Ameris is seen to congratulate Colwyn, openly stating that it is welcome news and, perhaps, overdue!

Ameris excuses himself from the temple, stating he must be away on a matter of duty for a short period. He leaves in battle gear, but also with his vestments. He does not take many supplies.

Ameris returns to the temple. He seems in fine spirits, and speaks of a heroic venture alongside the Dawnknight Eldarian and followers of a long forgotten god, Jergal.
He is quite open in saying he has not seen their kind before; likewise he is quite open that their swords were righteous. Paladins is the word he uses; if unlike the stereotype. Before their resolve, the risen dead were as wheat before a scythe.
He speaks to the other Adorned of having promised to share the names of those who pass on while under treatment of the Temple of Ilmater with their Faith, so that they can be recorded. He speaks also that they will lend aid in giving last rites to those who pass on, although they understand that this is not to interfere with the Turning. He hopes the Adorned will see the wisdom in this, given the threat undeath has posed to the coast in the last year.

*A small, slightly wounded, dirty, and malnourished Halfling walks in he doesn't give a name simply walks up to the woman and says* "I'm sorry I don't have any coin, but I have this,"
*sets three figures on the counter one looks like a Lizardfolk, another a Kobold, the final looks like Headmaster Rhys* "They may not seem like much but I made 'em ta be toys fer the young ones at the Orphanage, perhaps I can trade ye for some soup and bread?"
After some time he would ask, "If I ever can, I would like ta go ta the Orphanage and play wit the Kids there If I can."
///a physical description of the halfling would look like Edik Skeeto.

No doubt the halfling would have been thanked; but also told that decisions as to access to the orphanage are the remit of Mercy's guardian, Thedran. Certainly this is what Ameris would say should he have overheard the conversation.
Later, Ameris prepares for a journey, taking rations and packing the items needed for an absence from civilisation. He speaks with Brother Marcus and the Sisters discreetly, speaking of a holy duty. He drafts a letter to be left for Brother Colwyn. He then departs, armed and armoured.

///Awww! Ameris is going to visit Uncle Eliphas, right? To have a cup of tea and some biscuits, hm? I'm sure we can also find some Loviataran ladies for him.
And yes, I accidently hit the wrong button and thought I sent him a PM! The laugh's on me! *glares at them all*

*When Colwyn returns to the temple and is presented with the letter left by Ameris his face darkens and he mutters something too low to be sorted out under his breath. He speaks with the sisters informing them that the priest Ameris' duties have called him away from the temple for a time. The templar explains that he will be available to those normally seeking the priest and his counsel or blessings. He reminds the sisters that if he is not at the temple a missive should be sent to the Radiant Heart chapterhouse where he might also be contacted. He then climbs the stairs to his room to pen a letter himself.*

The priest Ameris is still absent from the temple.

Ameris returns to the temple. His mood is bleak, although manners remain in place. He speaks quietly of having pressing duties elsewhere; and that they might resurface soon but that he would look in as often as he could.

Hoihe Dacino, apparently now a half-elf to those of the temple who heard his name before, left in a sour enough mood to invoke tears after a hours-long discussion with Laitae Lafreth.

Having spent the last day or so tirelessly travelling between the temples of Baldur's Gate, Cecilia returns to the temple of Ilmater with a few tomes under arm. For an evening she sits, having added them to the pile already waiting for her on behalf of Brother Ameris. Some of the books are read in great detail, others are flicked through from cover to cover. Never the less, the blonde woman spends many an hour immersed in written word. Searching. Questioning. As dawn breaks, the rays of early morning sun peeking in through the window, only then is Cecilia's gaze is drawn from the pages.

///apologies for the delay in posting this///
The half dozen recuperating slaves rescued from the Underdark City of Sshamath have come to the end of their residence at the Shrine of the Suffering, the temple of Ilmater in Baldur's Gate. Or most of them have, at least.
The immediate contagion crisis saw an outpouring of effort from a wide range of goodly folk as the sick slaves lay listlessly in the Ilmateri emergency camp: Paladins of the Radiant Heart stood watch and deployed their holy touch; the Order of the Silver Rose deployed their Mobile Triage Unit led by the Lady Elvina herself; goodly folk and mysterious priestesses of various ilks lent their aid to stem the suffering. The needs to supply the camp and provide the essentials of clothing and food were met by the charitable donations of musical elves. The Adorned and their Brethren were honoured and moved to see their burden shared.
It must be said that the camp was also visited by those with no obvious desire to help, yet for whatever reason, no wickedness transpired. Whether the vigilance of the watchers over the camp or not aided in that, it is unclear.
In the weeks since the passing of the contagion, the slaves have been slowly nursed back to health by the Adorned of Ilmater and other visitors to the temple. The efforts of Candlekeep revealed the nature of the illness, confirming that it was chiefly one of acclimatisation and weakened resistance. The temple of Ilmater received extensive aid from its allies from the Song of Morning temple in Beregost in counselling the slaves regarding their traumatic experience. Although none of the slaves are unmarked by their experience, they begin to recover and are ready to return to their families and their homes.
An appeal for donations was met with gusto, with donations arriving in the way of deposits made at the Temple of the Shield, gems from an ornate Lathanderite holy symbol, and a massive six figure donation from a paladin named Nathanial Collins, whose vigil over the sick was tireless. Thus supplemented, the resources of the Shrine of Suffering have stretched to hiring caravans and guards for safe passage for the slaves fit to travel, as and when they have recovered enough; with some amount left over to provide a sum to see the returning slaves out of poverty in their new lives.
There is only one exception to this. One of the slaves, a blonde haired young woman in her twenties, has yet to speak in response to any questions. Indeed, she barely reacts in any meaningful way still, content to be fed, cleaned and led around but otherwise showing no motion or instinct of her own. Nothing that has been tried so far has lifted the woman's malaise, which the Ilmateri now suspect is a symptom of a deep psychological trauma. With no other course open to them, the Brothers and Sisters of the Temple have decided to keep her with them and see to her needs, in the hopes that the Broken God will, one day, give them the inspiration to heal her hurts.
///donations made to the Ilmateri attended to. The above is a summary of forum posts and IG RP related to this roleplay; I am sorry if I missed anything and I want to say that there wasn't a single interaction I for one didn't enjoy. Thank-you everyone for the stellar RP in August and start of September; and for partaking in a storyline which still echoes in RP currently. And thank-you for DMogorgon who let us run with it!

// I would like to thank each and everyone of those who participated in this event as well. I was one of a few among the handful of players involved in the prelude to this RP, and while it wasn't meant to grow to the scale that it did, it have been a joy to follow the RP here in the thread and hearing rumors about it ingame. To think that it all started from a small bit of RP between two characters and then seeing it grow to be so much more, is quite spectacular. Thank you to everyone, surface and Underdark player alike who made it all happen.

Ameris is seen shuffling into the shrine of the Temple, in his priestly robes, hands and feet bound tightly. He spends the night knelt in prayer, not partaking of food or water, lips moving in quiet prayer.

A one-eyed man in golden armor stops by Ilmater's sanctuary. He donates a large pan of grilled fish and a second large pan of steamed green beans to the shelter, explaining to the priest into whose arms he thrusts the gifts that the good deed might well serve to take a bad taste out of his mouth.
He then departs the temple.
