I can only see that happening if it all RCRs were put on a one-year cooldown.

Re: Money Grubbing Capitalist Suggestion
I still believe what is in the quote below could work better:
Maybe it can be done with something like:
I think it would be great for the level 30s because:
That said - I am, of course, in favor of a 100% RCR a year per CD-key, in addition to the normal 50%. Do we really need to vote for that?
If we don't like the CAP removed, then it can be removed only for a rebuild and only once a month, or six months, or something. My suggestion that could make a 50% RCR more bearable to most level 30s is this:
- remove the CAP to level 20, like it was before the rule was introduced.
Maybe it can be done with something like:
(I don't know the language you guys work with, but it's just to give an idea of what I mean.)If "OldName" is equal to "NewName"
If 30 days (or whatever time you like) have passed since the last rebuild
Then
"CAP removed".
I think it would be great for the level 30s because:
- It will help them rebuild without losing part of the "epic levels" potential;
- They'll still be able to go dungeoneering with the level 30s friends;
- It will also be a RP and narrative inspiration, for what they did that made them lose a bit of "power", to readjust to the new situation, and so on and so forth.
That said - I am, of course, in favor of a 100% RCR a year per CD-key, in addition to the normal 50%. Do we really need to vote for that?

I said twice in the same paragraph, and you even quoted it, that these are my personal opinions.Kitunenotsume wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 12:54 pmGhost wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 7:24 am I also actually would prefer - personally - if RCRing into the same character was actively discouraged. It is Retired Character Refund. Again, this is just my personal opinion, but I wish RCR wasn't used for character development stuff, or significant changes to characters. It's OK to fix some stuff you didn't realise, but I dislike the significant change of ability points and classes (especially base classes).Building on this, it's also a bit dissonant - we have an opinion from a prominent member of the DM team stating that RCRs should be discouraged, while at the same time informed by the Dev team endorsing that even minor changes forced by server-side tweaks are best done through RCR because of how things like global feat distribution was handled.artemitavik wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 12:41 pm I would actually just like it stop being called RCR, because... really... no one uses it for that most of the time. I know a lot of people that will RCR because of character development, or IC religion change, or skill update through RP, any number of super good IC reasons, and some OOC reasons too like when minor changes show up that no longer synergize their feats the way they normally would before (yes this happens pretty much every rules update to at least someone). however, I think 1-2 a year for free would not be super terrible. Otherwise, how do you show your RP development in your skills and classes when there is none mechanically to be had (not that it would be rquired of course, I"m perfectly happy with my current build atm)
I think that establishing a shared staff opinion on what RCRs represent and why they should be used would help clarify the situation a lot.
I also said that fixes are fine. What I don't like is character reinvention.

RCR system could take into account how close to a build the new one is versus the old, modifying RCR opportunity of that character, elongating RCR eligibility of the character if too many divergences were determined.

FGK : 35 (8 minute)DaloLorn wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 3:50 am2M is pocket change for the Izzuls and AoSes of the server, who make a point of looting half a dozen dungeons on a daily basis. (Incidentally, Tekill's estimate of 20k for a day of concentrated grinding is a massive underestimation, Lin netted around that much for one solo run through Oghrann alone!) Ghost and Ink have reportedly accumulated over 1M just through the leveling process, though results will vary considerably depending on whether you hop to another dungeon after looting it or not. (Gurzhuk, for instance, is in mid-epics now with well under 500k, even accounting for all the gear he's bought off Mudd, because he mostly just circled through whatever dungeon he could smash through on his own.)
Lizard : 15 (2 minute)
Lich : 8 (2 minute)
Icehaupt : 15 (15 minute)
Graypeaks : 35-55 (15 minutes)
RW : 8 (2 minute)
3 times a day is about 363k a day (2.2h solo work) for mostly Blunt sales. Two million in Blunt sales reached in approximately seven days (15h), but often you land on a few hot items that can be traded off or sold for a decent penny, shortening that amount. But that loot runner is designed to ignore the traffic, kill bosses, and kick chests, which significantly shortens the loot run process. (Combined with copious teleport casts, long range shadow jump, tumble, and standard jump, ethereal/sanc, Epic Dragon Knight for off-hand heal/restoration casts, elemental immunity, hide in plain sight for cast interruption, counterspell for eating Balor mords, etc).

Re: Money Grubbing Capitalist Suggestion
... To be fair, you're also the guy who's boasted of going 1-30 in under a week. Most normal players won't be able to complete all those dungeons in that kind of timeframe, least of all not with a normal character. (By your own admission, this guy's literally a looter powerbuild.)
But yes. Even accounting for your optimizations, the average loot quality won't vary: Only the time (and potentially money in the form of consumables) invested into obtaining it. Thus, as I mentioned earlier, Tekill's estimate is a gross underestimation of what even a normal PC can get in a day, though some PCs may not be able to get it without finding a party first.
(On another note, seriously, we need to implement some kind of diminishing returns already, it's ridiculous how much you skew the metrics... not that we really gather all of the metrics you're skewing, but you get the idea.)

While Izzul and I are outliers I think we've also slowed down some. I don't see him about as frequently, and I myself have taken up a demanding project that has eaten into my general availability, in addition to a new job coming mid Oct.

I mean, I'm more bothered by the possibility of an Ixy(sp?) than by his existence. He and all he's done have been inevitable, IMO, because we've continued to tolerate a broken system on the notion that most people won't take advantage of the brokenness, whilst ignoring how it feels to not take advantage of it.

Re: Money Grubbing Capitalist Suggestion
im not slowing down
-i login 12am to 6 am for 7 years(2017-2023) to cater to friends/guild/DM Event(the sacrifice i have made that no one knows or appreciate. lol
) so you dont see me often because i login during my own normal time currently and stop catering/sacrificing myself to others anymore.
-i stop posting new finds to give more room for other traders to grow(to let them be on par or at least increase their values). i dont like to hog or corner market monopoly, same as i dont like to corner the RP world monopoly. though that doesnt mean that i didnt find anything.
-i dont like to run with many people too as the challenge diminishes. i like to enjoy every encounter with the least people/party/consumables and dont care about how long it took if i play my non rester toon. if i play caster or mage or glass cannon, i like to be in big party. if i play short term buff, i like to haste finish it. i am mercurial and can adapt to situation.
-for capitalist, i love the idea of gold sink. thats all
