A half-breed jaluk has been frequenting the drinking house of late. Those native to Sshamath might recognize him as Drail, a locally born slave-hunter of no reputation. He seems miserably unhappy and drinks consistently throughout the cycles. He speaks little and causes no trouble.

Some gossip recently that the alcoholic had the gall to address a Yath'tallar in his inebriated state. They attribute his rendering of all banal platitudes due her house and station the means of avoiding her wrath. Others scoff that half-drow's cordial reception was more to do with being compared to the pink-skinned kivvil, Herg, who was also at the bar during the encounter.

Despite by all appearance seeming little more than a drunken rogue, the barkeep recommends Drail as a capable olplyn and archer to those who are thinking of exploring the caves around Sshamath.

You get the impression she just wants to get rid of him.

A shadowy figure deposits a message at the Bregan D'Aerthe Headquarters, stamped in black wax and scoured with three claw slashes.

There are rumors spreading throughout the city of a half breed spreading the faith of Ghaunadaur to slaves causing tensions to rise rapidly. It is also said that this half breed has even helped converted slaves escape their masters. Who this mud blood is? No one seems to know, but he's clearly becoming a problem

Also there are posters being spread throughout Sshamath speaking praises and threats of that which lurks.

A hooded male could be seen wandering the streets of Sshamath, studying it's routes and buildings. His movements are precise, not one uncontrolled shift in weight. His build would make it obvious to all eyes concerned that this was an iblith, a half-drow. And although just an iblith, he walks with confidence and strength though always remembering to pay his respect to the Drow he passes.

He walks to different merchants and words spreads that he is looking for work.

After the meeting with the Bureaucracy there have been sightings of kabold messengers heading into the wilderness of the Underdark.

The tunnels east of the mushroom spore grove are deathly silent this cycle. There had been fighting - but it was over now. In many places dried blood soaks the packed dirt floor of the cavern inhabited by the kobold cultists. But the bodies are not where they fell.

When the religious ceremonial chamber of the kobolds is discovered it is desecrated.

The idols the kobolds worshiped lay shattered and trodden on the ground. The altar is missing and the wealth that was hoarded here has been ransacked completely.

The center of this chamber is saturated with dark reptilian blood as if a mass killing had occurred. Following the blood trail of many dragged bodies one comes to the edge of the chasm wherein they may surely spy the toppled broken altar and countless kobold bodies - a mass grave. Some clearly died in the fighting but the most part have been only injured lightly in the skirmish. These seem to have been bled by a cut to the throat.

Most concerning is the unsettling movement in the shadowy depths. Slimes ooze over and among the bodies, dissolving and digesting them in a bubbling frenzy. Surely this was the handiwork of Ghaunadaur's election.

A hooded figure can be seen wandering the stalls of the Dark Weavings Bazaar. A stranger, or visitor, it would seem as he visits each and every one of the stalls. Dressed in robes and a cloak both a light shade of blue in color, a careful observer would notice under his cloak, strapped to his back were tomes of different shapes and sizes. Those familiar with the Art could sense emanations coming from those tomes. And those nosey enough to ask about his inquiries would learn he is seeking more enchanted books of knowledge.

Ghaunadaur's Cult Seeker, Drail, has not been sighted at the bars of Central S'shamath for cycles consecutive. His outstanding tabs remain unpaid. It is rumored within these drinking halls that the half-drow olphyn is probably dead - "a good riddance!"

The priest Urebril has been rumored to be praying in the S'shamath sewers, it's also said he has been in there for days in some sort of deep trance.

Other rumors floating around consist of a Drow/Tiefling mutt followed around by some sort of shape shifting humanoid. The locals have been suspicious of him , many think he acts like a savage..

Keen ears may overhear a conversation between two jaluks near the mind-flayers stall at the bazaar of dark weavings. Apparently a jaluk named Iston is willing to pay well for magical trinkets such as rare scrolls and similiar. One may leave a note at Glouras if he has something of interest and is willing to part with it.

However one should think twice to waste his time with ones that can be found in mass at various stocks at the bazaar. It is obvious that this jaluk in particular is looking for rarities.

//Reposting a week old rumor now that some confusion concerning PVP rules has been cleared up.
The Whistler wrote:An altercation between two wizards was reported to have taken place outside the Gloura's wings in the western end of the Dark Weavings bazaar. Passerbys may have recognized the males to be Kren'zar Faerzhind, adept of the school of Illusion & Phantasm and Caldor Tir'en, the most powerful citizen Sshamath had seen in the last hundred years, at least according to himself.

A cycle later, the latter's magically preserved ruby eyes are seen adorning Kren'zar's neck as an amulet. The illusionist seems undeniably pleased with his new trinket.

There has been panic from the commoners as rumors spread of a huge unbound demon (in some cases 2) has been roaming the caverns outside Sshamath. Much of the local fauna is believed to have been slaughtered but this Demon.

The conclave has not yet commented on whether or not these rumors are true.

The mistress and representative of the Black Claws Mercantile Company has been conspicuously absent from the bazaar for some time now. Some might claim that her business was a failure and she was murdered by her superiors, whereas others suppose she is merely off on business in another city. Others yet surmise she had links to a local cult of Elistraee and has gone off on a heretical crusade to the twilight realm above. Whatever the truth is, most of the denizens of the bazaar would undoubtedly shrug their shoulders in abject emotionless apathy and continue on with their own mercantile scheming.

Those that frequent the bazaar notice an increased number of Charnag Maelthra in the streets for a brief period before things seem to go back to the way they were. Any close enough would likely overhear them questioning merchants and looking around the stalls, every time ending up with them shaking their heads or shrugging before moving to the next one...
