Re: The Church of Mystra RP
A burst of energy erupts behind the altar in the temple and a green-clad woman clinging onto another brown-clad scruffy girl materialise out of no-where. Priestess Aeili would lay Sparrow down on a bench before going to get changed and when she returns to tend to the rather exhausted little bird, not as easy a task as she first thought.

Re: The Church of Mystra RP
Once word of the encroaching mass of undead reaches the Mystran priestess' ears she begins moving with a determined sense of urgency. She runs about some of the local places where she has friends, looking especially for Lady Cecilia Lafayette in the Helm and Cloak, Brother Ameris Santraeger in the Temple of Ilmater as well as Watchknight Sveta Asperan in the Temple of Helm. She would also briefly stop by Endelyon's house to see if she is at home, as well as informing Telia Navra if she is also in the Temple of Ilmater. She reports that they must make a move to Kheldrivver immediately and, having been to Kheldrivver before, she will be utilising a Greater Teleport from her sanctuary within the hour so that they might get to Kheldrivver post haste.

The Mystic knight Rashal arrives at the temple grounds early in the morning. After his morning prayers to Mystra. He makes his way around the compound inspecting every aspect of it.

A male approaches the inn, dressed in a fine tunic of elven make. An eye patch covers his right eye and he walks into the temple with the utmost reverence and respect. Ensuring he steps softly as to not disturb this holy ground, he slowly makes his way to the altar, dropping on one knee and whispering a prayer in elven. He then places a tithe in the donation box before approaching the Priestess Neela.
"Salutations this day Servant of Mysteries,
I am afraid I am here on business, though temples such as these are always a pleasure. I am told there is a Priestess here...a Tel'Quessir Priestess. Do you know of whom I speak of? Inquiries amongst the arcane circle say she is an adept into the divination arts."

It would not be long before the golden-haired diviner made her way into the Temple carrying a basket filled with a variety of spell components. She would offer a welcoming smile to the visitor and fixate her turquoise-eyed gaze upon him before addressing him in her high woven tones.
"Welcome cousin. Sister Neela said you were inquiring for me? I am Priestess Aeili, a servant of Mystra here in this temple and a diviner indeed. You have much to say so please sit; fill my ears with whatever lays on your heart."

"Greetings cousin,
I am Aias Aelumil from Evereska, newly arrived to this city, and have come seeking sage guidance concerning those learned in the Art. I am eager to further my knowledge but I admit, I am...stunted. Is there a network in this city utilized by those most learned where I can seek to further my knowledge?"

Re: The Church of Mystra RP
The priestess contemplates upon his words before offering her answer to his inquiry in her respectful Elven tones.
"There was once an organised guild of magi operating out of the city some years ago but a history of irresponsible use of magic saw their eventual demise and outlawing by the hands of the rulers of this city."
"Since then there have been no concrete plans to formulate a similar association of arcane spellcasters. However, all of the city's arcanists are welcome to seek guidance and training from this temple, an invitation I would extend to you as well, Aias of Evereska."
"The Temple is currently formulating plans for a renovation of the interior, insofar as we intend to more fully equip ourselves with a laboratory and expanded private quarters for visiting clergy from other regions. We are also entertaining a discussion about purchasing the rather dilapidated warehouse which sits behind the Temple grounds and to convert it into a School of Wizardry and Bardic College. This idea is still in the raw planning stage and we have not yet made it terribly public, but it is something we are moving towards in the coming months."
The blue-robed priestess paused for a moment to gauge his reaction.
"Did you have any questions regarding these matters?"

The elf ponders for some time, obviously surprised by the news of the construction plans. He stands for a moment before realizing the priestess was addressing him still.Tsidkenu wrote:The priestess contemplates upon his words before offering her answer to his inquiry in her respectful Elven tones.

"Ah yes...I have heard of the previous dabblers in magic here in the city. Tis a shame, really. The effects of their actions, as mirrored in the demeanor of this city's people, are evident. Tis not a wonder why the stores of Sorcerous Sundries lay filled."
"Do many of the arcanists study within these walls, Lady Aeilli? I am interested in knowing how the temple can further one's understanding with the Art. The school the temple is intending on building can not help but benefit this city's hesitance...should it get approval to be built, that is. I think therein would lie your challenge. Who would your instructors be?"

Re: The Church of Mystra RP
The blue-clad priestess gracefully heard out Aias' questions and proffered a faint smile at his apparent eagerness.
"The ranks of Mystra's faithful are not many in this region, I admit," she answers him in between what would probably appear to be spasmodic blinking. "There are at least four who profess faith in Mystran ideals who come by here regularly, and we were recently graced with the visit of a paladin from Mystra's knightly Order. But as you are surely aware, the study of magic is restricted to what sometimes seems to be a priveledged group and the city of Baldur's Gate is certainly no exception. Unlike our kinsfolk, many humans have difficulty comprehending the greater mysteries of the Art, although those that do tend to be very dedicated and are consequently some of the best arcanists I know."
"The Temple thus serves to promote a balanced and responsible pursuit of the Art in accordance with local laws. The Mystran faith is primarily personal; our devotees are only required to offer an enchanted item for sacrifice but once per month and we celebrate no communal holy days or festivals. Instead, we, the clergy, endeavour to foster a respect of the Lady's gifts, to employ them in such a manner that befits humility and reverence of our priveledge, and most of all to continue to plumb the mystery of magic."
"In this last regard the Temple can offer our initiates access to our depository of arcane lore, assistance in spell research, and on occasion access to rare spell components or magical items," she remarks with a warm smile.
"In terms of our school of magic, I do not think we are at a stage to consider staffing without first having approval for its construction from the Duchy. But if I were to entertain a moment of foresight I would hope to have at least one specialist of each of the schools of magic to teach our prospective students, in addition to classes on history, alchemy and creation, as well as teachers for what I hope to be a college of music."
The priestess pauses once more, ready to hear any further comments and questions there may be.

Re: The Church of Mystra RP
The elf's facial expression ranges from pleased to fascination, as he listens to the high priestess.
After she is finished, he takes a pause before responding:
"Tis a splendid idea, Lady Aeili, and I commend you and the faithful of Mystra. It is an ideal environment for one new to calling on the Weave, under such commendable principles. Tis similar to what is taught at the Evereska College. Endless possibilities tempered by responsibility. To know the gift of Mystra is to know restraint when and where it is needed. The goals of your faith are similar in spirit as mine. I have much to ponder on, for now. And I thank you for your wisdom. You have provided for me a wealth of information that I hope I can return to you that favor some time."
"I realize I have taken up much of your time. I will leave you to your duties, if perhaps you do not have any inquiries of your own?"
He stands there smiling, obviously pleased with the information received.

"I do have a few things to attend to at the moment but your visit has been delightful. I hope you will visit us again. Perhaps we make speak of other matters in the future, such as your journey here from Evereska. I have made the same journey myself," she adds with a smile.

"I would truly enjoy that Lady Aeili. Few things I enjoy talking about more than the Vale"
He smiles, bows to Lady Neela as well, and departs the temple.

A nicely dressed young woman slips into the temple, moving with all the care of a three-legged mouse in a cat show. She glances around before quietly edging up to place an envelope on the end of the foremost pew before turning to leave.
The cover of the envelope has a simple doodle of a fat little bird with a wing held off to the side. Below is written:
To Priestess Aeili

The blue-robed elf makes her way from the Temple with letter in hand. As she passes through the Wide she bumped into a few familiar friends and stopped to chat. After a little while she noticed Sparrow standing by in the courtyard of the Elfsong so she approached her and after a few pleasantries and introducing her to Charraj Cain, she handed the finely attired lady a folded and tied parchment with a smile, and then said she would stop by the bank after tending to some other business first.

Re: The Church of Mystra RP
The Mystran priestess makes her way back into the temple a few hours after leaving, wearing a look of satisfaction mingled with hopefulness. After going through her evening duties, she spends the rest of the night in her private study consulting a wide selection of tomes detailing the subjects of transmutations and conjurations.
