Yeah that's not the wisest idea, besides, it's not about server's refusal of connections it's their amount that bottlenecks on provider's end, so IP bans won't help.

Nah what I meant is that you could target say The Netherlands and block all traffic for a week towards the server.
Than again I guess you could ddos through proxy.
Basically trying to figure out who is doing it and from where.

That or just all chip in hire a hacker and let him deal with it.


We're not talking about some l33t hacker here that is doing that,but just an annoying pest that is keep spamming with ddos.

Not saying these are responsible for the ddos or that these log ins have anything to do with this, how ever it might be worth mentioning.
These 3 logs were pretty much right after each other, right away the lag started to come back up to the point that you would just dc.
I recall we had 7-9 people online before they logged, which could mean that the bandwidth was able the handle it before.

It is not very politely to name and shame or even remotely imply that either of those three logins has anything to do with these issues.

However it is very frustrating that this occurs every day, not even at random. Pretty much past midday CET it starts and doesnt end untill 11pm or later on average.. there are moments in between where it is playable yes, but largely it just reoccurs when you think its stabilized and safe.

Ive heard all kinds of theories, about other server owners and what not. I just dont understand why anyone would do this, it is not ushering people towards other servers at large, it is making a majority of players quit and do other things. Eventually some of these might not return, who in their right mind would want to destroy a niche community such as this? And if you are reading this, I am sorry your pet hamster died and that DM one time ignored you, now get real sir and let us have our fun

I highly doubt they would be since I recall these are old players.
I meant more that the ddos has been done during those log ons (or that this amount of people online meant that the server got unstable because of the ddos)
You could time stamp the ddos attacks in case you want to trace them.

Haha no worries, not sure if I worded my self correctly.
But yes it starts about every day around the same time and it ends around 11:00-12:00.
I guess it's bed time for the ddoser (and for me sometimes)

Just plan ahead for something else to play/do, as you'll likely get frustrated every day. It will pass eventually. Spamming the thread with frustrations doesn't do anything but appease the culprit if they are reading this.


Someone go open a thread with games/movies/tv-shows/STUFF-TO-DO-WHILE-THE-SERVER-IS-DOWN recommendations.

lol this guy has bin at it for a long time now i dont think he wil stop...

I just wanted to know why this person is doing this and wasting his time and everyone's else time. It's getting quite annoying at this point, since i can only play at night now.

And likely I died too. Lovely.

Server is still up just lagging. I'm doing turn in quests and it's slow going but making progress.

Well, i will try only 100 times to connect today. I promised myself i would not obsess.
At least i can move ships in Eve on my other monitor while im not obsessing.

just got booted after big lag. unable to log back in, server is down.

Atleast i got to kill the demontouched orc before disconnecting this time.
