If it's just a matter of quality over quantity...buy elixirs at CL30.

But that still does nothing to address the OOC limitation that does not get explained!

What in Faerun allows strength-of-magic to exist in elixir form, but not on scrolls?

Well, from a mechanical perspective it lessons the abilities of scars or runes of every mage can make higher CL scrolls as well as the ability of master alchemists, which is a big deal since they only have one thing they get.

IC, I suppose you could say the scrolls are the limitation. They can only hold so much power within them. Or whatever.

So this judgement call is in order to protect or give value to a single Class, the Master Alchemist?!?

What is QC's justification to allow CL30 elixirs, but limit scrolls to 15/17? Why can 1 option be undispelable, while the other is far too easily dispelled?

Imho, nothing craftable should be allowed CL 30—that "weakens" the actual Caster in realtimeexistence. This is why I've consistently argued for a CL25 cap, which is a fair percentage on risk v. reward concerning magic.

It's About balancing wands vs scrolls vs potions. Currently with the changes they are balanced by:

- Wands are cheapest and most convenient from am inventory perspective, but only go up to 4th level.
- Scrolls are cheapest, and can be purchased in smaller uses and are the only consumable for 8th and 9th level spells, but require more umd or to be class appropriate.
- Potions are most expensive but do not require um and can be cl30, but only go up to level 3/ 7 with MA.

Each consumable had a niche. Empowering scrolls will grant them more benefits over potions or wands.

Remember that you can't use many elixirs at the same time, even with two you can be intoxicated (the details escape me now but either way you can't chuck them like normal potions).

Sorry Chad, but that hardly answers my question, which is: what is the OOC reasoning behind limiting scrolls to CL 15/17?

Potions are free to use by every PC type. The awesome advantage. Elixirs are CL 30 but can poison you from overuse. Scrolls require UMD, can fail and cost you money, but fail to provide nondispelable benefits.

Why you hate scrolls so much!! Lol.

Has this actually been implemented? So far I've seen messages but nothing that indicates it actually happens.
