A Goblet Night
“Amateurs look for inspiration;
the rest of us just get up and go to work.”

Image

The reward of a work is to have produced it, the reward of effort is to have grown by it so they say. I found myself having another busy night in the Broken Goblet. The tavern I've grown fond of. I am one that could say I seen it all. but this night I surely seen a mixture of things more than even my normal. Just before me a bar sat a devout of the Bitch Queen, a pair of chimney elves, a cheeky tiefer , even later a lone rogue, eager for coins but not stupid enough to reach where he shouldn't, and then a quiet one, one of those that come in a tavern, barely says much but listens and observes more than anything.

Still after many years, its surprising to see new faces and old, come in and still want a delectable drink in one of the many fine elegant goblets made of blown glass. As long as I am still able, I will continue to serve drinks in such goblets and continue to share rumors and tales to any and all that has an interest. After all, its what bartenders do.

Another Bartender

The key was tossed and caught with nimble quick slender hands. She gave a curious look then gazed up at me. I smiled and told her * "We had an accord, I kept me word those many years ago. Protection, a place to live, and lastly a job. Welcome back." *She partly looked at me in disbelief but that quickly faded because throughout the years she did know me, shes come to learn, I am a man that keeps his word.

Some say promises are meant to be broke. I say only people that would say such a thing are people that has nothing but excuse for a tongue. Integrity is no small feat. A man that keeps his word is a greater feat.

Getting an helping hand is always useful, after all, goblets must be filled.

New Bartender Experience

"I don't know how you can do it. That was a lot to keep up"
*He barks a laugh*
"Yer get use to it lass, it all becomes natural"

I've always said, each and every tavern has their own signature. Something within their own element that separates them from all the others. I use to believe it was the pretty goblets made of blown glass that rests upon crafted stems of silver and gold that made the Broken Goblet tavern different from all the other taverns. Nae, I was wrong. It's never the material things in the tavern. It's how the tavern run's their crowds.

During the early night..

Mitheera: ....yes i was looking for trouble. is that a crime here?

Fang Bearer Sel Darkmore: "Unless yer want to find yer self enslaved and sold, even drows are money from what I heard here recently ".

Mirella: Sel, red wine you would suggest for miss Uralia?

Fang Bearer Sel Darkmore: "Wine for Uralia, Ale fer Mitheera

Solaris Cult: I finnaly put my application in! Yes I did! Officer Freddie said I'll get an interview!

Mitheera: There going to let you...patrol the city?

Mirella: Well done then. Soon on your way to beheadings, hangings, and generally throwing things at people you don't like.

Solaris Cult: Yep they're going let me patrol the the city and give criminals a rightous beat down

Mirella: The whole of the Gate may soon feel your wrath

Laei Saenei: *notices Sel and blinks* Mister Sel *bows her head*

Fang Bearer Sel Darkmore: "Well well look who it is..the lil mage. Did yer take a wrong turn? The Shore ain't the hero types."

Laei Saenei: *smiles friendly at Sel* but your here?

Fang Bearer Sel Darkmore: "I live here woman. "

Laei Saenei: *blinks at Sel* Goddess my, you are quite the hero!

Fang Bearer Sel Darkmore: "Heros fills graveyards. I nae an idiot."

Mirella: miss. *she offers to Laei* might I get you something? Other than an eyeful of man-without-mannerisms.

Laei Saenei: *looks at Mirella* yes! Something creamy, cold, sugary, and no alcohol!

Fang Bearer Sel Darkmore: "Creamy , cold, sugary ,and no alcohol? Oi this isnt the Lewd Lyre , if yer looking for leaf water we nae serve that shite!"

Uralia Amakiir: I think Sel Serving Tea would Lower his Customer base just a bit to much . . . Look at all the buisnes he gets selling the cheapest Stuff there is hmm? *Softly Laughed and raised her glass to Laei*

Aubyn: *finger wave to the drow ladies*

Fang Bearer Sel Darkmore: *He raises a brow* "Well now whos this scallywag?" *He looks at Aubyn*

Solaris Cult: *offers her a bottle of wine* I hear it'll put hair on your little chimney elf chest

Michelle Ashe: *eyes the people at the bar, the woman's sudden greeting causing her to jump a bit, startled* Umm... E-exuse me... But...

Solaris Cult: Hey Lady Person! You look new around here .. You one of Frankie's people?

Fang Bearer Sel Darkmore: *He looks at Michelle "Another scallywag? Who this now?

Michelle Ashe: O-oh... Umm... *nods a bit before her attention snaps to Sel* Umm... M-Michelle...

Fang Bearer Sel Darkmore: *He turns to Michelle* "Yer pass'n through or yer came fer poison?"

Michelle Ashe: *her attention keeps drifting towards the man to her left as she carefully inches over a bit to preserve her personal space* O-oh... Just passing through...

Fang Bearer Sel Darkmore: *He totaly invades the womans personal space half circling around appraising the traveler eyeing her backpack* 'Yer some merchant or sumth'n?

Michelle Ashe: Just umm... I-I... *shakes her head* N-no.

Fang Bearer Sel Darkmore: *He grins at Michelle then boldly grabs her nearest shoulder like they were pals* "Come on then traveler..yer nae leav'n until yer get a gut burner."

Michelle Ashe: A-A... A gut... Burner...?

And how the staff handles their patrons and reacts to how they conduct themselves. It's all in the manner of whats allowed and what is not allowed. Some taverns expect customers to conduct themselves with cordial, respect, elequent behaviors. Others simple dont want any trouble and rely on having a loyal customer base. Not the Broken Goblet.

During the late night....

Khazrek Rivenhearth: "Ye want ta back that up a'fore I back yer head up yer arse?"

Slade: I gutted men fer less, so watch yer self, or find a knife in yer neck when ye lest expect it, aye? Otherwise, I rather use ye ta go an hunt some orcs or the like. Ye good at tha? Killin Orcs?

Khazrek Rivenhearth: "One more chirp out'a yeh lad i'll fix yer wagon but good."

Zerros Ozmir: *He glanced at the two and shook his head, filling his goblet with the remains of the bottle and hummed.* How cute.

Mirella: Gentlemen... gentlemen. *she looks from one to another with a soft gaze* please stop fighting. I've slit mens throats for thrusting and missing the right spot.

Fang Bearer Sel Darkmore: *He grins watching the exchange* "Yer bloody bloks, yer if yer want to have it, yer go to the pit, better not damage the furniture nor the glass

Khazrek Rivenhearth: *That rictus of a scowl contorts into a wretched grin* "Kill'n orcs well tha's a good passtime."

Slade: Normally I be in the mood to draw blood but not this night. Jus want me rum. *He looks back to the Dwarf.*Then lets draw orc blood together some time, aye? I'll forget ye words, if ye forget mine. *Wiggles his brows, flashing that golden grin.*

Khazrek Rivenhearth: *He grunts* "You're buying my ale here from now on an' deal."

Slade: I'll be ye one ale, one. *Plants some coin on the table.*

Zerros Ozmir: *He glanced at the two with a mutter.* Splendid. Here I thought I was going to have to put the two of you down for disturbin' my drink. *He then went to place the goblet to his lips.*

Fang Bearer Sel Darkmore: *He barks a laugh then looks at Zerros* "See and this is why I love me Shore

Khazrek Rivenhearth: *He eyes Zerros* "Yeh wan' a kick'n get'n line."

Zerros Ozmir: *He let out a laugh as he glanced at the dwarf.* Sorry lad, you have to be at least six feet tall to get on this ride.

Khazrek Rivenhearth: *He snorts* "Must be why yer tieflin' lass left yeh."

Mirella: *Pours each of them a refill after she grabbed more of the ale for Khazrek*

Image

During the early morning....

Fang Bearer Sel Darkmore: "Got Mirella a job and the whole bloody day been busy. Damn sun coming up already"

Callo Haphet: *nods to Mirella* Another familiar face. *looks around the Goblet* It almost takes me back to before the whole elf debacle.

Fang Bearer Sel Darkmore: "Guess'n folks needed a break from old Bently at the Friendly Arms' *He looks to Zerros* "When yer gonna convince Mag to fix that shit hole ol a tavern?

Zerros Ozmir: Tch. Bently's whiskey is shit. *He then glanced to Sel and hummed with a shrug.* It depends, the woman would have to die first before she ever saw changes. It is not about how Soubar is running - only her own dealings.

Callo Haphet: I hear you are quite worldy these days, Zerros. Travelling without your retinue even. Are you planning to show yourself at the magical tournament at Bladestone Lodge? Or are they barring the likes of you these days from entering?

Zerros Ozmir: *He took a sip from his drink and glanced over to Callo again and laughed.* The cornerstone inn of fools? I wouldn't dare show myself to utter trash like them. They sent I a threatening letter because I threatened Laei - though she had started it with her insults and mass sendings to people claiming Oona and I were together, and other things as the such that aren't true. I told those idiots where to go however, I'll flatten them if they attempted to do so. Imagine a (do-me) corner side bar declaring war on the Zhentarim over Laei. *He let out a snort.* Idiots been drinking far too much.

Callo Haphet: Some people are too interested in personal lives of others. old days, fools like that didn't live long.

Slade: Should jus kill em all an be done with them.

Mirella: wait wait...*she holds up a finger and looks at Zerros* The Bladestones wanted to fight Darkhold over Laei?

Zerros Ozmir: They sent I a warning' - Indeed.I sent one back. Told em' to (do-me) off.

Mirella: ... they want to fight over Laei.... a woman that was in here a couple hours ago trying to prove she could jump around the place and do flips and shite.... just to land on her arse a bunch.

The Broken Goblet is a seedy tavern, a waterhole for pirates, thieves, fugitives, smugglers. And sometimes it sees random travelers. And when it does, the Broken Goblet doesn't change to appease them. They patrons have to appease the Goblet.

A Pirate's Woe's

"Why are these people acting like the rumors wasn't even a concern!" *He sucked air through his teeth and spat out off to the side* 'Must they wait till death knocks on their doors?! " *The man cursed out although he was alone leaning on a wooden rail gazing out upon the Chiontar River. His frustrated eyes looks around as if waiting on someone or something. His mind wondering what news will come. Will it be good or will it be another that only make him shake his head in disbelief. The danger is already here. Why have those people haven't be rid of the blasted thing already. Then he heard a footstep approaching. He quickly turned and saw the small figure approaching weaving in between the bushes.*

"I received your message."

*He chin nods to the near trail in a speechless gesture for the person to follow before setting off up the trail himself. He walked quietly, looking around at each and every darting shadows or movements until he came upon a small campfire.*

"I'm afraid I don't have much new to add to our last conversation...."

*As he glanced out at the river* "I've been hear'n some strange things..tis mak'n me quite uncomfortable . Been hear'n talks about more box ol chocolates been found. Heard ol that?"

"Yesterday, there were boxes of chocolate found around the Friendly Arm. I can tell you, what happend..."

"Well then, do tell the tale, I'm all ears..."

Image
Why is it that I care? For I care not for the mere innocents of life. In my experience they all have become nothing short of a task. An obstacle. Pieces upon a board. But like any man woman or child, when you possess things, or hold things dear, you wish to cherish it. Even without thought. A mans investment, a woman's heart, a child's curiosity. That is why I bloody care , nor am I pleased to have heard talks of a succubus and the box of treats. Fools do people not remember what happened last year? To open one your marked. My last encounter with the fiend and its minions was nothing pleasant. "I remember you and what you did !" The beastie howled at me before leaping to try to rip my head off. Till this day I still know not why. But I had took comfort hearing that Valyxia was slain. But what the fok is she doing back?! And how is it so? I know now whom she serves. An Anchor she is, one of few. I hope the People see it perished, and hope idiots don't do anything foolish like open those bloody boxes!

We are threatened with suffering from three directions, from our body, which is doomed to decay..., from the external world which may rage against us with overwhelming and merciless force of destruction, and finally from our relations with other men. When unity is needed, I wonder why its rebuked. People squabble for the little things, yet their so lost in their selfish greed they dont even realize if they cant even work together, their may be nothing left to even enjoy. My Shadow is nae around to provide the comfort, but I will one way or another find a means to ensure I will see it again. No matter the cost, no matter the price. When a man has a family to protect, it's a natural instinct he would do anything to protect them. I am such a man that will do anything necessary.

*He looks upon a ring using a thumb to spin the band slowly over a finger. It's material was mysterious, its appearance nearly plain but he knew only the right spell would reveal it's true self. For months he' had wondered should he head north and reach out to his Master. His Master was powerful, but to disturb him for his assistance, would be a pricy cost. He looks down at the hilt of his sword remembering when he had first met his Master an knelt before him. As he took the boat ride back to familiar waters, he gazed out into the nights sky that was filled with stars. Strange how the world seems at a calm, a peace undisturbed. But the man knew this is how it always starts. Before the chaos....*

Two Dark Elves were seen carrying a drunken, and unconscious human out of the goblet a cycle ago towards the Sword Arm Inn. They were also later seen leaving (without the human).

*Likely Captain Pike would give the description of the patrons. Sel would smirk and wave his hand dismissively* "Bah them chimney elves likely to take that bloke to sacrifice for some God or another, then again that man likely will wake up finding himself married to Mitheera unexpectedly. The worse thing that can happen is the bugger gets a Moon dance or sum'thin" *He ponders* "Then again, that may not be all that bad."

Bartender to Bartender

"If the bartender is buying a drink from a bartender,
does it mean he's a patron or still a bartender?"

"They're quiet and slow for the most part. What brings the Shores bartender out so far." *she looks up from her mug cleaning*

"Ah pass'n through, and thought I finish our unfinish conversations before we were ..interrupted "

"Hm right the chat about the Mirror."

"What is this Mirror and what does it do? Because I recently heard another talk about this ..Mirror

"The Mirror belonged to the Selderine, apparently it could move armies around, only catch was that someone black of heart and Evil could use it."

"And why does the Elves of Doron Amar possess it?"

"They don't. Apparently when the Drow Lich took hold of it, they weren't evil and dropped the mirror. Shattering it."

"Are you ..sure of that?" *He smiled devilishly as he leaned forth on his elbows*

*She arches a brow* "You know something don't you."

*He lifts a single finger in gesture for her to come closer to the bar* "I cant say I know something because what I heard is just wot I heard...."

"Well good for them, no one there can use it since they're all pricks and stuck up each others arses. If anything, I sort of hope whatever is on the other side of that Mirror burns their place to ashes. Would serve them right."

"Well part ol wot I heard...it was used very very recently...so they have someone that can use it. And it was used..for what? I do not know"

"....Considering who I know was with that group who went to get the Mirror....one candidate stands out.

"You said this mirror can move armies..how does that work?"

"That I don't know. I would suspect that it's something like the Mirror Walking spell. But if that's the case then who ever used it would need to be a Cleric...That doesn't fit the Arrogant one....He's against the idea of Faith..."

"Well in wot ever the case maybe..I do hope someone gets rid of that blasted Mother ol Demons...'

As a bartender one of the many things that they do, is hear the latest news, the trending topics, the recent rumors, stories and tales of old and new. Visiting a tavern and paying for a drink is always the formal introduction and a show of respect that you brought your coins to them. After thing else after is all about sharing . But how much is shared depends on the give and take. Pass a single coin, and the bartender might admit they know something. Pay two coins and they might give you vague answers to your question. Pay more , and they may include all the details they know. How do I know this? Well after all, I do stand behind a bar serving drinks.

Do I sale information for a few coins? I will never admit it. After all, a paying patron is a loyal patron. It's interesting to be on the other side of the bar, seeking a rumor, listening to the latest news. It makes me think of all those times, patrons came to the Broken Goblet, hiding whom they were passing coins on the bar and waited out of ear shot to ask me about particular things places and or events.

I just hope all bartenders rumors are quality. Because the quality of words from a bartender needs to be genuine. A false tongue of a bartender is as good as a water downed drink. Its fake, lacks purity and sincerity. At least I am not running into Succubus's , doppelgangers, or flesh things or vampires or the Mother of Demons. It's one of those things where I am going to rely on others to deal with such a threat. After all, why risk my bloody self? If heros are willing to die to save lot's like me..so be it. Because lot's like me, wont risk their life for any hero, after all..that be utterly stupid. *Drinks from his goblet of rum*

A Bartenders Thoughts

“Life can only be understood backwards;
but it must be lived forwards.”

Image

We always see our worst selves. Our most vulnerable selves. We need someone else to get close enough to tell us we’re wrong. Someone we trust. Some nights are made for torture, or reflection, or the savoring of loneliness. Reflect upon your present blessings of which every man has many not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some. One of the saddest things in life, is the things one remembers....And I remember much.

If I speak of myself in different ways, that is because I look at myself in different ways. I love the dark hours of my being. My mind deepens into them. There I can find, as in old letters, the days of my life, already lived, and held like a legend, and understood. In one view, I see myself walking along the docks of Roaringshore, rowing the boat to my Sparrowhawk. Drinking the delectable drink I call rum, enjoying the smell of the sea. Blissful I think.

Other times I see myself in heavy dialog, being decisive in my choice of words in ambition to make my gains and avoid suffering of my losses. Other cases I foresee the image of the emotion that I have no control over because the emotion was far to overwhelming for me to control. Also, I see myself standing alone upon the planks, watching the horizon as my heart pains in missing what it desires. I am growing tired, weary, bored. As time passes, I find myself with less and less things that invigorates the blood that once flowed like a raging river.

Image

Time comes with change, and sometimes change needs time. Both can never truly be predicted. It will happen when it means to happen. So what does one do in the meantime? Sit by idle and await? Or reach forth and spin life's webs to my own design? Take the next blind leaps to see where I stand? Or where I fall?

They say a man can only do so much in his lifespan. I say, I've done more than anyone can expect in a life span. When a person looks at their reflections and realizes they have done everything they ever needed to have done, and see that there is nothing more left to do, then I ask what is left for him to do? Does he ascend? Die? Pass on to another realm? Does he disappear and make attempts to start all over or a new life? A new face?

Choices..thats all they ever will be. Choices. Well I've ran out of choices or at least the ones that hold my interest. Sometimes, you have to look back in order to understand the things that lie ahead. But what happens when you dont wish to look back because you are aware of the horrors that wait and dont wish to relive them? As I reflect on my past, present, I stand before a future unknown . Perhaps my purpose has finished. Perhaps there just isn't any more for me to do. Interest's fleets.

Destiny

“Letting go,
means to come to the realization,
that some people are a part of your history,
but not a part of your destiny.”

Image

Compassion hurts. When you feel connected to everything, you also feel responsible for everything. And you cannot turn away. Your destiny is bound with the destinies of others. You must either learn to carry the Universe or be crushed by it. You must grow strong enough to love the world, yet empty enough to sit down at the same table with its worst horrors.

Image

There are no wrong turnings. Only paths we had not known we were meant to walk. Destiny has already been a mark in the waiting. Each path different from each other, each journey will have a different experience, each conclusion will alter you. Sometimes life plays a twisted game, putting forth walls all around you. Your stagnant, feeling like there's no choice to make. However the walls are not meant to be easily broken, your suppose to chip them away like a dwarf's hammer crushing stones. It's the unforeseen outcome is what matters. Because making a decision was never meant to be undone.

Choose your path wisely. But how do we know which path was the wiser ? It's quite easy really.

"It's the path that wont leave you with regrets,
So think before you decide,
or put yourself in the hands of faith,
and rely on the wings of hope."

Shall I, Shall I Not
“The old writer couldn't write anymore
because he had reached the end of words,
the end of what can be done with words.”

*Two pirates with drinks in their hands shared casual conversations. Banters and laughs, dark rudely jests , talks of history and future. The bartender, felt the prang in his heart. He squeezed his fist feeling the his hand slightly stiffen. Still useful, still able to preform as he had over the many years, but he was no fool. He knew he was human and merely so. Thoughts conjure the image of Candlekeep and wonders what knowledge remains within that could help his very cause, his very goal, his very desire.*

Image

"I once thought it was silly for women to strive in keeping their youthful beauty. Bah let time take it's course and let life be as life intended. However as time passes, I to began to understand them. I once had a goal for longevity, but each time I tried , I wouldn't find what I had sought for. At least not the means I am willing to accept. As I look back up the hill towards the tavern I've grown to love with my beating heart, I ask myself ...will I live to grow grey and fat and still manage to serve goblets with stiffen hands and aches that plague every rising morning?"

"Or will I find the answer that I had always sought for? The answer to longevity without the sake of Necromancy? My master would surely have a solution, but do I wish to disturb him ? Do I really want to take such a path knowing what he himself has become? Nae, that is not my way. That surely wouldn't work for me. The risk too great, the results too life changing. I just need and extra decade or two nothing more. That should give me enough time to see through what I had dedicated my life for, see through what was expected of me. After all the game isn't finish yet."
“We drink to get drunk, we get drunk to fall asleep, when we fall asleep, we commit no sin, when we commit no sin, we go to the Heaven's."

Weaving Word's

“Vagueness is the kingdom of devil's,
and it is as such on purpose."

Image

Nothing I knew, was as powerful as curiosity. I had always considered it more powerful than lust. Façade, mask's,, illusions, manipulation's. All are elements some select few in the world understand very well. No sword, no blunt object, no magic can do what the ability of weaving words can do. Try to tell a man your thirsty without speech, tell a woman how beautiful she is without eyes, tell the rich that you are hungry while you are poor. Sometimes you need to find means to get across words you do not wish to speak. Sometimes you need to explain that you understand without saying it so. For some people, it's a culture, a way of life. Their not born with such ability, they were trained. And even when they are taught, not everyone understands.

Image

*Her face was serious, his was mirthful playful. But the winter orbs was in a lock gaze with a set or browns. Both eyes were very serious both doing the same thing..unflinching, and taking in everything in view without a single shift....measuring..looking for any signs that would give off a hint of lies, a bluff. She weaved words like a conjurer of magic. Each one spoken tactfully in its execution. Direct but indirect, reveal without saying so, ask what was needed to ask without cause to offend. Old habits, old ways, she needed to stay ahead. However it wasn't so on the other side of the table. Once upon a time such a game was fun, entertaining. But when a man listens to the same song for many years, it's no longer fun, no longer entertaining. What was long ago interesting now becomes a mere trait to look for. The facade held, regardless if they seen through it. Because word's directly said nothing. However in this case, he had more than enough elements in place to not even worry. While the world was busy trying to gain a name of reputation, titles and acknowledgement to be hero's. While forces were busy trying to take each other down, he himself was busy to establish everything he needed to secure his future. Ties, connections in right places. Because like the mirroring person before him, he was taught to stay ahead.*

"A mans hopeful!"
Let's test her patience

"Most men are, up until their last breath is taken... "
A reference I'm well aware

*He winks then lifts his hands up innocently* "Good thin, I'm still breath'n"
Let's see if she loses that annoying stern composer

"For now...." *the posture changes ever so slightly.* "Events dance upon the horizon, dangerous ones...And within the larger dance there are smaller ones. The People have been busy ... doing what we can ..."
She's reassuring

*He smiled* "Now that is reassuring. I was starting to worry , that people were not taking such a threat serious enuff"

"There is one that steps upon the floor... that .. has brought concern. I seriously doubt your people have not brought you the news of our doings already." *The elf's eyes are sharp and she keeps her attention on the man before her, only taking quick scans of the room now and again*
Well well what do we have here? Old habits still clung

"My people? " *He tilts his head to the side then gave a twitch of his nose then smiled warmly* "A man can hear much. And be picky in wot he wants to hear. Some concerns are just not interest'n if yer git me mean'n"
Let's see how much more she will say

*A silvery brow lifts upwards.* "A change... of tunes of songs once sung..The stage was once set quite differently."
Correct, I didn't like how the staged looked or how the song played, change was a must

"Lets just say...some changes were needed, and listen'n to the same song over and over gets rather...dull." *He slowly reached forth using a single finger to play with the candleflames. No longer meeting the womans winter color eyes. He seemed casual, relaxed, a glance around for memories before looking back at the flame*

"A play bill, was once sought ...of a production, that I was only just made aware of. A relic a few years old now,..There is another seeking such a play bill and one would wish to see it before they might come calling for it."
Clever girl, but I wonder, how far you will go

*His brown orbs looks up to meet her gaze. No expression made. A moment of silence, observing, measuring. He brought his hands together interlocking fingers* "Why does this setting seems so familiar?" *A slight smile one of amusement* "Now as far as I'm aware, no one I know close enough to call "My people" has bothered you and yours. Nor do I recall, I myself, has intervene in anything you are doing or set out to do. Be both make risk sitting here as we are. So then, I'm quite sure you have ..The People to look out for, and I have a bottle ol rum wait'n fer me someplace, with a woman that would enjoy the fundamentals of my company. *He smiled deviously* "And your purpose for this here is a relic that someone else seeks?"
Come on, make my night, show me what I want to see

*There is a slight tilting of her head... perhaps with a flicker of disappointment.. of a mind less sharp.* "A play bill... with informing within it.. given once to one.. I wish to read it myself, before another comes seeking it... to see what this might contain."
Shes still being careful. Oh..a race of wits and advantage, amusing

*The sudden change of expression would surely read one of great surprise with a mix of curiosity. He smirked softly* "Now I begin to wonder, whom you've upset." *He leans back moving a strand of hair away from the front of his face* "An honest tongue says, none has come around seeking such. But of course we are not quint enough for you to determine how honest are my words. However..such a thing you seek...well...lets just say, it hasn't been much of an interest since you left the Bleed'n Hearts. How fascinating....You wish to see its contents? Am I to merely provide because you asked? Like a one sided affair..doesn't sound quite fair. Wouldn't you agree?"
Give her a little, and show I dont fear the claim, let's see if she will follow suite

"Oh, I am no man, I never leave without the dancing partner without a proper finish." *There is a twinkle in her eyes, there... a flicker of humor.. at the bawdy reference.*
There she is, thats right, remember whom you once were

*The grin on his face grew wide* "Ah ..there she is..." *Seeming pleased at her remark* "Now I wont consider you dull. *He said playfully rolling a tongue within his mouth* "I think I might be more..." *He paused* "convinced upon hearing, just how.... did you come to think to ask a man ...like...me?"

"I've always said, a coward talks to everyone but you. Those that take the daring bold move are people I can respect very well. Life is more fun if you play games. It keeps things interesting. However after so long, such games become dull. Paranoia, overly careful is like a flat drink. I find it more amusing, when they cast away their fears and worries and take the bold step. Change is always healthy."

The Ultimate Gift

“No experience is wasted,
All experience is learning,
To have yet experience,
Is to be oblivious.”

It's better to be slapped with the truth, than to be kissed with a lie. Never hide your bad side to make someone stay. Instead show your bad side and see who will stay. Because those that do, are the ones you can trust. One day someone will break you so badly, you become unbreakable. If people treat you like an option, then leave them like a choice. People make think you changed a lot, but that's not it at all. Its a lot has changed you.

Life is like a journey. A very long one. And what matters most is the people you travel with or those that you encounter. With the right people, you can carry your boat and it doesn't even feel that heavy. Friends can bring you gifts. But a loyal friend will be you what you had always wanted.

*The item was pulled forth and handed over. The expression of surprise was surely evident. * "Here.. a gift for you." *His eyes was still widen, he couldn't believe what he was looking at. Hesitant to reach for it for the fear it was a jest or an illusion he finally said * "How did you obtain this?" "I had something someone else really wanted. And this, I knew you have been searching for, for many years." *The hand grasp around the hilt* "You really know how to make me feel that I don't deserve you."

While we are living, our lives are like that of an open book, still being written. Eventually, our book closes for us, and to others, it will be as if we never existed at all. Those of us who write down our life story, will leave a little piece of us behind when we're gone. The same goes with something very valuable. Even though they may not be valuable to others, but there is always someone that would cherish it. May it be for monetary reasons, or sentiment ones, everything in life, is something to die for by someone.
“We drink to get drunk, we get drunk to fall asleep, when we fall asleep, we commit no sin, when we commit no sin, we go to the Heaven's."

Business or Company

“Let me tell you this, if you meet a loner,
no matter what they tell you, it's not because they enjoy solitude.
It's because they have tried to blend into the world before,
and people continue to disappoint them.”

Image

The loneliest moment in someone’s life is when they are watching their whole world fall apart, and all they can do is stare blankly. Two possibilities exist, either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying. Each of us would know the misery of being alone. In such a state, we make daring risks for the sake of company. Sometimes doing things we would normally never do. And when we are not lonely, we often take what we had for granted, trusting that each time we reach out, someone is there until they are no longer. The time you feel lonely is the time you most need to be by yourself. Life's cruelest irony. Because when your not by yourself, your with someone and the flood of emotions races rapidly in your beating heart. You disregard your do's and don'ts for the sake of companionship. Thus the first step in your list of mistakes.

Discipline becomes lost, training becomes absent. And before you know it, your turning in your bed wondering how did you get yourself in this strange or bad situation. It's serious, its real. Life can change completely, images and reputation forever altered. Your mistake becomes lore in the books of history, or spoken rumors and tales in a tavern of drunks. The only thing you can do, is decide to come to terms with it , accept it all, your choices and take it with you to your grave. Or, be in denial, make a fool of yourself, struggling to hold what decency you feel that you can still hold on too.

But here's what the cautious person wont tell you. Take the risk. Yes, why not? After all, it's experience. Would you rather be the one that says you have done it, or tried it? Or rather would be fine with only saying...You thought about it but never took the chance? For some people, risks is the very thing that excites us. Death and ruin will come one day, so why not risk excitement over being dull and bore. I'd rather be daring and take the risk and possible enjoy the most excitement I've had in a while, or even share something I could consider special, than to stand in my boots absent of knowledge of how the delectable fruit had even taste. If I die from my choices, at least I can say I wasn't a coward and write my name along the list of non factors. The Leap of Faith isn't for everyone.

When two separate worlds come together in a room, in a rightful situation, they should be at odds. But when they are not, what does that mean? Deals are deals, business is business. Its meant for both parties to part having their own gains. And thus the conclusion of it. But when two worlds continue to linger why is it so? Common goal? To handle a common threat? I couldnt say that in this situation. For here an outside, gives care and weary for a city they do not dwell in. Why is it, an outsider cares more for the home of those that ignores its threat? Do the home owners feel their home will always be there thus why they are neglectful? Or is it the outsider has things or people they cherish?

"And did people look at the right direction of those responsible ...You know, it amazes me on how long it takes for some people to take threats seriously, That ......been lingering in the city's underbelly for nearly a year already. ...but it almost seemed as if, people didnt care."

"People want their instant glory in the light and as the questions being asked were the wrong ones, and the answers sought too much effort to glean... they move to other choice bits that might gain them such. Their roots are not here.... if the city, falls, they will simply seek glory, riches, and fame elsewhere....I have seen places fall in my life time, I do not wish to see the Gate fall. The fall of the Gate would do little good for anyone... but yes, there are friends and allies too in the city worth looking out for as well."

"Does that include me now?"

*Her lips twitch to the side in amusement as she winks.* "Only the future will tell there."
Amusing

*He softly chuckles* "A man can be hopeful, otherwise there's no reason to wake up in the morning. Perhaps in the future, a reason will present itself so we can have these ...talks. Otherwise, I keep elusive in your forest unless I have no choice. Don't go off getting married too soon, never know what fun you might miss."
Would she take the risk?

"As for the friend comment... you have no enemy in me. I still keep to oaths and code I keep... honor amongst .. and all that."
Image

Some business are not business for the sake of business. Some people simply need to do something different from their common norm. Take chance, take risk. I find it more exhilarating myself. To the other set of eyes, I saw a reflection. The need for different, the need for risk, the need for a different company. They say words can have far more meaning then what they define.

"Noted, but I do think I can handle that kind, well enough."
The past never left with time

"Oh a gem..how lovely..."
Gem indeed

Wind's of Fate

"When you can’t change the direction of the wind,
adjust your sails and follow it's direction.
Fate will always set the course for you."

There is no braking system on the boat. Either go forward or stop altogether. Until the day we create machinery to do otherwise, we have but one option. Go where the wind takes you. Fate is an entity one can not always foresee. Anchor if you will, deter if you choose. But the winds of fate will always direct you to the path it set for you. The course can be perilous, or it could be smooth and unmolested.

Image

*The vibrant figure with amber eyes with dark slits emerges along side the man as he was putting on a pair of golden earrings* Ello. Seen a tall dark handsome man around lately. Could have sworn I was follow'n one just now * She tilts her head with a soft grin and a cocked eyebrow*

*Surprised and relief painted on his face* "Oh..my...now this is surely not expected, but not regretted either. I'm pleased to see you still breath and look healthy" *He chuckles then grins devilishly * 'Well does this tall dark handsome fella got a name?"

"Hm? Well always be unexpected. Honestly if you expect to be expected people will expect to expect you to do as they want.... Be unexpected and leave em' guessin... usually also leaves them wanting ye ta be more reliable... but hey... its nice ta be wanted. *She grins a bit, showing her fangs then shrugs* "Probably a few names by now. But I try not to let details get in tha way"

Image

The woman's words held truth. Expectations was always a risk. Expect too much, and you soon feel disappointment. Expect too little, and you make a person feel lacking. Like life, there needs to be balance. Too much corrupts, too little is to know poverty. I wish to ask every man, have they ever lost a valuable treasure? And if so, what would they do upon finding it once again? I assume some may say to hold it dear once again. But truth would be , even if they did, it wouldn't be the same.

"Hm? Yer asking a pirate if some bloke found his treasure? *She laughs at that hard her hand slapping the back of the bench with the humor of that* "Luv. Tha pirate took that treasure and ye ain't seein it again. *She grins at him* "That don't mean ye can't find some similar treasure that feels just as good. Might be made out of tha same lass.... er... gem.... but wanting what was once its gone? Ain't tha way it works. Got ta learn ta treasure what ye find here and now. Maybe it be Better? Still is somethin new."

"Nothing will feel as good, as when the heart beats profound upon .." *He reached up, gently brushing the side of her face* "the best treasure ever found..." *He then slowly nods in agreement* "Aye but yer right.." *Soon a thumb brushes along her bottom lip, tracing the delectable feature as if admiring a sculpture* "I will miss what I had and lost. But the fault be mine."

Nothing remains the same from one moment to the next, you can’t step into the same river twice. Life, evolution, the whole universe of space, time, matter, energy, existence itself, is essentially change. Nothing stays the same and nothing changes. What is old today will be new tomorrow. What is new today will be forgotten tomorrow. Follow the wind and let fate take you where it intends to take you. I'd tell patrons, that I would never had thought of being a bartender of Goblets. But fate had plans for me, even if I didn't. Just as what lurks in the shadows yesterday, wouldn't be in the same shadow today.
