In a recent-ish rule change it was made illegal to RP wearing a uniform of a guild your character for the purposes of anonymity. I've never understood the reason for the change, nor do I agree with it. Part of having a uniform at all is to be able to blend in with a group, be easily recognizable as part of that group, and by extent be glossed over as being "just another member of that group" rather than Person-X.

Control guild NPC members
Several guilds have guard NPCs, whose job it is to protect the assets of said guild, and maintain a level of peace around it. Occasionally PCs do or say something where they at the very least need to feel the threat of being escorted off the premises by a group of guards.
Be a bit cool if we could allow certain members of a guild, like the guild leader or sub leadership roles to have a feat that allows them to "summon" a couple NPC guards that are non hostile or set to "commoner" mode, just for the effect of RP and being escorted from the guild hall. Otherwise their physical stats would just be nothing burgers, to prevent abuse, but allows this to be used as an RP tool for those folks, and the usual NPC guard "rules" apply otherwise.

To be fair the amount of people who could abuse the system are very limited, and the punishment for such could be incredibly harsh on them. So it feels like that alone would break any abuse of the sort.

Who would be dumb enough to abuse this

I think you'd be surprised lol. Though I realize my experience as a DM and ex- Head DM is probably different. It is however, very easy to prevent it being abused for grinding or whatever by just making the NPC's worthless in an actual fight ( since that isnt the point of it. )

I think something like this would be a nice middle ground between letting people RP their own NPC's, and still allowing guild leadership to call on NPC's for RP purposes and have them actually represented in game. This would be especially useful for guilds with extended amounts of resources to call on, like lore guilds such as Darkhold, or guilds like Radiant Heart that have x number of knights or footsoldiers on call. Barkeeps ( Hi Sel ! ) who can call on NPC bouncers.

As for rules, i'd say limit it to within the guild grounds as well as the immediate map outside of the guild hall area, any use outside of those areas would be against the rules, and as for other players they'd need to treat these NPC's as if they counted for the normal NPC guard rules, so it would help avoid chaos and PVP inside or around guild halls as well as taverns and bars. I think it could add a lot of fun. I also have some other ideas floating in my head on how to increase RP between players without DM intervention. I suppose some exceptions to these rules could be made of course with DM supervision or permission, or if the NPC is not a "guard" ( like a trader NPC, or a messenger. )
