A tattered notebook, well-worn - nearly to pieces -, was found (perhaps) abandoned and lying 'neath the edge of one of Candlekeep's benches. The author is unknown, some mysterious "-a", and most of the hen-scratched poetry within quite poor. Though a few may have found mirth in this one in particular. And some may now be on the lookout for a scholar, lady or gent, who blushes furiously in others presence.

A Study of Fire

I am so wont
to spend wise my wakeful
hours within: a stroll
and walk; a wandering
stupor - about stolid walls
and wondering, arcane
stones. I find myself so wont
to keep: my watch for
whispered fires of scarlet,
my secret locks ablaze
in lilting cherry - whilst so
be I slipping by our sacred
shrines; or so waltzing past
the provincial stall -
or so as I am so wont:
with eyes intent - my sham
pretense - will find study
alongside her favored
benches.

It is said that the priest of Oghma, Caelus Moon, conducted a ceremony at Candlekeep this past weekend that left him quite exhausted. It would be several days before he went much further than the temple or the very outskirts of the library-fortress.

A masked woman, garbed in long green robes, approaches Candlekeep. She speaks a few soft words to the guard, before handing him a small finely crafted box, with instructions for it to be delivered to one of the Acolytes of the scholastic institution. With that, the mysterious figure walks away, disappearing somewhere on the road back to Baldur's Gate.

While reading Mysteries and Tales of Zornon The Magician, a blue haired acolyte chews slowly on some apple, the bulk of which is in her other hand. When she recieves the box she appears completely surprised, so much infact she absent mindedly kicks over the remains of 18 apples, now just remnant cores at he feet. Setting the book and unkilled apple down, she takes the thing into her hands and carefully opens it, a sparkling blue refraction emitting from its' curious contents and dances gently upon her face.

She smiles.

A "D" shaped object no greater than the size of a large lyre arrives at the gates and is addressed explicitly to Kamine Waynn. It is wrapped in heavy parchment coated lightly in drywax as to protect the contents from precipitation. It is light and feels hollow if knocked upon. Further inspection would determine that it was harmlessly enchanted by a contingency should the contents be observed. The delivering agent would state that the package comes out of Cormyr and was afforded a hefty sum to be rushed to Candlekeep. Who it is from, or what it may be. . .is anyone's guess.

Late during the night the new "Acting" Gatewarden can be seen walking between the guards on watch, stopping to converse with them about anything from their idle chit-chat to any serious grievances they might have. The Gatewarden carries with her a hot pot of Maztican coffee to share with her men to take the edge off of their fatigue as the night wears on. After talking with each of the guards on watch, the Gatewarden returns to her office.

Visitors to Candlekeep might notice the guards being run through regular drills on the defense of the monastery. The Gatewarden can often be seen assessing guards on their proficiency with various weapons such as crossbows, bows, and polearms.

In addition, regular physical training has begun in the early mornings in the monastery, with the Gatewarden participating right alongside her fellow guards, often jogging along with the slower runners to encourage them to continue.

With her horse loaded up for a long journey Arendyll somberly checks out with Rico in the earliest hours of the morning.

"Evereska. Rico." She states with smiling sadness. "To return post-haste when I have completed my affairs there."

The guard may mention that the elven acolyte doesn't have to report where she is going.

"Someone may need that reassurance." her soft response would be. Then, for a moment she wasn't certain if she was talking about Kamine, or herself.

Thus a sleepy mount chortles down the sloping descent from Candlekeep lugging behind its' lead, who sets her sight Northeast. Fully outfitted for an arduous trek she turns to the reluctant equine and chitters politely to pick up the pace once they have made the landing at the bottom of the great library's ascent.

A sudden stop nearly sends the loaded equine crashing into the smaller elf. "Lucia." her hand comes up and slaps her forehead causing her to wince. With watery eyes and a forrowed brow, she shakes off the pain and looks at her hoofed companion. "Sorry pal. I almost forgot to ask Lucia something." The horse kicks at the ground a few times and waves its' head up and down, as if to say, THANK YOU

With that, a marked U-turn has the forgetful elf and her might steed heading back up towards Candlekeep.

In the morning after the evening, outside of Candlekeep in the rock near the campfire, a grizzly scene, painted with blood on the rocks is the following:

Dreadmaster Vadim Morozov and his wife Yadira Morozov approached the Guide of Candlekeep for a meeting to discuss some matters. Whatever was discussed remains as of yet unknown to the public but the couple could be seen leaving in a manner which suggests the outcome of the meeting was largely positive.

In the early hours of the morning, the Gatewarden would be seen returning to the monastery with a new sense of confidence and purpose, one that seems contagious to those in her presence. At the aasimar's hip can be seen a new addition to her equipment, a sword with a crossguard shaped into the likeness of a red knight lanceboard piece.

I miniature horned figure warded as if expecting heavy battle has been spotted visiting public section of Library and talking to the Scribe. That figure then spent several hours sitting on the bench in courtyard, surrounded by lots of books regarding arcane magic, reading, writing notes and totally not caring about sunset and darkness coming along with passers by.
After a short talk with Scribe and Candlekeep guard, the figure left Candlekeep accompanied by the guard. They teleported away together to some place known only to them soon after that.

A dark skinned tiefling and a gnome with a crossbow and a strange helmet are seen in Candlekeep dragging a wagon full of troll hides.

They make the delivery at the gates and leave the library fortress smiling with a big bag of gold in hand!
