When drawing near, there can be seen two gagged and tied figures. The first figure, a gnome carried by the elf, and the other an unbearded dwarf carried across the back of the boar are then thrown down rudely in front of the Inn. The elf take a bird feather quill and pens a note in elvish.
"These creatures were seen to be selling license to hunt the unnatural minotaurs of the cave within the Cloakwood. They did so proclaiming the need for gold by a unknown Goddess of the Forest. I found within the contents of there boiling pot, the bones of both spiders and humans, most likely those of the Druids of that Forest. I leave these creatures to your proclaimation of guilt. I pray the Circle whom over sees this forest and their Elders are made to pass judgement upon their actions."
The Elven range is then seen to stride south with the boar high stepping at his side.

A lone elf figure steps out in front of the ranger some time later, bearing the note he would recognise as the one he had left near the inn. This second elven ranger looks tired and haggard, but bows politely in greeting to the elf, (or with a nod of familiarity if the elf is known to him), before addressing him in a polite and even tone:
"Greetings of nature upon you, my kin. These dwellers of the forest eat the bones of the druids and limbs of spiders, you say? That is a most disgusting notion, if ever I had heard one. Who are they, and where might they be found now? I will keep a vigilant watch on them in my patrols, and make sure they will get what is coming to them."

Three false druids, dressed in poorly cut and filthy brown robes, with horned skullcaps, set up once again outside a cave deep within the Cloakwood. Signs proclaiming that licenses were required for minotaur hunting were scattered around their rough camp.
A small bag of coins lay to the side, next to a pile of official looking parchments with Minotaur Hunting License scribed at the top. Clearly these false druids had a lucrative scam underway.
Then arrived a mighty dwarf Servant of the Oak Lord. His wrath was palpable, and his ire substantial. Upon the request of the false druids for coin, the mighty dwarven Master of the Wild did transmogrify into a dragon of legend!
The three false druids were chased from deep in the wood's heart to the very edge, and out to the Inn. Sadly, there their trail was lost...
Later, and in a completely unconnected chance of fate, the druid and his ranger companion did find three honest working men talking around a campfire near Candlekeep.
The three men kindly offered to carry a message from the Druid's Circle. In the unlikely event that they might meet any false druids, they agreed to tell them that selling licenses was frowned upon. And to explain that dragons have a very good sense of smell.
As for who these mysterious false druids might be? Perhaps their origins will remain a secret as deep as the forest itself...

The clicking of bones and ambling of fleshless limbs was bathed in the pale moonlight of evening, the Tradeway North of Beregost swamped with the soulless bodies of undead. No sooner than having crossed the threshold from the fenced safety of Beregost are the small group assailed by the first of many walking dead. Dawnknight Eldarian leading the charge alongside Dawnbringer Cecilia, the two - accompanied by both Ivan and Sparrow - responded to the reports of undead to the North.
Venturing further down the worn and dusty road used often for caravans and adventurers alike, the sickening crack of bones echo in the almost silence of night as further skeletons find their rest. It is Ivan's keen eye, however, that brings about a chilling realisation. The Druid is wordless at first, before moving briskly to the shrine of Mielikki; or rather - where the shrine had once stood.
"The Shrine of Mielikki." he states on approach, gazing over the scene at his feet.
"The hells..." The figure, carved in perfect likeness to the Forest Queen herself, lay in broken shards on the ground. In it's place. . . an altar bathed in blood. Surprise and anger both evident in Ivan's exclamation, the breathless horror of the Lathanderites echo his statement.
"The shrine. . . terrible."
". . .disgusting. What in Lathander's breath is this?"
Attention shifts and is drawn to the altar itself, stained with blood both old and new. The image was a poignant one, the stone and wood gleaming in the pale glow of the moon. Under order and bound to duty, Cecilia reaches for one vial of many from her belted waist. No sooner had her fingers touched the cool glass of the blessed liquid does a presence stir from within the altar itself. A fierce battle ensues as the ghostly apparition makes itself known, a flurry of blows raining down as both vampire and skeleton knight flock to their aid of their master. Abomination eventually destroyed, sweat is wiped from the brows of the combatants with ragged breaths. . . yet the bitter taste of desecration remains.
The altar is bathed in holy water by the Dawnbringer's hand, a particular symbol now glaringly obvious.
Flashback.
"I recognise this. . ." The words hold a chill as they are spoken, blue eyes of the woman finding the Dawnknight easily in the dim light of night.
"The Lord of Murder." None would have to see the faces of those present to know their expression held a furrowing of brows. Even Sparrow, vigilant in her search of remains pauses and looks up at the words.
"Be sure to make the area holy once more, Cecilia." come the orders from the Commander of Templars, his lips thin as he gazes over the scene. A solemn nod is given in response, the altar destroyed with blunt blade and the impact of divine strength. Shattered, it's pieces litter the earth it had sought to claim and thus the purification in Lathander's name begins; the faith of the Forest Queen venerated in the process. Time is spent sifting through the remains of both shrine and altar, Ivan and Sparrow working dutifully in the desire for clues.
Answers. Those of the Dawn tend to ever-present duty in the destruction and consecration of the unholy taint in the meantime.
Task completed, the trail of footprints is followed North. . .

He maintains a lone vigil over The Mother Guardian's shrine. It has been two days since he arrived and so far nothing has given him any cause for concern. If anything, his stay there provided a measure of peace from the troubles that had befallen his own god's shrine. Eldath be praised.
And for that he reminds himself that this shrine, too, could have the same fate. It was the reason he was keeping watch over the Reaching Woods in the first place. For how many of nature's sanctuaries around these lands have been defiled in any number of ways? He knows the answer to that all too well...

After a brief meeting with followers of the Oak Father, a golden haired sun elf can be see making his way from the Friendly Arm Inn to the north with much haste. He leaves messages at various places, and continues north toward the forests.
The name "Mendel" is overheard, but no other information is given.

Nai and Mendel visit the shrine of Mielikki, North of Beregost. After cleaning the area around the shrine and removing the weeds, they plant an Oak seedling close to it. It was a request from someone close to a fellow ranger, Lambe. Once they are done, Nai and Mendel visit the grove and while Nai plays around with Nihm, he spends some time inside the cabin and writes a letter for Lambe

A bird perches curiously in one of the many trees in Cloakwood.
The feathered thing’s head tilts to and fro and its beady eyes shine with vibrant intelligence as it watches a few adventurers pass.
The gentle flapping of wings is heard, however, when a certain woman with copper hair saunters in between the trees and it swoops down to her to deliver its message complete with the seal from The Song of the Morning.

A short message is left in a strange script in various locations around the coast where druids might gather.
Written in Druidic.
"The flock will gather in the Reaching Wood tomorrow, outside the Green Lady's house, to sing songs of the tainted harvest to one another."
There will be a meeting at the shrine of the Green Goddess in the Reaching Woods on Tarsakh the 17th to discuss the walking dead.
//PM me if you are interested in this RP! Meeting will likely be around 2100-2200 GMT.//

After speaking to the archdruid Ivan, Thistle wanders lightly to the shrine of Mielikki and leaves a note for Vendor:
"Hello there, I am Thistle a scout living in and serving for Gullykin. I follow the Supreme Ranger, Mielikki, and I heard about your Circle. I would like to join you, as long as you need another ranger. I am good at tracking and stalking too, in my humble opinion. Please write to me or look for me in Gullykin or the adjacent woods. Thank you."
Written with many stains and blurred words.
