*The recently returned armor clad man can be seen accompanying Ameris almost incessantly as he tends to the needs of the former slaves. He is never far from Ameris' side, carrying poultices and medicines, taking instruction from the priest. The only times that he strays from the Ilmateri is to casually meander about the perimeter of the crude camp, his military bearing a show of force should any wish to cause grief to the aid workers or their charges.*

A Call For Aid!
In the Name of the Broken God, the Lord on the Rack, He Who Endures
Aid is needed from the good people of Baldur's Gate for a band of needy freed slaves. The Adorned of Ilmater and others with mercy in their heart attend to the health of these poor sick souls, but an urgent appeal is made for
food and
clothing.
If you can find it in your hearts, please deliver such south of the Wyrm's Crossing, where a camp for the sick lies, a safe distance from the city.
Please do not approach the camp directly. Leave the donations at a safe distance, within sight of the Flaming Fist, and one of those staffing the camp will see them safely distributed.
Please, provide aid to your fellow souls; and give generously.
Nëa buys as many new, fine clothes as she can for 30000 gold from Aello (and any other tailors in the city, should it be necessary to go to more). Different sizes and colours. And then drops them off on the table inside the Temple of Ilmater with a note:
"For the freed slaves. Give the rest to the people who live in the sewers."

As requested, and indeed the same outcome would have occurred even if it were not, Cecilia keeps vigilant watch over the comings and goings in the Ilmateri Sanctuary and it's new patients. At times she exchanges brief conversation with her fellow guard and paladin, Colwyn, or with the priest Ameris but for the most part the Tyrran remains positioned at the crates nearest the door downstairs. It is only once the temple is completely still, and the candles out for the eve does the paladin allow any hint of exhaustion show on her pale features.

*At the behest of the Ilmater clergy Colwyn Hereford takes up residence at the temple watching over its newest residents day and night. He is vigilant in his efforts, obviously more comfortable in this role of guardian than he was as healer. He interviews visitors coming in and ensures they do not tax the recuperating folk overmuch.*

Now the crisis has moved from being critical to chronic, Ameris is all of a sudden absent the temple, speaking of needing to take care of an urgent matter. Away for a day, he returns to duty in the temple, somewhat contrite from his temporary absence. He would thank those he saw who had set a watch over the place, sharing a few words as to how things are coming on,
His share of the constant cycle of the sick and injured that the temple receives keeps the priest busy; he would, when he could, check on the ex-slaves upstairs, hearing their stories when able, and helping to feed and tend for them. Concern for the traumatised patient, so unresponsive, would be evident.
With so many beds occupied he would give up his own in the temple and find lodgings in the Blade & Stars. He would, for some reason, seem unhappy about this, although not express it.

The Paladin Cecilia leaves the temple at the crack of dawn, a stony faced expression on her features as she slips out the front door - or as quietly as one can 'slip' in a fullplate - and heads out the East Gate in preparation for the sentencing of Ronin Marcus. Those who had grown used to her guarding presence by the door since the slaves arrival would notice she does not return at any point that day, nor in the evening that follows.

The following day, the familiar white-armored female returns in the company of a golden haired Dawnknight, looking surprisingly well rested and in high spirits. Asking after Brother Kalevi, the two leave a note requesting his presence and the Dawnknight leaves short after.
After moving upstairs briefly to check over the slaves, the clergy and any visitors that may be present Cecilia retreats to one of the quieter rooms of the temple, the chapel. It is here she sits, furrowed brow chasing away a measure of her relaxed state as she scribes thoughtfully. A few pageboys of the Radiant Heart are seen coming and going from the chapel, parchment in hand, the paladin emerging after a few hours to return to her post by the door.

Ameris leaves the temple in a haste, promising to return promptly. He takes supplies for travel.

*a brightly dressed young woman carrying a big basket arrives at the temple. She seems hesitant before placing the basket next to the door and knocking. Before anyone has time to open she is already gone, probably fearing the desease within. In the basket you would find three big loafs of freshly baked bread, oatmeal cookies and a big pile of apples.*

*One of the temple guardians, Colwyn Hereford, moves to open the door after hearing the knock. As he cracks the portal he sees only the back of a woman hurrying away. Looking down he cautiously lifts the basket and pokes through it before bringing it inside the temple proper. Finding its contents to be benign he carries the basket to the sisters before resuming his vigil.*

Ameris is returns to duty at the Temple, seemingly tired from a rapid journey. He goes about the daily duties of aiding his share of the sick and injured who attend the temple, as well as taking what time he can to tend to the physical well being of the ex-slaves upstairs. He tries to find time, as well, to learn more of the ex-slaves' mental well being; although his time is limited.
The observant might notice him move with some stiffness.

Having stayed at the Church of Ilmater in Baldur's Gate for the better part of two days, the Morninglord Tolan gets up one evening and walks out the door without a word, the same vacant and emotionless gaze in his eyes that have haunted him from before he arrived there.

After returning from a short journey, Ameris conducts an overnight vigil in the chapel, praying quietly without food or water.

A red-haired lady clad in heavy armor steps within the temple of Ilmater in Baldurs gate. After a brief conversation with Sister Adolina the clad lady takes a table and writes out a note left with Adolina addressed to Ameris Santraeger.

*Colwyn Hereford, templar of Ilmater returns to the temple and after conferring briefly with the sisters he moves to the stairs. Upon finding Ameris he informs him of his recent admittance to the Order of the Radiant Heart. The templar assures the priest that this new affiliation will in no way inhibit his duties to the temple of Ilmater.*
