I am sure of it. (-;
You can't stay away from awesome indefenitly!
But if you do, thank you for what you brought to the server, and as we all told you ingame, you will be kissed. Uh... Missed. M.
The: "You'll be back" is void! I'm not back!
...yet.

The home magic box is experiencing technical difficulties. Monitor is turning black after about 1-second of normal display. Turn it off then on and it lights about 1-second then goes dark (black) again. Not "off" black, but more on-black as if the non-image screen-saver kicked in or max-out contrast setting.
If the big box is off, the typical "No signal" message lasts only 1-second, not typical 4+seconds. Once it is on, then the image appears and performs normally. The power and VGA cables are both firmly affixed. Re-starting the whole rig a few times does not resolve the problem.
If I turn monitor it on and off enough (dozen-plus last night) it will stay lit. Unfortunately, I do not believe I have a DVI or S-video cable laying about to test the video card with the small TV. Once the monitor is on, no setting seem out of whack.
Anyway, I suspect it is the monitor and not the video card. Meanwhile, if I am able to maintain focus long enough to outlast the on/off/on frustration I might be IG or dabble in the Toolset. Otherwise, there are plenty of IRL diversions.
If anyone has other ideas about trouble-shooting this, then please send me a PM. I may need to go shopping.

My mother had something like that, but she uses the classical computer screen. It was trouble with the light/projector or whatever you call it getting loose. It was repaired in a PC shop for ~ 17 $

I suppose 5-year-old LCD may be considered "classic", but your mom's issue seems more like a CRT thing than an LCD thing. Or not... there is a shop nearby...

It's a LCD, but a rather thick one. Worth checking if any. If they provide a cheap diagnosis on it, anyways. Just make sure they're trust-worthy (they love making up false errors.. worse than lure Anti viruses)

Going away. Beer. Good food. At a cabin. With friends. Terrible weather, though.
Back Wednesday.

I'll be off for a few days to enjoy the good weather, should be back about Thursday or Friday next week

I'll be off and on for a few days, not really feeling the fun anymore. Maybe I'll go outside or something. If you desperately need Annie (Which hopefully, you won't.) feel free to PM me or something.
