Changes as in more shapes or more powerful ones?

About reaching DC of 50... There is a way... A charisma based Protection domain cleric way... All you need is 30 levels of cleric, +10 or better charisma modifier (works well with turn undead abilities) - and just hit that Protection Domain Power and you get to run around untouched, unmolested! You could even go higher than 50, by the way...

As for an arcanist reaching as high caster level as possible... Wizard 6/Blood Magus 6/Archmage 8/Shadow Adept 10.

+2 Int race... ( or +2 Cha if going Sorcerer... )

Ability score:
20 (Base intelligence)
+ 7 (Ability score increases)
+ 2 (Spellcasting Prodigy)
+ 4 (Fox's Cunning, or Item)
+ 3 (Great Intelligence feats)
= 36, modifier of 13

Caster level:
29 (Without practised spellcaster)
+ 3 (Archmage Spell Power)
+ 3 (Shadow Adept Spell Power)
+ 3 (Bloodmagus Blood Component and Blood Seeking Spell)
= 38, which gives us a +6 Epic spell caster bonus.

Thus... your DC could be:
10 (Base)
+ 13 (Ability modifier)
+ 9 (Spell level)
+ 3 (Epic Spell Focus Necromancy)
+ 6 (Epic Spellcaster bonus)
+ 2 (Shadow magic)
= 43

Have I forgotten something? Well, if you can convince DMs to grant you Spirit Shaman's Blood Magic feat it could be another +4 to your spell DCs... But the feat no longer lists magical discovery on the forums, so not sure if this is still a possibility. Hence, you used to be able to reach DCs of 47 on this server. Also, before the Practised Spellcaster bug was fixed, you could reach DCs of 48...

As for even higher DCs... I think I would go for Druid with splash of Turn Undead class and Hierophant.

Ability score:
20 (Base wisdom)
+ 7 (Ability score increases)
+ 2 (Spellcasting Prodigy)
+ 12 (Owl's Insight)
+ 3 (Great Wisdom feats)
= 44, which gives us the modifier of 17

Caster level:
30 (Practised Spellcaster)
+ 3 (Hierophant Spell Power)
+ 5 (Advanced Divine Spell Power) (You can roll lower, mind you.)
= 38, hence epic spellcaster bonus of +6.

Thus... your DC could be:
10 (Base)
+ 17 (Ability modifier)
+ 9 (Spell level)
+ 3 (Epic Spell Focus)
+ 6 (Epic Spellcaster bonus)
= 45

By the way, how long does this Inspire Fear effect last? How many rolls mobs make, etc?

1 round, 1 roll every round, like inspire slow or other debuff bard inspirations.

I think Inspire Jarring is a blanket -2 to will and -4 to Concentration.

So it is basically just like Inspire Slowing, which just slows enemies and has DC of 13 + ½ Bard Levels + Charisma modifier... so at best that is what... DC of 38?

Edit: And considering how that inspire slowing doesn't really have point beyond preventing sneaks from escaping... I'd say that our Drummer Boy's ability is better.

Sorry comments. Advanced Divine Spell power will not affect the CL of classes that did not grant it (ie, it will not increase the CL of a druid with a cleric dip; it will only affect cleric CL).

Cleric/SA/Hier can get some high DCs though.

Aasimar Sharran Cleric 10/SA 10/ Hierophant 10; 20 wis
+ 7 (Ability Score Increase)
+ 2 (Spellcasting Prodigy)
+ 4 (Hell Shop Amulet)
+ 3 (Great Wisdom feats)
36 (+13)

Caster level (necromancy/illusion/enchantment):
30
+ 3 (Hierophant Spell Power)
+ 3 Shadow Adept Spell Power
+ 6 (Advanced Divine Spell Power: 20 turning check +6 CHA [22 w. Eagle's Splendor] + 3 DSP Bonus = 29 max check)
= 42, hence epic spellcaster bonus of +7.

DCs:
10 (Base)
+ 13 (Ability modifier)
+ 9 (Spell level)
+ 3 (Epic Spell Focus Illusion)
+ 7 (Epic Spellcaster bonus)
+ 2 Shadow Magic
= 44 Weird w. Illusion domain.
= 43 Bodak's Glare w. ESF Necromancy

Ah, good to be corrected. Now I won't go around making Turn Undead Druids or Spirit Shamans.

needless to say, a DC built on an uncapped ability score has a limited DC of >40.... shrugs

btw. cleric is not the paragon class for the orc. it is the favored class. that is a HUGE difference. and you know what i am talking about and i feel like you are just being coy or at worst deliberately obtuse.

Is this what you are referring to, http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/races ... lasses.htm, Aaron? If you click on the link and you can read about the Racial Paragon classes, these are basically 3 level PRCs that are race specific, and tend to give +2 in some ability score, so everyone and their grandmother would go for them.

no. comments. i am referring to an elf gets its arcane archer and dwarf gets its rager and defender and hin get their warsling and while i would love to see gnome get their illusionist that is not my fight yet. anyway, orc got the drummer. while cool and unique it is not the same. it just feels like a second prc given to a race. not an initial

anyway, that fight is over and sure im still a bit bitter about it, but i really shouldnt have brought it up. i really need to lick my wounds and stop crying about it. seriously.

so, what i really have in my sights is the optimus feat that the OWD has. the war march. to me the cap on the dc of it is unnecessary. being able to to take the feat above the expected DC of 32 is both good for character and player without being any sort of power gain to the server. It hold zero value in PvP so that is not my direction. It offers a low amount of value in PvE because it is a debuff with a generous value but certainly not a kill button. secondly it will really only affect those that would be affected by the DC 32 version anyway. perhaps a handful (~5) mobs will be affected that were not.

to me this does not balance with the reqs and 5 levels needed. versatility jumps quite a bit with the DC cap removed too. now rogue classes have a quality option with the removed DC cap. this changes nothing to the versatility that is current and would only increase it as well as remove the awkward OOC reason why a OWD can only drum this well no matter what.

@Valefort, rather than argue it over again how about we just make the DC 5 + OWD + CHA mod + (1/3 perform ranks)? No cap, but dc21 + charisma mod will max at 31 or 32 IF they start at 16 and put 7 stat increases in charisma... realistically if someone builds an edm orc the DC is 28.

that should help versatility. chad?

The current implementation allows versatility. uncapped DC requires focus.
