An odd pair of half-drow, both bearing spellbooks and a multitude of scars, could be seen arriving at the Keep late last night. One of them, dressed as a huntress or something of the sort, seemed largely overwhelmed by the experience, listening to her companion's explanations and scanning her surroundings with awe.

The two women eventually made their way to Winthrop's inn, where they treated themselves to a few portions of roast boar. One of them - she would later go on to introduce herself as "Kay" - ate her meal fairly unremarkably. However, the other - "Aeryn" - seemed dead-set on devouring her food as quickly as humanly possible, twice clearing her plate without regard for table manners, and with only minimal use of utensils. Speaking with an accent placing her in the Dalelands, the girl subsequently explained her conduct through a combination of greatly preferring surface food, not having had a lot of it lately, and never having had such a delicious meal before.

Once the Guide arrived on the scene, it is said that Aeryn expressed considerable interest in staying at the Keep, even asking about the possibility of employment. However, it remains unclear whether her motives are limited to obtaining access to the perceived luxuries of the library fortress, or if there are deeper motives - good or ill - behind her inquiry. Nor is it altogether clear that the young huntress fully understands the requirements of the roles she might wish to serve in... if she is even allowed to make the attempt...

As her allotted time at Candlekeep comes to an end, Aeryn heads out of Winthrop's inn with a certain sense of sadness. Stopping only to buy some supplies, she would wander away from the Keep and disappear into the wilderness. Where she went from there, only a skilled tracker - or a lucky one - could know...

A young half-sun elf starts loitering outside the gates of Candlekeep. Evidently aware of the Keep's 10-day visiting policy, she makes a point of waiting outside after announcing her interest in speaking with someone able to either grant her access to the library or otherwise help her conduct some research.

Around the same time, a sorceress matching her description seems to have stopped visiting the Mystran temple in Baldur's Gate: Although no one there is aware of any meeting between her and the paladin Fenwick, it is clear she has deemed the effort either futile or inadequate.

Having finally recovered from her injuries enough to walk, the survivor fished from the docks of the Gate in 24 Tarsakh 1360, was seen leaving the Shrine of Ilmater by afternoon of 28 Tarsakh 1360. She wandered down the Trade Way, without much purpose, until a few adventurers by the Friendly Arms Inn approached her and tried to communicate with her.
With the efforts of the Selunite knight Lunaethar and the Mystran wizard Sirion, the group was able to learn more about the woman, who goes by the name of Lyka, and her state of mental distress. After a long and difficult chat in Aquan, the group escorted the survivor to Candlekeep.

There, she was granted an audience with the Guide Edelgarde, who took it upon herself to try and make Lyka re-learn Common, possibly helping her to fill the many holes left in her memory.

Before retiring, the Guide led the woman to the local tavern, offering her dinner and a room for the night.

Following a trip to the Ilmateri Shrine at Baldur's Gate, and a quick stop by the Friendly Arms Inn, the amnesiac woman named Lyka was spotted meandering in a stupefied state down the Trade Way.

Despite having fully recovered from her injuries, she appeared to be still suffering from a sickness that would occasionally cause her to regurgitate her meals.
On her way back to Candlekeep, she seemingly got lost and disappeared in the night.

Image

By morning, the Mystran Arcanist Sirion, being concerned about her state after their brief talk at the Inn (and having business of his own in the keep), weaved a Sending to her, and, not receiving response, decided to investigate in person. He found the unconscious body of the woman at the very edge of the cliff near the fortress, overlooking the coast.
Despite her clothes being in a rather sorry state, showing several cuts and lacerations, the woman herself was uninjured, and awoke when prodded.

Image

The two of them then had a conversation by the campfire, with the wizard working on several scrolls while trying to gain a deeper understanding of the woman's origins. Amongst other things, the woman confessed to be often plagued by nightmares about the depths, and creatures lurking beneath the waves.

The dawn of 2 Mirtul 1360 saw the amnesiac Lyka being brought back to Candlekeep by the elven wizard Haldir. Barely able to stand and talk, the woman appeared to be in advanced state of inebriation, and complained about alleged lack of attention by the Guide regarding to her personal issues and education.
After a quick exchange, it became clear that the woman, having wasted most of the night chatting, eating, and drinking with her new friend, had returned to the fortress with some rather skewed perception of what actually happened in the previous days.

Nevertheless, Edelgarde reassured her that she would continue helping her learn the Common tongue, as well as trying to unlock whatever parts of her memory have gone missing since the shipwreck.

A group of four people, one elven male in blue robes, and three women, one of which unconscious and damp, were seen teleporting on the bridge leading to Candlekeep, and hurrying themselves inside, on the night leading to 7 Mirtul 1360.

The group placed the unconscious woman, which the locals would recognize as being the same wanderer who the Guide Edelgarde had started teaching Common in the past tenday, in one of the benches inside the keep, and proceeded to have a conversation about some recent events.
The primary subject appeared to be the woman's past and the possibility of some kind of creature haunting her dreams. While the elven mage helped nurse the unconscious woman to health, the Candlekeeper used her magic to contact the Guide herself, who arrived a while later to administer divine healing and receive a report by the others on what caused her student to return in such a state of distress.

Discussions continued through the remainder of the night, after which the woman began to wake, still shook but seemingly no longer in a state of panic. More questions were asked of her, both by the Candlekeepers and some other curious visitors happening to pass by her bench, and a meal was hurriedly delivered to her by the elven mage from the nearby inn.

After she had her fill and the crowd cleared out, the woman expressed the desire to rest again, and was escorted by the elven wizard and the silver-haired traveler to her room in the inn.

A group of people gathered on the evening of 17 Mirtul 1360 near the cattle farm inside Candlekeep, under the supervision of Isabella Villame and the oversight of Guide Edelgarde.
The group's primary subject was the shipwreck survivor Lykah, who was eagerly conversing with the various people present in her native tongue.
From what could be gathered by the others' responses in the common tongue, the reason for the gathering was to try and test the genasi's response to certain stimuli for the sake of triggering some of her lost memories.

Image

At first, the woman was asked to publicly kill a chicken while staring at its eyes, which somehow led to a digression related to a kobold, then, the tiefling performer Cass attempted to trigger a response by yelling at her in a different tongue known to the woman.

As the crowd started to disperse and the conversation went on, the woman appeared to become increasingly agitated, and mention of the new Chancellor of the Radiant Heart was made. Eventually, the Candlekeeper Isabella led Lykah, the Selunite Luna, and the two Cass to a more private locale. Following another intense exchange, Lykah retired back to her room at the inn to rest. From what could be gathered by fragments of the conversation, Isabella had convinced her to wait in Candlekeep for a day or so.

The new Chancellor of the Radiant Heart, Athros Ravenmoor, visited Candlekeep on the morning of 18 Mirtul 1360. The man met with the Guide, the shipwreck survivor Lykah, and the traveler Cassidy by the gates of the keep, and, after a brief chat, led the three into the nearby inn to have a more private conversation.

The genasi appeared to be particularly stressed and sleep-deprived in the hours leading up to the meeting, as well as during the Chancellor's visit itself. Not too surprising for those who know of her already, the primary subject of the meeting happened to be her past and the trauma that led to her forgetting pieces of it.

After making a few questions and hearing her answers, as well as providing some spiritual advice alongside the Guide, the Chancellor left Candlekeep, and a much more relieved Lykah.

In the night of 19 Mirtul 1360, a strange assortment of adventurers seemed to gather by the lighthouse south of Candlekeep, and talking at length and with some degree of agitation.

Image

Some might claim that, occasionally, a sorrowful, pleading echo would answer from the dark waves past the pier, and it might seem as if the group had been conversing with some kind of water creature.

The subjects discussed appeared of a rather dark nature, and even though opinions amongst the group were disparate, a sense of unease seemed to hang over the gathering from beginning to end.

Image

Little by little, the adventurers trickled away, the last amongst them claiming to be going to Candlekeep in search for further answer. For a while still, after darkness had fallen upon the pier, the echo of an eerie song could still be heard, filtering through the waves...

A curious meeting took place in the public reading room at Candlekeep this evening. Lady Tarina of Darkhold and Lord Osric Vale were seen entering, and a tense discussion was had. As the discussion went long, it turned to shouts and accusations. They spoke of Baldur's Gate and the Zhentarim, of what is evil and right, until finally the Lord Vale departed, followed shortly after by the Witch of Darkhold.

A telltale sign of the fight remained behind: a section of wallpaper in the room was torn from the wall, leaving behind four long claw marks.

Any avowed lodged in the ladies dormitory in Candlekeep would notice the Guide waking up very suddenly and way earlier than usual in a seemingly agitated state. Guards on duty would notice her striding at a brisk pace towards the shrine of the First Scribe and remaining there in prayer for several hours until dawn.
After that, Edelgarde would be seen resuming her usual routine with no mention of the night before unless asked.

A few days pass at the Keep and a visitor is seen more frequently. Ironically it is a Kossuthan Priestess who comes to the Keep in search of something. Scouring books and their titles, though stopping to read some that catch her Golden Red gaze. Things such as a report of some Gnolls of her faith, A book from a charming scoundrel Tiefling, A few stories written by others. However, the priestess continues to look over the spines of what is available to the public, in search of something that may or may not be on the shelves.

Early in the morning, a familiar tiefling flamesister walks into the library of candlekeep. Quietly she looks through the books in search of something. Something related to dreams and how to fend off outside influences.

Rumor has it that a certain Flamesister of Kossuth has provided a new book to the Candlekeep library. However this time isnt isnt like her previous works. Apparently its has something to do with her faith.
