Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

Count me in. Put me on the good side. I play that more readily than any other faction and have ease in doing so. I have a PC already ready for this as well.


Just looking to have fun and create RP for others.

im down with a wish. i am really ok with any plot tbh. but it could also be a million gold. and this is funded by the characters as each (12) coins steal 7k gold every month from its holder. at the end of 12 months that would be a little more than a million. so the coins are a curse but if you can have all of them you will be a millionaire.

dont mind a wish as i will likely retire the toon when it is over. if he lives and all.

Added Calodan (cheers!) and Tekill to Good-ish Faction. That leaves us short of 2 players for Good, and at least 1 more for Neutral (and possibly what role Neutrals will play is swaying the winning side through either persuasion/manipulation to support, or just downright attempt to take the Neutral's Token!

I'd also add that, there might be openings in the future for new Players to join at the higher levels, if it is either in the form of Player replacement, or it's a 1-per-Faction increase (3 new Players), as example. Just an option!

I offer to concretize the few basic rules generated for this Player Campaign. So if anything needs to be said, get those points/desires posted soon!

All of that seems fun. I'd be interested for a spot on the A-Team. I mean the good aligned team.

My only qualm with this entire suggestion is that it seems to sideline the metaplot already prepared (presumably?) for us for this year by the DM Campaign Co-ordinator. Has the paucity of DMing been that evident in the last 12 months that you now have to go and come up with your own campaign for the year instead of plugging yourselves in to what the DMs have planned for us?

Wow. I could say a whole lot about that statement, but I'm not going to. My mother would say if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all. Seems irrelevant anyhow. Hopefully the DM's will actually do a meta-plot this year and hopefully it will be great. That doesn't mean we cant do our own thing also.

I was thinking last night it would be nice if the factions don't start out as enemies or as factions at all. Rather everyone would start as sort of a single group drawn together by the coins and there desire to discover what they mean. Then as time goes on the good guys are likely to start to see the evil guys for what they are and vice versa. At that point the factions and conflict can form naturally.

The big advantage to this is that we get to RP more with each other right from the start. Especially in the early levels. We can form friendships or grudges and learn about each others characters before it's all out war. Also we can schedual times ooc to meet up and just do some old fashion RP dungeon crawling together under the guise of discovering things about the coins. Maybe the kobalds know something? Maybe there is a secret hidden in the graveyard. Ect.. ect..

Yes, Mac. Your ideas are golden. Run with it. There is plenty of RP in just the "meeting" a coin bearer. Finding out either obviously or subtly whether they will be Good/neutral/Evil faction in the near future, is part of the fun.

We painted a bunch of OOC info so far, but playing that out IC will be the fun of it!

I think I'm gonna go back on my involvement. Stuff happening and I'm not sure how involved in something I can be atm.

I've been reading through this thread, and so far I love the majority of what I'm seeing!
If I was sure of my availability I would roll and join any of the factions, preferably an alignment that I'm not used to, cause I like the challenge.

Oh, and this:
In regards to Perma-Death the 3 strike rule is a solid one and fits very well here for our campaign. Should a character die the player can always make a new warrior for their faction with an appropriate level, if we are doing the level restriction thing.

Great Idea! And rolling a new toon from a rcr is also a good opportunity for rp. After all, your friend, who may have less training but always admired you, laments your loss, swears vengeance and takes up your cause, perhaps even putting on your gear to honor your memory.

We are very close to making this happen.

4 or 5 Evils / 3 Neutrals / 4 Goods. I'm tempted to just accept a 4/3/4 split and call it GAME ON! But since I'm currently dying from a head cold, I can easily wait a few days for some more good news (ie, more interested Players!).

Any thoughts of a regular & scheduled playtime yet ?
(Groups like this tend to fall apart quickly, if players don't meet each other.)
