After a while the halfling notices other people contacting the seller wiht rhymes and poems.
He tries to attract his attention with one of his own:
Oi Fella' i need that blade
Without it i wont get laid
Ladies love gold and jewelery
They dont dig the poor Merry
I'll give you 5000 coin pieces
I dont like chicks with creases
Help me out be a nice lad
Sell me that dagger or i'll go mad

"A ha!," responds Artim.
"There are things that we want
And things that we get
Yet to get the things we want
Sometimes we have to make a bet.
So I propose a gambling affair, if you do dare...
Or, you may choose the safest route.
The plain option is this: you pay ten bags of coin.
The daring option is so: a flip of the coin, and shall it be heads
You pay only five bags, as you offered.
Shall it land tails...then you pay fifteen bags.
Further still, you may simply walk away from this fate!"
Artim gives a small chuckle at his last comment. Then, he waits to here the halflings response.

A man in dark green outfit wearing a large backpack with a number of items sticked to it, stands in the background and looks at the store. Quite surprised to notice how the deals are done, he builds up courage and attempts to get the attention of Artim.
My name is Rain, and I promise I am not here to deliver pain.
This seems to be a merry shop, you have some wares that makes my jaw drop
You have a certain ring, that will much joy to me bring
I wish to buy your "Ring of the Knight", as it will give me great might
I will offer you 25 large, I hope you don't think this is a farce
So 25 bags of gold
I hope that will make you say "Sold"

Maquin approaches Antim and in a weary voice says:
"I have a riddle for you"
"Hands I do not have, yet I grasp so tight.
I love darkness, my enemy is light.
Both the mighty and low know me well,
For in the hearts of men do I dwell!"
He folds his arms and awaits a response.

Artim's delay in response to the Rain's rhyme may be faulted, but hopefully forgiven—time sometimes stands still, upon the Sword Coast.
Nevertheless! Artim reacts now quickly to the query:
"Your offer is fine
But if you do not mind
I must take first a gander.
For the Ring of the Knight
While it offers great might
Is small, and seems to taken a wander.
In this pouch or that
All my pockets I will pat
And then, I will know the remainder."

Artim spends some time looking at the figure of the being waiting, arms crossed. It may be that Artim spends more time parsing this pose, than the actual riddle.....
"You speak of fear, good sir...and I answer quickly, for I know solidly that I am right in the response. One does not gamble with such an emotion...for it drives man and beast alike, in many a form and decision."
Artim relaxes a bit in body, now. "Now that I have solved your riddle...do you want something from me?"

Without a rhyme, riddle or poem presented, Artim will not answer, nor...with the person even know what exists in the Kabinet of the Mind.

"For all yours airs that is an astute answer it shows more wisdom than I would have expected"
He pauses before continuing look thoughtfully at a necklace on display.

"How about 10 bags for it"

Artim rustles through his pockets and patting down the inner layer of his clothing, until...yes, it seems he has found what he was searching for. He digs out of some layer of sewn in fabric a small blue-ish metal ring.
"It is your lucky day, friend. I guess Tymora favors you this day. Now...do you have that twenty-five bags of coin promised in exchange?"

"Yes, yes, yes!
It is quite the best
To remain at piece
Against so many powerful spells, you may resist!
But this you should know
Ten bags is too low
For other merchants will tell you, surely
The lowest one sells if for thirty."
Artim crosses his arms and smiles.
"You willing to pay that, sir?"
