I'm not upset but tired of your attitude, being met with incomprehension or bad faith at best and dismissal at worst is not enjoyable in the long run. I feel I'm talking past you and won't continue for much longer. Do you think every argument that was posted in this thread against this suggestion hold no merit ?

1. It encourages logging off, playing on an alt or going AFK.
2. It allows suicidal plays with no consequences.

I can see how you thought it was a good idea at first : it's rooted in your lone playstyle with little or no alts where it would indeed still be fairly punitive, however it really doesn't hold up for everyone and you're not alone. In conclusion this is a bad idea.

Such an idea could work, but only with some specific criteria. Namely, if you log off your only option is to pay the XP penalty when coming back in game. However, it would make sense (IMO) to do something like 2 minutes per level where if you DO stay logged in and no one comes by to pick up your corpse / rez you then you can respawn with no penalty. This requires staying logged in (though admittedly would allow someone going AFK, which is where the downside comes IMO). Not sure, but I do like the idea of rewarding allowing for RP situations to happen (i.e. getting rezzed by some other party/adventurer which can and has resulted in RP for me that was rather enjoyable.) Just like any suggestion it has merit, but there is too much room for OOC exploitation. The counter to that is there is such room for exploitation today via sending tells to buddies. I'm sure DMs punish when they catch it, but it's not likely easy to catch unless you're looking for it (and honestly there are a LOT more fun things I would prefer DMs spend their time on.)

Take a break then.

Not very different from curent scheme. Right now suicidal gameplay is encouraged when you've just leveled up and can't lose xp, and same goes regarding sitting in the fugue AFK - someone might find your corpse and raise you.

A lot of this stuff has been addressed on second poage of this thread while responding to AoS.

Doesn't. "You can't play" is a consequence.

And then they say they aren't upset.

Take a break.

Negs, you are now being plain and simply rude.

Take some advice from someone who can be an arsehole: DON'T BE AN ARSEHOLE!

Sure, but "just leveled up" doesn't last long while your suggestion add another suicidal venue as I outlined previously the death run just before logging off.
Doesn't. "You can't play" is a consequence.
You can't play that character rather, and I'll have you know that most players have alts.
And then they say they aren't upset.

Ok, ok.

Dude !!!(!!!ยงยง!!!! (!!!))

You spam the forum with how you play and how lonely you are when you do, I have eyes and can read. It's totally fine, I was just using the bizarre skill of putting myself in your own shoes, looks like I shouldn't. You made me laugh though !

Let's all just take a break. If someone has a related idea they'd like to discuss politely, it can be reopened later.
