No they shouldnt have, at all. The downfall of Star Wars was when George took to directing them himself, as a result we have this kid franchise with grossly overrated movies that have the most horrible line delivery in my life time and a whole line of good actors falling from grace.

Lucas selling and Disney buying might be the only redemption for the franchise if JJ Abrams can deliver, which I personally think he can. Its a massive undertaking making an actual follower to the original trilogy, but I really have my hopes up for this project it looks amazing so far.
Yes, yes it does! If Lucas had made 7, 8, and 9 it would probably have made Star Wars fans want to pull their eye teeth out with some pliers. How anyone who loves the franchise could not be excited by this...

... is beyond me.

You mean like Star Tours? You know, that ride they opened at Disneyland when George Lucas was in charge... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Tours

But don't worry, I found a version of the trailer for you Lockie:

We'll let you know how awesome the Lucas-free version is 24 days from now! Well... I wont, as I'll probably be too busy watching it 3 or 4 times >.>

Bah Darth Bane was the greatest Sith Lord. Revan may have been more powerful but Bane is the one who thought up the rule of two which allowed the Sith to (temporarily) defeat the Jedi and hold dominion over the galaxy... albeit for a short time. The fact that he single handedly wiped out the entire Sith order by himself also speaks to his power. Only the greatest could take on every dark lord and defeat them all as effortlessly as one might step on ants.
