The Pillar of Skulls was a fantastic concept - far better than the pale imitation known as the Wall of the Faithless. But then Planescape: Torment is, arguably, still the best written CRPG to date.
"Forked-Tongue told me that a pillar made of sages, liars and traitors might have the answers I seek concerning my mortality..."' - journal of The Nameless One
The Pillar of Skulls sprouted from the center of a clearing, ringed on all sides with craggy mountains whose peaks pierced the sky. The Pillar itself had the bile coming up to my throat... this horrible, towering, pulsating thing. Loathing churned my stomach, and a faint sense of familiarity prickled at the edges of my consciousness. The innumerable rotting heads which made up the vast pile constantly shifted and throbbed, alternately bickering, weeping, conversing, shouting and whispering to one another. Heads constantly bubbled to the surface of the stack from somewhere within its foul core, while others sank back into the grisly pillar. They stacked towards the sky: a string of stinking orbs that were less like bone and more a collection of pus-filled boils, layered over one another into a diseased foam that begged for a lancet to burst them.

perhaps not. but though he was pulled from the pillar of skulls, he's pseudo undead, and a floating skull. you cant tell me that he wasn't inspired by a demi lich. floating skull=floating skull

I would love to lock this thread since the topic comes up every single month, spans 4-8 pages each time, and the same people give the same responses on the Dead horse topic. Please try to keep it somewhat consolidated.

If the mods want to lock the thread, I am okay with it. The poll seems to have conclusive results.

PM undead should not be the same as normal undead summons because then there is little reason to take PM
summons are "underpowered" because when people want them fixed they want things like duration fixed instead of the actual undead, so duration is boosted and summons are back to the bottom of the list and the problem remains
and the original 10th lvl PM were suppose to be 16HD, that would have made them impossible to be destroyed by turning, could still be turned, but no instant death, and with that comes more abilities and such
but yea at this point im with mouse on this one

Well, the inherent immunities and extra AC granted by the class are not too shabby. I don't believe anyone ever took PM because of the summons.(and this goes back to my NWN1 days)

yea half PM dips for the AC are common, which is why the top half of PM should have some sort of perk to it
which just goes back to PM CU and GCU should be better than the normal versions, if they are the same then why take the last half of PM? crit immune and the loss of caster levels?
you could stop half way and get full caster level, and crit immune thru stone body if you really needed it
