Does anyone know if the damage bonus from Deadly Defense is incorporated into the Daggerspell Mage's bonus to melee touch & ranged touch attack damage from their daggers?

I don't believe so, but Valefort would probably be able to comment without the need for testing as he recently worked his magic to get elemental damage from daggers to apply to dagger cast.

Can someone please test if Weapon Finesse feat and a Melee Touch attack(arcane spells specifically), work together?

For example. Does Shocking Grasp use Weapon Finesse modifier in the AB calculation.

I tested the Melee Touch Attack spells in the character module creator provided on these forums and they did not work together. The nwn2 wiki corroborates this finding, for the base game. It's a little annoying, considering 3.5 rules appear to allow these two to function together.

An earlier post claimed they DO in fact, work together on bgtscc: viewtopic.php?t=41537&p=535963

There's an updated script from Reeron & Trekari (09/2014) that encompases this fix. It's possible that bgtscc implemented this in the past: https://neverwintervault.org/project/nw ... provements

No they don't work together, in that respect we're using vanilla NWN2 spells. After looking up this pack it seems the author doesn't provide all the sources for his changes which is quite unfortunate, can't use it.

Does anyone know if Greater Spell Extension works with extend spell? This spell just confuses me lol. Do I cast it before buffing, after buffing, or do I need to do some guesswork and try to cast it before my short-term buffs wear off (Like haste)?

you cast it before buffs expire. Casting it right after you buff sets writhing to round/ level which is a waste of you hour/ level, 10 min/ level and minute/ level buffs. However, if you mostly use minute/ level you could set a timer to cast it a few seconds before your buffs expire to get an extra 3 minutes (at level 30).

Not sure if it can be extended, I can test whenever I get in game next time.

The images that were once linked in here are now down... viewtopic.php?p=623226#p623226

Could they be retaken and perhaps also added to the new wiki?

It looks like the image hosting site (photobucket) has stopped hosting them (perhaps because the account that took them lapsed?).

As such, they would need to be retaken and hosted on a more reliable host (such as the wiki).

I'd like two things tested:

First, exactly what is the counter to NPC dispelling? My character isn't a mage, that's for certain, but he's level 17 and casting protection from alignment from the helmet of greater helm of opposite alignment, and it's dispelled every single time. With only three charges per day, it lasts all of three fights in the sharpteeth woods/cavern. Does converting the look do something to it that makes it weaker then it should be?

Second, what exactly is the resistance of enemy NPC mages to getting interrupted while casting? I'm hitting them for between 18 and 30 damage with a halberd and they STILL complete their casting and throw it at me. I realize they've got some concentration, but unless I critical them (which often outright kills them) they seem to never break in the sharpteeth woods/cavern.

1) There is a dispel fix on the server. Your HD is no longer used to counter dispells, but rather the spell level of the wand, scroll, or the item with the uses. It is likely that your helmet only has the caster level of five on it, and that makes it very easy to dispel. You either need to get more of these helmets to get more casts per day, or start using a wand which will likely be dispelled just as easily. If you got UMD and the coin, it is possible to purchase a Staff of Defense from Sorcerous Sundries that should have something like 16 uses of the spell.

2) The enemy casters get a 1d20 roll on top of their concentration skill. I think the Orc Mystics might be CR 9 creatures, so I would not be surprised if they had base 12 concentration skill and whatever else they get on top with their constitution modifier. Thus they just have to roll high when your damage roll is high. And if they started casting before you reached them, then it is also possible that you missed the window to deal damage to force a concentration check.

You could try to charge the enemy, or perhaps increase your damage with feats like Power Attack or Northlander Hewing. If you have Frenzied Berserker levels, it makes more sense to use Improved Power Attack to get that +20 damage per hit. But if you have not gone for Frenzied Berserker, you should not underestimate the effect of Northlander Hewing. It maximises your weapon damage dice, and gives your strength modifier as extra damage on top. Hence, your damage rolls should be nearer to 30 all the time, and this means that the orc mystics need to constantly roll high on their concentration not to fizzle with their spells.

Oh, did Northlander Hewing Maximise the extra Piercing damage from Duelist?

Just tested, duelist bonus piercing damage is not maximized when Northlander Hewing is active.
