Hello everyone,

We've had questions of exterior size of wilderness housing and I wanted to write something shortly about that here.

Firstly, outdoor tiles are much bigger than indoor tiles.
Here are 2x2 outdoor tiles. This is counted by the toolset as 4x4, and is the smallest outdoor size you can build on.

As you can see, it's actually pretty large! And it's only the walkable space we're counting here, naturally you would landscape the surroundings too.
Voice range extends about two thirds of one outdoor tile (the length of the white wall below).
You can easily make a camp, a little canyon, a clearing or what have you with a secluded place you can't be overheard from.

On size and memory etc: There are no set limits to memory & FR for now, but areas that are very heavy, regardless of staying within walkable size limits, may need to be dieted.
Tfunke's toolset guide I pasted with the Builder's Module update gives some great basics and suggestions on building light.
Like Planehopper has said previously, it's a good idea to keep us in the loop as you build! :)

Thanks for reading.
What we see depends mainly on what we look for

So, since I have 2 characters that are brother and sister, can each of them get a key for the house since they will be living together?

The player housing will be tied to one character for all rules/usage/bio required etc. You may request and share keys with whomever you'd like.

So it can be tied to one character of yours and you can request multiple keys, yes. The housing will just need tied to one characters activity, however.

Final question; can we also have an internal lockable door in the house or is that only for the main entrance?

Yes you can set doors to whatever locked state you'd like. So far two of the areas are public space with a private dwelling (library and tavern), and another is a private space (wilderness cabin).

Hello Dev team.

Ive been wondering if it was possible to create something like a "Guest Book" for these player housings, it could be a nice little feature for visitors and owners, both of houses and possibly taverns etc.

Is that at all possible to make?

I'm guessing that mechanically, this might not be far different from a bulletin board.
I play a baker. Sometimes she provides counseling or treatment.
Ask about our Breadflower daily special to save five coppers off a purchase of five pastries.
She seems unusually interested in cursed items.
She has also been seeking a variety of gems and stones.

Yeah thats what I was told would be the most likely way to make it. And that would qualify for my own usage of it really, so long as I wouldnt have to have a whole bulletin board in my hallway :D

Using this to bump the thread and say yes, we have added the bulletin board script as an available upgrade. These work per-area so will only be allowable inside homes that within cities/settlements and interior or exterior for wilderness locations.

So far we have a handful of player homes and they appear to have done well creating RP opportunities and community. If anyone has any further suggestions, please use this thread.

A quick bump to note:
  • The option to block incoming/outgoing teleportation will be allowed as standard, however all IC wards must be coordinated with the DM team. Player housing key will bypass these blocks.
Blocks on teleportation/dimension door/such are able to be added to prevent exploitation of mechanics and potential for abuse where desired, however these wards are not the same as "Guards and Wards" that you may wish to invoke IC with a DM. For those you must coordinate the placing of wards with the DM team so that they can be documented. Those of you with existing blocks, please work with DMs to make sure those are coordinated IC (if you wish).
