The bandits in the area seem curiously unwilling to approach the figure at the shrine. In fact, some of them seem downright frightened.

A large raven is spotted in nearby trees and flying overhead while the figure at the Shrine of Silvanus continues to pray and meditate. To the wary and aware passerby, one might even notice the bush near to the Shrine shift and twitch somewhat nervously as if some living creature were hidden within... a chattering sound coming from it occasionally.

Several days pass as the dark figure on the hill at the Shrine of Silvanus prays and meditates. As the sun goes down on the sixth day a change begins to happen. The wind begins to blow, rustling the trees and a great storm cloud forms overhead.
From a distance travelers on the road can see a faint green glow coming from the hill top. Two figures are speaking, and then a third appears. Silhouetted against the backdrop of an orange sunset, strong winds blowing the trees and a powerful storm cloud over head, the three figures speak for a time and many animals have gathered, though hidden and seemingly frightened, or in awe. After a time, two of the dark figures shrouded in shadow leave and the skies clear and the wind dies, and the sun rises, and all shadows flee. All through the night they spoke to each other, though in a language only a few know.
A deep silence falls on nature.
The figure on the hill looks into the rising sun and smiles, pulls up his hood and calls to his raven. Out of the bushes crawls a giant spider of enormous size and the deadliest of appearances, black with brown markings and many eyes. With a wave of his hand the spider disappears and the raven lands on his shoulder.
He takes his gnarled staff in hand, and without a word he leaves walking south.

To the General observer there seems to be a bit of a buzz in the harbor district of the gate.

Those that pass through the south side of Beregost notice a lot of water splashed around leading to the fountain... those that go to look at the fountain notice about two dozen or so arrows scattered about... no one seems to know what exactly happened there...

Rumors spread of a drow found and killed in Beregost, the sighting was reported to a nearby Fist officer out on patrol and the local temple disposed of the body.

Rumor spreads rampantly of a festival and game hosted by a pair of hins at the Merchant Camp, that strangely left everyone sick for the following day that nothing could cure. Along with the tale, word spreads of a giant chicken, and someone named Noodles the hins used as a mount.

Rumor has it that Trent, the redheaded former leader of the Lathanderite Order of the Morning Sun has returned to the Baldur's Gate region. He has been sighted dressed in black robes and sporting an eye patch, and some even claim that he acted in a mature, appropriate manner.

The notorious ex-Director of a certain ex-merchant cartel was heard by a abundance of tavern-goers as he repeatedly and drunkenly gossiped to anyone that would listen about his 'juicy' news. Apparently a new merchant cartel's higher ups were rather ingloriously cornered and arrested at Maltz's by some private local enforcers the previous evening. And this in front of the gossiping merchant in question and to his obviously relished delight. He went on to say that he had heard rumors that their arrest had been linked to rumors of corruption in powerful organizations around the Gate.

Rumors at the friendly arms inn says that a majestic griffon landed on the roof, and that a dark and tall woman, bearing the mark of the banished and a yellow eye was riding it. The saint of Ilmater, Merielle, has last been seen on that roof. Some of the people at the taverne says that she's been kidnaped by "the beast", some says that the beast has changed and wouldn't do that, some says they disapeard in the sky to the south.

[Sometime later, a larger than normal crowd disperses from Beregost... and it is said through word of mouth that the Saint is safe, well and unharmed.]

Jero, the "six-fingered bard", has been seen in various inns across the Coast, where he was paying rent for his rooms. He was keeping an unusually low profile, not saying a word to anyone except for innkeepers:
"I might be absent for a few weeks or months, so here is the pay for the season."
Next day, as soon as the sun had risen, he and Melisende departed from Elfsong Tavern and vanished into the Graypeak Mountains.
Those who knew him well enough might have noticed how deeply troubled he was.

Rumour has it that guards outside of the gates of Baldur's Gate have been making contemptuous remarks about Helm, and members of his clergy. One priestess of Helm, while leaving the city and passing the bridge, was mocked, and told not not to trip over her cloak. When she asked for a further explanation, and made it clear she was simply wearing the apparel suitable for one of Helm's clergy, she was told by a Flaming Fist guard that "Helm ain't got a bone on Tempos", which was followed by lewd remarks in the general vein of wishing to do private things to the priestess in the evening.

A man with a mask tattoo on his face is seen asking Bentley and other staff of the Friendly Arm Inn about Selah Shartess. He also asks regular patrons if they have seen her. He asks what she was doing or what she may have said to any who answer about the last time they saw her. He makes no effort to hide his identity and says that anyone with any information should seek out Delphinn Veil.
