Herran addresses a letter which he also delivers to the fist at Baldurs Gate.

He writes about the person now held at Candlekeep for murder of a Seeker there. He explains that while the attack happened on Baldur's Gate territory both the killer and Herran were carried to Candlekeep as it was the closest place to raise Herran. The killer was held for a bit at the Keep to try and determine if Herran was murdered for being a seeker of the keep, or if he was murdered for another reason.

The murder was witnessed by two others who are both willing to testify against the killer.

Questioning at the keep has not revealed the reason for the attack.

Herran goes on to apologize for holding a prisoner that technically should be tried by the Fist and punished according to the Dukes laws. He also explains that he is not only a seeker of Candlekeep, but also the Director of the White Mask Theater. So the attack was not only against a seeker, but also against a resident of the Palace District of Baldurs Gate.

He finishes the letter by stating that the killer is currently in the Keeps holding Cell awaiting the fist to come and take him back to the Gate for justice as seen fit by the Dukes laws. Or if they prefer, members of the Keep can deliver him to Baldurs Gate.

Awaiting your decision,

Herran Hymm

Director of the White Mask Theater and Seeker of Candlekeep

After some time without answer to his letter Herran goes to see Wendel. "What if the fist do not wish to take this man to serve out justice? I mean with this thing going on now with Kestral. The fist may have no interest what so ever in coming to take the one who killed me away."

"Does this mean we let him go on his own accord? He certainly has not relinquished his attitude towards myself, or an one else around here."

"Whatever it is the Keep decides, I will abide by, of course, but, i believe you can understand my discomfort with simply releasing him."

Rattling bars can still be heard within the guard house and any that inspect the cell will see the formerly attractive man, bruised and sickly, blood dripping from the bindings that have cut deep from his struggles. He sits in the corner, eyes red with blood and skin turning a yellowish grey. Despite his miserable condition he has a wide grin on his face and can be heard mumbling from time to time.

"Where are the Fist? You can't even get a man hanged properly and you call yourselves scholars.... or you can let me out.. I would like to show you what happens when I get out... your throats will gurgle and pop and crack and snap when I get out... You should not have kept me so long... perhaps your jester will try and come sing me another song."

*Due to the lack of reply or interest in taking the man into custody from the Flaming Fist and Candlekeep's lack of desire to execute people except under extreme circumstances (or for damaging books), Wendel asks Herran to meet with the Gatewarden soon to arrange to have the man ejected from Candlekeep, and that he barred re-entry to the Keep for any cause on pain of death. Wendel also advises the Avowed that they have his blessing to respond to the least future provocation from this man with lethal force*

Herran sighs and with a slight frown, "As you wish Guide, and as discussed, i shall steal away a lock of his hair so that he could be scryed should any similar incidents be found against myself or any other avowed in the future. I shall do so using ... uhm ... a semi-rough treatment? ... so he does not notice what we do."

Herran meets with the gate warden and discusses the plan for expelling the prisoner and retaining the lock of hair, then, along with two other guards go in to release the prisoner, who leers and jeers as they enter.

Herran completely ignores the almost mad rantings of the prisoner and simply explains the terms of his release. That he shall not ever enter the Keep under penalty of immediate death and should -any- avowed be discovered as having been mistreated in any manner similar to how Herran was attacked, he would be hunted down, killed, and his body burned.

Leaving his bloodied bindings as they are, and now gagging the man, they take him in their grasp and lead him out through the grounds to and through the front gate. Not an easy task as the man continues to fight and struggle against the guards, more then once head butting one or both of them as they go. The guards of course using the mans attacks to acquire the hair from his scalp that they desired for scrying purposes.

As they clear the entry Herran throws a dagger into the ground about 15 yards away and turns to the guards instructing them to let the man go so he can release himself from his bindings.

The man, however, surprises them all. Instead of heading for the dagger, the man ducks down and charges Herran head first in what is an apparent attempt to knock him off the cliff and down into the ocean. The attempt was almost successful. For Herran was caught completely off guard and would have fallen had it not been for one of the guards at the last second grabbing Herran by collar of his armor and hanging on for all he was worth. Herran was knocked over the cliff, but the guard managed to fall on the path and stop the fall, dislocating his arm in the process.

The prisoner was not so lucky. In his attempt, he himself went over the cliff, slamming into the rock walls on the way down, before disappearing into the sea ...

*Wendel frowns a bit when he gets the report*

Well, praps that ends that...however it would not be the first time an escape by a seemin death leap from the causway occurred. Best we are still watchful for a time.

*Wendel arranges for some of the Candlekeep mages to begin a scrying on the hair collected. If they determine the man to be anything other than a dead body at sea they are to report it at once. In the event they do find he was not killed somehow, they are instructed to maintain the scrying until something prevents them doing so or are ordered otherwise or one week passes and the see no signs of the body doing anything other than first bloating and then sinking into the ocean*

Very late in the evening, Mila returns from her journey and makes her way into Candlekeep looking for Seeker Laitae. However she first runs into her fiance Herran and recounts to him what she found during her recent scouting in the Woods of Sharp Teeth. While sneaking around the western edges of the Woods of Sharp Teeth, she had noticed a wagon along the road, not really an unlikely sight but she carefully stayed out of sight to watch it traveling along anyways. Before long the wagon full of crates was being led off the road and into the forest on a makeshift path. Considering the inhabitants of the Woods, this was a little surprising and so she decided to follow along to investigate. The going was very slow and a few hours passed and she figured they must have been a couple of miles into the Woods when the wagon stopped.

Safely watching from a distance, Mila also noticed some orcs hiding among the trees and she decided to not dare approach further lest she risk being seen so she hid amongst the trees to watch the proceedings. Some very powerfully built orcs emerged and began conversing with the wagon master, whose face she could not quite make out. These are the biggest orcs she has ever seen, in fact, very foreboding in appearance. At this point she is too far away from the orcs to hear them and cannot make out what they are saying. However, the wagon master opens one of the crates from his wagon and pulls out what appears to be some rope, chains, large wooden kogs and gears to fit them.

During the commotion of the unloading of the crates she is able to sneak in a little closer in an attempt to get a better view. Someone unfolds a large parchment and the orcs begin pointing at various spots on it as it is held up in the fading light. She is close enough to see what looks like a blue print for a catapult or some other type of siege equipment though she is still too far away to note any detail and knows it wouldnt have been wise to approach any further.

More movements of figures come from the Woods and at this point she decides this tidbit of information might be enough and as well the threat of danger was increasing quickly so she carefully began to make her way back toward the road and made her way to the Keep.

Finishing her story and tired from her journey, Mila asks Herran to pass along the information. They spend the rest of the evening talking of wedding plans and various details pertaining to that though no date or anything specific is discussed.

*Herran returns to the Keep and hears word of Milas' search for him. He tells them he had disappeared for a while, and has no idea how or why only that he returned shortly to a few anxious friends who had witnessed his disappearance in a burst of flames.

Without a word Herran turns as if in a trance and wanders off again. No one knowing the where or why. Any who call after him, get no reply.*

*Is Mila justified in her concern?????*

a man armor-clad in dark finely crafted full-plate walks inside to the gates, and seeks the first blue robed man he finds.

"you are scribe in here, eh?" he ask, his black long hair hold by a strap behind his back, in where resides two blades.

"Yeah, well.." he scratches his chin. "i'm looking for a fellow named Hoihe, or someone named like that, heard the man might be found from here.. I'd like to have a word with him.. Can you tell him, that a man named Kierran Naver is looking for him..?"

His grey-green, hazy eyes meets the scribes. He then rises his fist over his chest, over the platemate in which a skull and a lily are engraved, and he bows slightly from the waist. "Tell him, he can find me from Friendly arms inn... Thank you for your help" the man mutters, eyes around and nods to the scribe in the end, turning and walking straight out.
"That is not dead which can eternal lie,
And with strange aeons even death may die."

*At Teos suggestion, Herran checks in at the infirmary where he tells Abigal of his nightly visions. Visions of being carried away to a strange place by fire. A place full of plush pillows and shadows dancing in the light of the candles. A place full of the sweet smell of incence. *

*This night there is something new however, he goes to bed in the infirmary, where he can be monitored by nurse Abigail. As is normal for him, he awakes on the floor next to the bed, however this time he is covered and intertwined by the pillows and even the mattress's from not only the bed he was sleeping on but the bed that was next to him, nurse Abigail stands over him wide eyed watching. He suddenly blushes deeply and tries to pull the sheets over his head trying to hide, even though he is properly clothed, having the feeling of being naked and exposed.*

*when she asks him what he is feeling .. and why he is hiding , he simply replies " there is no fear, or discomfort, but rather ... a sense of pleasure .. and desire to return" with that said he asks her to please say nothing of this to Mila, for he does not wish for her to worry about him.*

Hoihe lately becoming more and more an expert of dreams, he would also offer to help Herran. He would explain the process of lucid dreaming, the ability to understand that you are sleeping and consciously be present. He explains achieving it requires training but everyone's capable of it. First he tells Herran to check if he is dreaming or not every single hour at least once... Just to get a hang of it. He will then explain with further training Herran could shape his dreams to however he sees fit, change his form within to whatever or alter the dreamscape.

He would also offer his friends' help, Amarven and Merek whom are capable of dream walking, should Herran consent. He explains he wants to learn dreamwalking himself, but he is yet to see with Merek if he can even start.

And of course... He would interrogate Herran on whether he was exposed to strange gems lately or psionic forces.

Herran chuckles at the questioning and simply states " If not for the wanderings .... i would actually welcome the dreams, for they are quite pleasant and comforting"

"As for the exposure to psionics or gems? ... certainly none ... at least that i recall or am aware of."

"This dream walking thing though?" laughs lightly "While it sounds most intriguing, i care more for a dream that leads me and my imagination then to have my imagination lead a dream. Somehow, that just " *shrugs* " Does not sound right some how."

"Besides" grins wide " I am no elf. Revery is not my way, nor within my ability."
