There's a lot of things wizards wouldn't do that somehow still occur in this server.

And Warriors would not wear their armor unless actively going to battle and people wouldn't sit in the rain and talk when there is a tavern right next to them...

Why are we so focused on casters? Oh right because the wards look terrible... so let us make them invisible!! =P

More seriously keep the spells with visible bufffs coming guys :)
You make me so sad...

But seriously can we get the visual effect for spider skin removed? It's supper buggy and turns you all white. It's supposed to help with stealth but Instead it makes you sparkly and bright white...

Camafalge doesn't do this...please please remove the visual for spider skin....

Only if in conjunction with stoneskin. Spiderskin is the only way one can avoid being called a drow as a shorter elf with white hair after casting stoneskin.

Blasphemy! What about all the people that are out to get your caster?
Steve wrote:Look, it is all screwed up. There shouldn't be THIS MANY adventurers on the Sword Coast.
As I said before, the best explanation for the bgtscc insanity is that it is not a swordcost or aber/toril, despite everybody thinking so. Then it all makes snese.
Steve wrote: So what do you prefer? Full on open do what you want even if it fully disregards FR Lore and the basic sense of realism EVEN in a fantasy world? Or maybe, you can put up with a few scripts that hopefully help make Players aware of employing some believability into their actions when IC?
I would prefer to blow up FAI and replace it with a flaming crater.

There is no realism in fantasy setting. And I won't put up with any scripts, which break believability of the setting. Putting a script is a lazy and poor design.

Actually adding a script to area makes it less attractive for visiting. At the moment, there is a very good reason to actively avoid Beregost, FAI and Baldur's Gate because of them.

Come up with a better idea that makes the world believable and alive with actual people living in it, rather than installing invisible walls that godmod you.

One other thing you may not be aware of is that current dispel scripts have a tendency to also break innate abilities, one of them is hellfire shield. When nexus had anti-casting script, it would routinely would wipe out "hellfire aura" feat which makes hellfire shield work. Scripting approach will simply cause more bugs.

An example of a decent script design are guards that patrol the areas near dragon's bridge and baldur's gate. Those at least try to maintain illusion of being somewhat alive. A dumb dispel upon entrance has no agency and no personality associated with it, and no lore. Therefore it is a poor measure installed to combat a non-problem.

As I said, come up with something that has a shred of lore behind of it, and actual in-game explanation, and not just OOC script godmoding.

It is supposed to be a rp server, and you're trying to railroad people.

Dude, I have to ask you: can you read?

Because if you can, and you DID read my original post, you would see, that I wrote there, very CLEARLY, to do almost exactly as you suggest is a "decent" script.

Someone along the way of discussion made it sound like this should be a scripted auto-dispel or anti-magic zone with no npc attached to it.

If there's an actual named guard rather an invisible one (like it is right now), then yes, I'd live with that. Even better if you place a wizard by the bridge for the sole purpose of using true-seeing. I'd still mostly avoid the area, but at least attempt of illusion of life will be there.

Keep in mind that, IIRC an npc can't talk to multiple people at once, so either you'll need to spawn guards, or close the bridge until guard is done talking.

P.S. Can we still hang bentley and blow up the inn?

Well, as Valefort has said it "evolved" into interior merchant NPCs will not deal/converse with any PC that is buffed up using X number of spells.

So though I was trying to prevent the Weirdness from getting inside the FAI entirely, it looks like it will be an added layer of frustration to "get your business done" unless you debuff and bring your Toon back down to earth (like they say).

I think you'll have to get in line, mate!

Well thgat just straight up metagaming.. The all white is a bug... I really don't see mettagaming as a good argument to not fix a spell...

Brief history of Spider Skin... on this server:

1) Stock NWN2 Spider Skin spell effect, turns the character into a black blob with red dots.

2) Due to popular demand, the server added one of the spell VFX mods to make the 'skin' based spell effects transparent. It was a great visual boon and even the detractors of the change came around once their characters no longer looked like weirdly coloured statues. At long last you could see some armor appearance detail on your character.

3) Yet with time there appeared a group of players who were not too satisfied with the change. These players were mostly surface players who were unhappy that their drow behaving surface elves were often mistaken for actual drow. (Tolerance was treason after all.) Thus the Spider Skin visual effect was changed into what it is now, I think there might have been few adjustments.

4) The drow players were rather unhappy about how their characters now looked like surface elves, but no one really cared about their feelings, since they were locked in the land down under. (The key was throw away and forgotten about.)

5) Many years have passed, and now Niapet talks about the Spider Skin. If you want to see the Spider Skin effect replaced, you could point into the direction of this thing: https://neverwintervault.org/project/nw ... in-effects

I wouldn't mind if the white Spider Skin effect would be replaced, but there will be opposition to the change. Hence, perhaps players could be given a chance to choose between 'Skin of Web' and 'Skin of Chitin' - chitin is a fancy word for bug skin.
