wiki wrote:Retired Character Rebuild (RCR) Rules:[edit]
The NPC allows you to store your character's experience based on the level of the character, delete the character, and then reclaim that experience on a new character.
Once a character is deleted, it cannot be restored.
You cannot store experience from another character until you reclaim the previous deposit. If you have a previous deposit the NPC won't even talk to you.
You can only reclaim stored experience with a character that has less than 100 XP.
The experience reclaimed from the NPC cannot raise your character past level 20!
You are responsible for transferring / muling your own items and gold from your old character to your new one. Please do not ask DMs to help you with this.
Below is shown the percent of XP you get back based on what level you are when you RCR. Reminder that you can never start higher than level 20 when you RCR and 3b20 rule must always be followed. Level 1-10 characters will receive 100% of their experience back! For those higher than level 10:
11 = 95% / 12 = 90% / 13 = 85% / 14 = 80% / 15 = 75% / 16 = 70% / 17 = 65% / 18 = 60% / 19 = 55% / 20+ = 50%
Okay, so 55% of 175k is like 96k experience. What level is that?
EDIT: I bookmarked your build btw. Saving my RCR for after they add those longbeards into the server for half-elves.

In case anyone was curious what a Drizard is...

Ignore some of the text...the original build split was like 5/5/13/7. Without Harper in the picture.
It's far more fun and interesting.
Just something to think about with Harper mage builds.
Remember it is not a Harper agent, does not need diplomacy 8 as a pre req.

I wouldn't worry too much about losing 5 levels pre-epic. With the changes to XP you can gain like 5-7,000 XP per hour just running around Kro's Labyrinth or somewhere similar (CR16). It's when you hit level 20+ that XP gains slow to a crawl and become brutal.

Or perhaps you could go butt heads with the Phase Spiders and Treants on Westernmost part of Cloakwood. Just have concealment, mirror images, stoneskin, etc... And Spam Fireburst, regular and greater. (Collect a mob of them first with haste...)
Not to mention that after reset, you will have no quests done... So you could do something like this right off the bat as well:
225 exp, Help farmer Thom in Eastern Farmlands.
600 exp, Help the Billberry Lady in Eastern BG,
750 exp, Maltz Errand in Eastern BG,
750 exp, Ore samples in Eastern BG,
650 exp, Wyvern egg in norther BG,
550 exp, Orc head in Docks of BG,
800 exp, for finding halfling key north of Beregost,
300 exp, for finding a Badger in Beregost,
850 exp, for running some pelts for supplies from Nashkel,
750 exp, for talking some sense to halflings in Soubar,
500 exp, for helping out some merchant in Soubar,
300 exp, for killing some rat nests in Soubar...
= 7,025 exp.
There are more quests... such as the mushrooms you could do on your way, and the newbie guests in BG for additional 1-2k of experience. You might even be able to do the imp guest from Wood of Sharpteeth, for what 600?
This should put you to level 15 in just a matter of few hours.

Thanks, man. I'll definitely get it done. It'll be worth the RCR anyway.

Good luck... Doing quests tends to make me fall asleep at the keyboard or just get fed up and go do something else... As boring as grinding mobs is I still find it preferable to quest grinding. Plus I did the math and if you go to an appropriate CR area (within 1-3 CR of your levels, preferably 1 higher) you get XP Faster by killing mobs than you could by speed running quests. Only works until you hit level 20, once that happens your only real option for XP gain is to grind the weekly quests out.
