A page finds ser Arron with a neatly written note by ser John's hand:

"ser Aaron,

As always I will see to my attend duties with all due dilligence, and I will put your instructions into effect immediately.

Security at the Keep has been increased and I am having the magical wards tested and strengthened when and where. I am also screening our soldiers and younger knights for traces of magical taint or influence, and am keeping a close watch on the outer guard.

I will contact our Good Lady and yourself and the other Knight's General should there be any changes or alarms, and send regular status reports through proper channels. Please tell Lord Uriel that my sword remains True in Holy Justice and I look forward to joining him and others on partol when my duties permit.

Sincerely,

ser John Brydges

A well-written page is left for Lady Elvina

Knight Commander,

I do believe this Order is one of a kind, the last few days have certainly proved that. Binding the Devil to our plane (Thanks to Za'than) for that short spanse of time was necessary for now a boy is reunited with father. As Sir Uriel stated, we do not trade souls for souls. I would like to inform you I have read over the Order's extensive history, so feel free to ask me any questions.

With this devil matter solved, I wish to discuss reinforcing the keep's defenses further. I have brought up my suggestion to Lady Gina, Squire Lea, and Knight General Uriel and they all appeared tolerant and reasonable. However, they also mentioned the final choice rests with you.

I am aware the knights and squires here are not proponents of poison and neither have I been for the entirety of my life. If I may be politely blunt, the sign outside the Keep promises we're held to a greater purpose, a greater good, so without leaving you to wonder further.
What is your position on setting up traps within the Keep if a siege cannot be avoided? For it certainly seems that a face-to-face battle with Bhaal's Avator looms.

I am eager to discuss an array of things pivotal to the lifeblood of the Order, and have promised to donate a healthy sum to the Temple of Lathander to further strengthen the growing bond between the various, holy factions. I shall be writing an in-depth report of all my findings this week. I'll conclude my letter by oathing three things, no maligned shadow or cutthroat should feel safe on mean streets, secondly, I would take up arms against any fool who strikes out at my righteous and forgiving brethren, and three; I am gladdened to serve and seek out the truth for it shall set the damned free and vanquish whatever otherworldly denizens calling upon vile darkness.

Humble regards,

Memoir of Squire Miriana D'Luth Geistbane. Procurement of provisions for the Orphanage. A revisitation.

I had tried to avoid speaking on this for very personal reason, but since the incident caused me an extended absence, I feel it is my duty to report it. It is with a heavy heart that I, Squire Miriana, recount a memory that I truly wish the Maimed God would purge from me.

After my time spent fishing in Ulgoth's Beard came to an end, I took my catches, cleaned and scaled them and brought them to the Farmlands orphanage. Needless to say, upon arrival, the children and Matron were ecstatic and invited me to stay for a dinner to celebrate their food stores being replenished. I tried to respectfully decline in order to save them one more meal that may go to a potentially starving child, but it is hard to say no to so many young, smiling faces. In the end, I agreed to stay, on the condition that I examine her youths and make sure they are in good health.

While the dinner was in preparation, I dressed down into my old medical outfit, discarding my armor for the day. Last thing I wanted was to back into a child and hurt them. Lightweight or not, that armor is solid. As the preparations continued, I made sure to look over the health and well being of each child in the orphanage. Aside from a few cuts and bruises, all of the children were in outstanding health. The Matron is indeed a superb woman and such a caring individual.

As we sat down at their large dining room table to eat, I led them with a prayer, giving thanks to many of the Divine Pantheon. Upon completion we began our feast, so many happy, laughing children eating their fill. I had never felt so blessed before. I felt I had done such a grand service... until one little girl approached me, saying she didn't feel too well. Her name was Lilia.

I excused myself and Lilia and we headed for the orphanages infirmary. I inquired as to what was wrong and she claimed her whole body hurt. Still in my medical robe, I gave her a reassuring caress across her forehead, moving her hair out of her eyes. She... she was burning up and moments later, she collapsed. I placed her in one of their recovery beds, laid a wet rag across her forehead and alerted the Matron. The Matron maintained her composure and continued to monitor the rest of the children at the banquet table.

Days had passed as I tended to Lilia, praying for her daily. I used every technique I knew, administering everything I had. Neither Divinity nor Alchemy seemed to help her. It was then, on the fifth day, that she had passed in her sleep. I had spent the entire day in that room, grieving over the loss of such an innocent life. I could not stop apologizing to the Matron. My only respite from these feelings was the Matron telling me that she would take up the burden of explaining to the rest of her children what had happened to their friend.

I feel I failed as a Healer, as a caregiver and as a friend to all of the children in that orphanage. Deep inside, I was almost waiting for the Maimed God to forsake me and cast me aside. I could almost feel the look of disappointment from the heavens from Ilmater Himself.

This next part is a disgrace to me. I despised the entire occurrence as it showed my utter lack of self-control... Maimed God forgive me for partaking in such emotionally fueled, bastardized justice... As I walked passed the cursed graveyard, my mind erupted in a shower of blame and vengeance. I charged passed the two Flaming Fist mercenary guards, weapon drawn and the Light of Justice flowing out from my every pore. I... I had lost it.

I rushed into the decaying field, hacking down any and all of the undead denizens within. I cursed their existence, spat self-righteous blasphemy into the wind. I blamed these creatures for every plague upon man-kind, every affliction that tormented the good people of the Sword Coast. With my hands glowing in Divine retribution, I caused the reanimated corpses to turn to lifeless dust before me. Inside, I was screaming at myself more than anything else, despising my own actions.

After my furor had subsided and my strength depleted, I made my way back to the Gate. I was a fallen person in my own mind. I needed to commune, to atone to beg the Maimed God for forgiveness for my disgusting actions. It was there, at the Temple of Tyr in Baldur's Gate, where I spent my last two days of absence, deep in a solitary-confined prayer. I cried, beg, pleaded and hoped for the Maimed God to see that I was still Just. I prayed he would still see me as his beloved soul.

This is one of the most difficult trials I have ever had to endure. I would gladly walk the Field of the Dead for years on end if it meant I would not have had to experience what I have. I have born witness to men and women, eviscerated before my eyes. I have held the hands of friends and compatriots as their grievously wounded bodies ceased to live. None of that even pales in comparison to losing that dear six year old girl.

In spite of the myriad of wise, goodly people of whom I sought council, I still feel as though I am responsible for Lilia's death. I caught and delivered the very plagued fish that infected and killed that delightful, delicate, little girl. I feel it may take years to forgive myself. I hope by then I will be a stronger person. I hope I never have to experience such a horrendous loss again.

Signed,
Miriana Geistbane, Beloved of the Maimed God, Squire in honorable service to the Order of the Silver Rose.

Squire Valiant :
This holds merit for sure, we must look at all lines of defence. We can definately discuss this possibility in person at the meeting tonight. (( not sure the time yet ))

Squire Miriana:
Since none of the other children showed signs of illness, there is no way for you to be sure this child was not sick prior to you arriving, and perhaps thinking of it in a different light... What if your god or hers, was just waiting for YOU to be there for her in her final days to comfort and console her as she left this physical plane?

*Cecilia Lafayette, Paladin of Tyr approaches the keep of the Order of the Silver Rose with a friendly smile on her face. In her hand, a letter on high quality parchment bearing the seal of The Order of the Radiant Heart is addressed to Sir Aaron, Knight General. Bowing respectfully, she leaves the letter with one of the Knights.*

The letter, once the wax seal is broken, is written in loopy cursive as follows:
Sir Aaron,

I hope the day finds you healthy and well as you receive this letter.

There are a few things I wish to speak to you on, thusly I was looking to petition a time in which we might meet. I recently had a man by the name of Omen Lanier approach me, and leave a letter and I wanted to clear a few things up regarding this.

I had also hoped to speak with you about a matter regarding Triel.

As you know, you can find or write me at the Order of the Radiant Heart Chapterhouse if it pleases you.

Kind regards, and the grace of the Just God;

Cecilia Lafayette.

*Lady Elvina reads the letter with a smirk shaking her head and rolling her eyes thinking to herself " Omen... why can't he just stay dead." Then proceeds to write back to Aaron in regards to his letter.*

*Aaron leaves word on the boards for the Knights and Squires*

I would ask that all available Knights and Squires be present for our meeting this coming Sunday (7 pm eastern time). Unless important information needs to be brought up at the meeting, it will be shorter then our normal meetings. Squire Light will lead a patrol into the Serpent Hills. I would like as many Knights as are available to attend and show our support to our Squires, as well as those Squires that are available to learn from the experience as well. Squire Light's leadership skills will be put to the test in this patrol. Please make yourselves available, if possible.
