Lion's Way- I was at the Friendly Arm Inn shopping when a gentleman came seeking help. He spoke of a Giant taking his friend. I followed him to the Lion's Way where a Stone Giant and Ogre Mages had captured a Lady. After a brief battle they were defeated and we began to head back to the Inn. As more adventurers began to show Miss Lina one I recognized from last night, we then were attacked by more Ogres. We continued to battle them until Stone Giants were spotted near the druids grove. We fought them as well and their Ogre minions and prevailed. The Stone Giants had been trying to build something on the spot, but what we are not entirely sure. I took the time to gather the bodies with the others and then said a prayer for their souls and ensured to burn them, then resanctify the grounds. After myself and Mr. Dahl headed back towards the Friendly Arm Inn.

Patrol Log 134548


Friendly Arm Inn- I was shopping at the auction when I overheard two Hins speaking about a horrible incident. Miss Inashy and Mr. Dahl (who helped with the Stone Giant issue the other night). Miss Inashy said that one of the Son's of a Noble from house Dogomir had been murdered. She said many about 20 or so came to help investigate and that the Steward has said that the body had been stolen. Shortly after she said that the Stewards guard cut his throat. Then Vampires attacked them all!.. She said many were hurt, some dead and that only a few people survived. I was very shocked to hear this but atleast relieved when she said that most were healed or raised when she had taken them to one of the local temples. She then said that the Fist came and took over the investigation and to guard the area from further attacks.

I did appologize to both of them for eavesdropping even though they were speaking in the open street. I thanked Miss Inashy for what she did and Mr. Dahl later asked where he could buy decent scrolls. I told him about the Wizard in the mansio near Beregost and we all decided to head there.


High Hedge Estate- After a short time in the Wizard's estate, Miss Inashy weary from her ordeal headed to seek some well deserved rest. Once Mr. Dahl had bought the scrolls he needed we then headed to the Northwestern Cloakwood to visit the Mansion there. After hearing of the Vampire attack I thought it a good idea to seek out the one place I know they tend to frequent in hopes of gaining some answers.

Mansion in Northwest Cloakwood- We entered the Mansion and then began our acent to the Third Floor. The Vampiress was not talkative nor did any of the undead I held offer any answers. We sent them to their final rest and Mr. Dahl checked the chests and area for any clues we could find. Unfortunately we did not find anything on the third floor, second floor or the first floor.

Patrol Log 134549


Friendly Arm Inn- I was leaving the Friendly Arm Inn and passing by the fire pit when someone shouted “hey you” to me. I paused and turned and noticed it was Mr. Lao who I had taken to the Mansion in the Northwest Cloakwood a few days ago. He asked for my aid and said that the Fire Genasi standing near the road needed a curse removed from him. The Fire Genasi said he was not cursed. I listened to both got back and forth a bit and Mr. Lao said that the Fire Genasi cursed a miss Avarie. I then inquired as to whom Miss Averie was and a lady sitting on the ground said it was her. At this point I went over to her and asked her if I could remove the curse. She told me she drank a potion that got rid of it. She then yelled something and disappeared. I sensed no magic, could discern no spell being cast so my suspicions rose.

I then went over to the Fire Genasi as Mr. Lao began frantically accusing him of cursing Miss Averie speaking of a Byakee. I then decided it best to go right to the source and end this. I asked the Fire Genasi if I would be permitted to cast remove curse upon him. By doing so I would know if indeed there was a curse in the first place and if so at least it would be removed. I told the Fire Genasi that if there was indeed no curse he would be considered innocent. He agreed, so I cast upon him and there was no curse to remove. After I cast I waited and Miss Averie appeared dramatically. I listened for a while as Mr. Lao explained that the Byakee must be gone and Miss Averie stood up acting fine. It was then that I announced that there had been no curse on the Fire Genasi.

Miss Averie then skipped off and unfortunately Lao stood in disbelief.. I feel bad for him having his friend trick him like that. I spoke to the Fire Genasi and told him if he truly felt harassed that he should perhaps speak to the Fist and if he does I will back up his words that he was not cursed. He did not seem to wish to and I then told Mr. Lao that he should probably seek help for Miss Averie. I suggested a Cleric of Illmater of an Enchanter. A Mr. Milo Greenbottle who was there as well was very thankful. After saying my farewells I continued on my patrol.

I’d recommend being wary around Averie due to this display. I am not sure why she did this but it seemed like a cruel thing to do to an innocent man.

Cloakwood & Cloakwood mine- Be aware that strange purplish men with tentacle mouths are using mind trickery upon people. Was attacked by two such creatures within a day. One made me see and feel things. Felt As if a piece of my being was taken, and a new piece added. What was taken and what was added I cannot say, more of a feeling then knowing for sure. Something no longer feels right within however. Proceed with caution should you encounter such a being.

Patrol Log 134551


Friendly Arm Inn- I was told about a lady warlock who may go by the name of Miss Bellatrax who has been bargaining for people's souls in the cloakwood. She wears one of those revealing outfits and favors a large sword.

Also I overheard a Red Wizard speaking to what I thought was another Red Wizard. Apparently Miss Kororna held issue with the lady wearing a robe that was or looked like the ones the Red Wizards wear. There were threats exchanged between both with Miss Korona seemed to start it. Her exact words were, "I asked you once and you refused, now your fate is left in the hands of those with who's duty it is to enforce. What they choose to do to you is also of not my concern.. but will rue the day"

This disturbes me due to the fact that there is no law set forth by the Dukes outlawing the wearing of such robes by anyone nor has the Red Wizard Enclave been given permission to enforce ANY laws outside of thier own Enclave building. This open declaration made by Miss Korona, I hope since heard by the Friendly Arm Inn guard who was right there and the Auctioneer may not be taken lightly and be corrected. I hope the Dukes are made aware of such as that would most certainly be against their origional declaration about allowing the Red Wizards to walk freely in the region and upholding them to the same laws as everyone else. I will inform the first Fist Captain I meet about this as well so atleast due dilligence is performed. Threats like this are dangerous.

I spoke to the lady who was threatened and asked her where she got her robes, I did not get a name though. I do remember what she looks like however. She said she bought them from a vender in Candlekeep. I asked her if she was saying she was a Red Wizard and she responded with a resounding No. I then told her is it unwise to wear such robes or even ones that look similar if they were indeed a seamstress' attempt to copy the fashion. Not because of the statement Miss Korona made but because others would more then likely view her as such and treat her harshly or at the very least not trust her at all. It comes with wearing such robes. Other then the arguing which was going on I see no reason why Miss Korona would have made the statement she did. I decided to let the lady know that if she has any more trouble to find a Knight of the Order of the Silver Rose, go directly to a Fist Guard or seek other lawful authorities. I personally will be watching as always.

Patrol Log 134552


Northern Farmlands- I made my way to where miss Tamina Lightstep was to have her sentence carried out to find many people in attendance and even more Fist Soldiers surrounding the gallows. After a while of listening to the crowd the Fist then brought forth Miss Tamina. There were a few moments of commotion and the crowd saying a few things and then the Fist allowed Mis Tamina some last words. I turned away when Lady Elvina approached to bow and greet her as also Mr. Lomir showed up as well. We spoke a moment and then it seemed chaos broke out..

The Fist officer next to us seeing us begin to reach for our weapons told us to stay out of it as the battle broke out. It seemed to me as we watched that Pirates had been in disguise and had begun a rescue attempt. A sharp cry rang out as a Fist Archer plummeted from the high observation area above. It was then that we spotted it.. A Bateezu attacking the Fist Archers keeping them from fireing their arrows on the pirates below. It was a horrible sight to behold as it tossed, burned alive any Fist Archer it came close to. Lady Elvina and I acted, myself turning the creature keeping it still and she hitting it with some spells as the Fist Archers and Lomir shot at it with arrows until it was defeated.

Unfortunately when the battle was over many laid hurt or dead. We helped to heal those we could and it seems four pirates fell in order for Miss Tamina to escape. I can’t exactly write of what happened in the battle below due to dealing with the Bateezu, so what happened there will need to come from another who witnessed it. The Fist rallied and then took the bodies of their fallen and then the bodies of the pirates away.

On a side note, I must say the Pirate crew did show great loyalty to give their lives to rescue their Captain. Something we should make note of in case we ever have an encounter with them.

Rumors start that a mummy has been sighted at night in Cloakwood forest.

"Elisa and I saw it..." a farm hand is overheard saying... "it was moaning and slowly making its way over the river... it was horrible... then it saw us... and... well... vanished.... we ran like the (person)!"

"what were you and Lady Elisa doing in the forest at night?" the farm owner exclaims with a glare at the boy.

Similar stores pop up from others who venture into the wood at night. All of them recall the creature as terrifying.

Parents start telling their children stories of the Mummy of Cloakwood... ooooooooooo... to keep them from venturing too far from their cottages.

Soon the Knights of the silver rose hear about the rumors. and citizens asking them to verify if the rumors are true... and cleanse this menace.

*Regular Patrols through the forest to the haunted mansion prove to be uneventful, no ghosts or undead are spotted outside the evil undead-filled place. Lady Elvina, commander of the Silver Rose, was spotted heading that direction as well, her spirit companion by her side.*

Cloakwood- I made my way to the Cloakwood after hearing “rumors” of a Mummy within. It is said the Mummy vanished when it saw someone so this has left me skeptical. Upon arriving I met Lady Elvina who told me she had already been patrolling and had found nothing and needed to retire for the evening. I stayed to continue the watch and a young man named Eden came running up. I was worried for him being so young and in a forest known for its dangers. He informed those of us who were around the little campfire that he was there to pick herbs for some mages and said he thought he saw the Mummy picking some as well. He also said it was walking faster than a zombie which is very unaccustomed to Mummies as their gate is very slow. He also said it was as big as me, Height wise that would fit for a Mummy, but size wise itself is very abnormal for a Mummy since they are rather slender in form. This furthers my skepticism of it being a Mummy. He did however say it had a horrible stench to it whatever it was.

I then excused myself from the group when a wizard's fire elemental caused a disturbance among perhaps a druid who had showed up. I continued the patrol to the central and western Cloakwood and found no mummy or anything that would appear to be one. I then checked the place the young man said he saw the mummy and again nothing. The entire time I was patrolling I had cast upon me the spell detect undead. I sensed nothing in my patrol.

Based on what we know so far I do not believe it is a Mummy. Mummies will attack upon seeing the living and they never retreat. They will continue to attack until it is destroyed of it kills the living. I believe it may be a Leper if anything but not a Mummy. Due to their disease as it progresses they often need to the use of bandages to help them with their infected areas and easily mistaken for a Mummy. The Herbs may be needed for ointments or other medicines. As to why it disappeared, it could simply be a trick of the night or eyes as someone with such an affliction would generally try to remain out of sight for fear of being attacked. We should continue our patrols as we always do and hopefully in time we will find out the truth.

Thank you for the report, it's as I expected. I detected no ghosts or spirits either on my patrol. As this could be a trap, have everyone be vigilant as always on their patrols.
