A courier arrives at the doorstep of the temple of Torm, he bares a letter adressed to Aethor Siger. The letter is closed with a reddish seal symboling a raising sun looking over a field on the horrizon.

"Sir Aethor Siger.

I'm Aston Wayward, a traveling Dawnbringer from the Spires of The Morning in Waterdeep. I've been sent here by the Order of The Aster, despite the current status of our situation in the City of Splendors this year, to look and hunt down the abominations, which are the undead. The huge fields near north the fair city of Baldur's Gate is my primary focus as of present.

I have heard of charter house of your Order in this city and a few names, including yours sir. I had hoped to contact your members and perhaps lend my hand for your cause in exchanges of aid, place of stay and like minded allies while I perform my tasks. Perhaps we could arrange some form of meeting and discuss the matter. I would very much like to meet the honorable members of the Radiant Heart. I ask you to send a reply to our Temple in Beregost. My brethen shall give me the letter when I visit the temple again. I will look foward to your correspondence, my lord.

"In the dawn, beauty reigns, and the way is clearer."

-Signed Aston Wayward."

At the bottom of the letter a similar seal is placed that the letter was closed with.

A letter arrives at the temple of Lathander in Beregost. It is addressed to Aston Wayward.

"Dear Good Sir Wayward,
It is my pleasure to welcome you into the Order of the Radiant Heart. I apologize for not writing back to you sooner. Things around Baldur's Gate and in my own household have been quite busy as of late. Regardless, I want you to know that you are being welcomed into the order under a trial basis. It is through this that we will determine whether or not you are worthy to become a squire. I am sure you will make a fine addition to our prestigious order.
-Sincerely,
Sir Aethor Siger, Radiant Knight"

A hastily written letter is left at the Temple of Torm in Baldur's Gate. It reads:

Report to Sir Jonas and Aethor regarding the bugbear raid on the Trade Way near the Cloakwood Mines.

Sir Jonas,

The Brothers Warchild and I investigated the Cloakwood Mines after the raid and ambush on you and the Lady Selis near the ruins on the Trade Way road. We tracked them bacl to the old Cloakwood Mines, descending to lowest levels that are still passable. Although we met bugbears in groups of two or three, and a few umber hulks, we did not see any other raiding parties massing in the area.

We returned to the City gate, and I warned others of the possible roads, and to be wary on the Trade Way where it nears the Cloakwood. We saw no other usual activity for the rest of the night. I will continue to keep watch on the area in the event the bugbears return in greater numbers, and will await word from the Order on any other services or duties I can perform. I stand ready.

May Torm protect you,

Belisarius

In the Elf Tavern Song, where the silence is broken only by the conversation of the ones inside, two paladins talk sitting front by front in one of the tables. Their tone is not loud, but the ones around can clearly listen to them if desired. Few can identify the old one as Thiago, paladin of Helm, Radiant Knight and member of the council of the Most Noble Order of The Radiant Heart. The young one looks like the very much with Thiago, is quite obvious they are related.

“Why did you have to choose this place?” Says the old one.

“Come on, father we can enjoy this moment as well this good ale.”

“Right, right. So I have heard Jonas have answered your letter.”

“Oh you heard? Father, no reason to lie to me, I know you had something to do with it.”

“The point is I think you are ready to take the next steep, this order will make you wiser and stronger.”

“So am I officially your squire?”

“No, Aethor will take care of you.”

“Aethor, the other one in the council with you and Sir Rokranon?”

“Yes, he is very skilled with a sword, and will be able to teach you a lot.”

“More than you?”

“Don’t act like this, you know that I have few to teach you. With Aethor you will learn much more.”

“Fine and where do I find Aethor now?”

“He is in Amn, I will let you talk to him once he is back. And keep focus on your training.”

“I will, now let us both focus on these paints of Ale, shall we?”

“We are paladins boy! This can never be our focus.”

“It is a father and son moment, we are allowed to do that.”

“Humm. Good point, cheers!”

Both keep talking and laughing for a couple of hours and then leave the tavern.

After an impromptu meeting at Candlekeep, five members of the Order of the Radiant Heart - Crassus, Briel, Belisarius, John, and Jonas - ventured north to the Fields of the Dead to not only test the mettle of the newer recruits but also start the process of pushing the undead abominations back farther. Things went well at first, and Jonas was impressed with the skill the newer members showed in dealing with the skeletal warriors and mages of the Fields. After some time, however, it seemed the Fields resented the Radiant Heart's attempt to tame them, and more sinister things began to appear.

Much more powerful undead, Revenants and Skeletal Mauraders from the Vault of the Dead in Amn; as well as Shadow Fiends and Shadow Priests, assaulted the small group of knights from all sides. Another man joined the fray on the side of the Order, and during a lull in the fighting he introduced himself simply as Geirard. One final large group of enemies remained - a Soul Reaver surrounded by undead and shadow both. The fight was difficult, but in the end, the Order members and their new ally were victorious.

Pleased with their work, the small group of knights returned to the farmlands for some well earned rest and parted ways. Geirard promised to speak of what he had seen, and departed in good spirits himself.

Sir Aethor Siger,

Thank you for your kindness during our introduction a short time ago. You were very gracious and helpful, and I appreciate the honest and straightforward manner in which you answered my inquiries. As you are well aware, I wish to apply for a position with the Most Noble Order Of The Radiant Heart. I feel it is my calling to serve the greater good, and I can think of no better way to do that than to join the order. As background per your request, I grew up in Nashkel on the border with Amn. Of Aasimar heritage, I grew fond of the humans, dwarves, gnomes, and elves I grew up alongside. I have spent my entire life on Faerun, having never travelled the planes, or even away from the Sword Coast itself. At a young age, I distinguished myself from my peers by showing a natural martial skill (most certainly a blessing from Tyr) and even and fair view of the world around me. From a very young age, I have been involved with the chuch, first at the urging of my parents, and later through my discovered love for Tyr, for his fairness, Torm for his sense of duty, and Helm for his noble defense of those principles. I hope this application meets you under good circumstances, and not necessity, as I would only seek to be considered on my merits rather than on circumstances. I hope you will find I have the correct temperment, judgement, and sense of humility for a position among this most holy order.

Sincerely,
Tomar Goodmannen

Having been relegated to an advisory position within the Radiant Heart, and his letter to the prelates in Amn so far unanswered, Jonas continues his duty as he ever has. The paladin goes about making himself acquainted with the many new recruits of the Order. The silver-haired aasimar seems pleased with the new additions, and hopeful that the future of the Radiant Heart in Baldur's Gate will be a bright one.

Three members of the Order served as honor guards at the wedding of Saint Merielle of Ilmater: Aethor, Briel, and Celoras. Jonas was also there, but as part of the wedding party. With this happy event done, however, the Order goes about the continuation of combating the undead abominations of the Fields of the Dead as well as tackling over evils that plague the lands.

Facing these evils includes allying with fellow paladin Kaden Asen and other paladins not in the Radiant Heart; but valued allies all the same.

In a seemingly chance meeting, Jonas and Tomar have met and Tomar has joined the Order as an initiate. In addition, Jonas was able to meet Katarina, previously initiated by Aethor, at the same time.

Spending only a few hours outside the city, Jonas meets with a few friends and expresses an apology to Volo for not being able to attend the half-elf's wedding ceremony to Roxy. The paladin of Torm then proceeds to the ducal palace for his scheduled meeting with Duke Entar Silvershield.

Rumor has it that Thiago, paladin of Helm, Radiant Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Radiant Heart, is more often seen in the trade way than within the city walls. Unlike past times he wears light chain armor instead the heavy plate and caries a quarterstaff with a crystal on top that shines a white light when it is dark. The common treats of the road offers him no challenge. And it is told that every wounded person he meets in the way find in him a healer to any wound. A very odd aspect of his skills is that he can tend to wounds from long and medium distance without the need of touch.

While that his son, Thiago the Second, paladin of Tyr and squire to Aethor, also a radiant knight develops himself in a master of sword. Much more talkative than his father that young paladin has as many friends as his old man does although he is not for so long in the city of Baldur´s Gate.

Sir Jonas Rokranon, along with Merielle Silene, Ivaris Alomane, and Dajala Silverleaf were seen entering the Flaming Fist Headquarters a few nights ago, only to leave shortly after with Sir Justin Crownsilver and Valqis Sanejmeh, as well as several Fist including Geirard, to head to the Helm and Cloak. Duke Eltan entered almost immediately following. Valerius, Siomir Danneren, Joan Degualle, and Rith'alaria were seen entering the inn shortly afterward.

Sergeants Grunga Ironfaar and Daaf Rocshanks, along with Captain Ardias Guthrun handled security while his grace Duke Eltan conducted the dinner meeting. What was discussed is unknown to the general public, but it is known that the dinner was interrupted by reports of an attack on the Gate by undead abominations. Part of the dinner party immediately set out toward the bridge over the River Chianthar to bolster the defense.

Geirard and Sir Rokranon arrived first, and found a large group of adventurers and Fist soldiers already in combat with an enormous dracolich. Both men dived into the melee with Shorn, Emrys, Francis, and many others. After a tough battle, the abomination fell, and none other than Sammaster appeared. The lich and Jonas recognized each other immediately, and Sammaster began to try to tempt the other adventurers to stand aside with promises of rewards. All refused, and the mad lich brought another dracolich down upon them. This battle was just as grievous as the last, but in the end it fell. Sir Crownsilver arrived by now and vehemently refused to let the lich pass, so Sammaster threw one last foe at the assembled adventurers: a pit fiend. This evil too fell, and the heroes were left with the tending of the fallen.

Jonas and Kaden assisted Geirard and Francis in this dark task, as Sir Crownsilver oversaw the efforts. Thiago, Aethor, and Tomar, who had all been involved in the defense of the city, then escorted Sir Rokranon back into the city so that the battered paladin could seek some rest after a brief meeting.

(( I know there were loads more PCs at that battle, but I don't remember them all, sorry! ))

Aethor writes a letter to the Prelates of the Order of the Radiant Heart in Amn. He has asked a courier to deliver it with haste. In it he writes....

"Esteemed Prelates,

Recent events have forced me to put a request in for reinforcements. Between helping out clearing the Nashkel Iron Mines, keeping the denizens of the Fields of the Dead at bay, guarding Mercy Orphanage, and working with the Fist to eliminate the Drow threat to this grand city, we find our small numbers stretched too thin. Currently we have a total of 10 members in the area, five of which are squires or initiates.

In light of this, I humbly request that you send just a few knights to aid us in our endeavors. Any help you can provide us in this manner would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to your response and Torm protect you as always.

-Sincerely,
Sir Aethor Siger, Knight Commander"
