Black smoke raised from the city docks district, with the wrong winds it smelled foul and of death. People too close were seen hurling.

Sometime earlier a group was seen scowing the docks for many of the dead that still remained, along with talking and searching on the docks themselves. Bodies were seen dragged and assembled, being given their funeral rites by a paladin. A mage set them ablaze, cremating the diseased and decomposing bodies.

Whispers spread of two folk being killed hours earlier before, stuck on a pike and set in flame. Some seemed to have whispered that it was an act of revenge.

Rumours around the Warehouses and children, speak of 'The Eye' , a man with an eyepatch who the childen without a home seem to fear most of all.

A small group of monks, all members of the Order of the Four Ways, can be seen entering the Temple of Ilmater inside the city. They are inside for some time, and when they leave can be overheard discussing how best to help clean up the dead bodies and corpses still inside the city as well as provide what healing they can to the sick and injured.

Not everyone is suffering due to the situation in the docks. For the past few nights a hooded female has been seen picking her way through the wreckage and corpses. She stops at each body to search it's pockets. Rings are taken off, Along with the finger by a set of heavy butchers shears. A sharp crack can be heard as gold teeth are ripped out by rusty old pliers.

With the City Watch not patrolling quite as often as they would, the mopping woman now turns up in an evening, fully armed and armoured with the intent of ensuring the streets feel safe for at least a few hours before the dead of night. While she is only one woman, she does do her best to attempt to speak to what few locals remain on the streets, asking anyone she can find about a One Eyed man.

Rumours begin to spread in the docks of random acts of good deeds happening, people who were about to fall over on the rails have been quickly caught and stabilized, hungry people finding good food placed near them, while its not clear who is responsible or if they are working alone, the stories go a halfling with a wizard hat has been spotted when these good deeds have happened never staying for thanks, working from the shadows, not only helping them but watching them as well.

Thanks to the efforts of various groups the Harbor District is now free of any remains that certain animals could have used as a snack. But those still looking around be it for easy coin or out of worry would notice few dead crows laying on the ground. Some of dock's dwellers report that their neighbor's dog or cat has become sick. The number of stray animal has gone down in the last few days.

Subject: The Water Queen's House – Church of Umberlee Role-Play

Rumor may be heard that the faithful of the Water Queen's House are heard to be preaching to the established School—as well as to those undedicated—that the reason the Harbor district and docks remained intact and without the suffering of other districts in the Gate, is because the Queen heard the prayers of the membership, grown larger in the earlier part of 1351, during and after The Rotting from Within, as the plague was to be known.

This conscious steering of the storyline could be interpreted by some as a means to empower the already faithful, as well, entice more of the Harbor District population—the sailors, dockworkers and their families; the crude and low-dwelling peoples; even the merchants that rely upon the Sea of Swords in which to increase their wealth.

Some who pass on this rumor, seem to know even more, in that: the faithful to the Water Queen's House say it is to be a year "...of the Sea Serpent...," said as maybe metaphor, or, as maybe, simply an interpretation of a title-in-the-making.

The apparent growing voice from the faithful who lead the Water Queen's House is timely, in that with a rebuilding Baldur's Gate, the trade that is made upon the Sea is best protected and secured...by paying tribute...or, witness the terrible fate that would befall any who did not bring a sacrifice.

A blond haired elf stuck a parchment to the bulletinboard, it attracted the attention of passers-by and made some talk amongst the folk.

Baldurs Gate relief efforts

If you have the will to contribute to relief and healing to the city, but you think your skills are unsuitable, look here for specific requests.
Noon, twenty first of Hammer assemble at the patio near this bulletin board. ((12:00 GTM 21st))

  • - Required, trackers and those who can commune with animals.

The day after, the same woman was noted, seeing tearing this particular bulletin off.

Those who have traverse the docks may notice less and less animals, and it is said the few that do still seem alive, look sickened, and their eyes cloudy with with some redness inbetween.Any sick looking rats seem unusually aggressive, foaming from the mouth. Some say they saw the stray animals or pets attacked by them. The rats even attacked each other.
A small party was seen treating a few of the animals around the dock area.

Some dock workers saw a rat on fire, complaining about the smell.

Frequent sewer travelers commented on a large boulder obstructing the Sewer Grate passage to the Northern farms. Rumours have it even the lands look weak itself there.

A blue clad gnome and a heavily armoured dwarf are seen carrying large sacks to the Temple of Ilmater.
They leave shortly afterward without the sacks.
Both coming and going they seem grim and less than enthused by their task.

Hammer 22, 1352

Many witness would have noticed a Blonde woman known by many as Terri Lalani being approached by a Flaming fist Officer. A discussion would have followed and some may have heard she was informed to come with the officer. A Dwarf who some might know is called Macgar began to cause a scene he but quickly subsided with a word from the blonde woman. The Blonde woman was then seen following behind the officer looking subdued and even a bit frightened as they headed towards the Palace District.

Koba of the Sword Coast Commercial Exchange may be seen wandering around the city and outlying farmlands and analysing the damage done by the war. Sadly shaking his head, he scribes on the parchment sheet, apparently summarising tasks that need to be done. He approaches everyone who may help him judge the urgency of each of them.

Later he may be seen decidedly walking towards the Sword Coast Commercial Exchange. After entering the offices he is not exiting for the long hours, a candle light seen in the windows, shadow of him seating by the desk.
