But the only problem with filling these roles is that they are unrewarding "Mechanically" in this server.
I would prefer RP rewards, myself.
But I think you're unfortunately barking up the wrong tree. There are PLENTY of non-adventuring types of PCs currently active on BGTSCC, doing far more related to the "professions" you listed above, than adventuring/killing/etc. AND, they're influencing Storylines and Campaigns...getting the real RP reward, directly (i.e., it feeds back in the RP of the PC, and then further and more so after that).
Surprisingly enough, you'll find that these Player types are also DM types...if you catch my drift.

I believe what you are saying here is in regards to a want for more avenues and mechanical structures to be provided for playing more mundane character arch types, that were never really the emphasis or focus of the game that this game draws inspiration from as a video game simulator/emulator/modular campaign for making DnD Game Words.
My most known character is Jand Auren, and so I can see where your assumption comes from, but it is not the case.
What the server needs is quests and more sandbox feel, so that PLAYERS can initiate quests, with REAL mechanical rewards. Not Rp rewards, not drag the enemy to the fist and hope a DM is around, but REAL mechanical rewards. I am especially thinking usables related to alignment restricted quests.
I am also talking about players feeling like they can impact the server. And I don't mean a statue for big DM events, with names on it. I mean like items in the loot table, etc. And I don't mean via DM reward, I mean via some kind of acclimation quest or other such things. Things to give players a reason to explore dungeons, etc... ...especially if you level restrict them to make them difficult, or impossible to solo.
I also think things like "high scores" for wolf hides turned in, rewards for minotaur horns etc. I like that right now there is a merchant in soubar that pays different prices for hides, etc. That is pretty neat.
Right now, fist of the forest is about impossible..... ...but I see food sometimes sold to merchants, so I know there is a food/cooking system coming.
There are no Indians to play token roles and flesh out the setting.
I have about 60 indians. My characters are all mostly side characters, because none of them have a presence. Maybe they will once my grand scheme is in place, which is probably never, because it is too much work......and frankly, most people, IMHO, don't even understand roleplay, even if they say they do.

I said lose. Not die. There are a lot of ways to lose other than dying.

But does losing ever truely bare a coincidence other then failing the mission and altering the story of the mega-plot? Some would see that as a very minor lose and others via the true rp fanatics would find it devastating IF it was in correlation with their characters. And again wouldn't care weather they won or lost if the rewards were great enough.

ADD: But i'm sure there are DM's who would give them an incentive to go out of their way to achieve such goals.

I think most people are over-complicating the discussion.
I've played on this server on and off, played PnP for years, DM'd in PnP for a few years, and I've RP'd for about 12 years now.
There's one thing that holds true for all of them. If someone wants to RP, they'll RP. If they don't, they won't.
You don't need to establish 'mechanical benefits' to encourage RP. If you do, it serves to cheapen the experience. Because a guy whom is RPing for a mechanical benefit, isn't there to add to the story.
On the other side, this is not a Heavy RP server. It's pretty much not enforced, just expected. So if Sir-GrindsALot runs past you to nab some sweet, sweet xp. That's his prerogative, and you shouldn't be upset that he plays the game the way he wants.
Just like in PnP, there are people here for the game-play, and loot. And others here for the story and RP. This server has done itself a great job of catering to both sides of the fence, and you shouldn't expect others to bandwagon a particular play-style, if they don't want to.
If you guys want really high end RP, establish it with friends. That's how people have been doing it on PnP since its inception. It's really not difficult to have a good time, and build a story with your pals. Anyone whom has DMd in PnP knows that. DMs also know that it's the players that actually make the story, not the DM. So be good players and story-weave, you'll improve the server without even having to rant. How cool is that?

So far the adventure party experience is pretty much what it seems many people here are asking for.
I think I might get more RP XP than kill XP even when we're in the dungeons.

When the server was up, but it was announced that it would be wiped later in the day while they worked out bugs, it had AT BEST, 11 people online, for the "RP experience"
Can we PLEASE get real?
Jand Auren deals in gems... ...which have really ONLY RP value, but at least kind of a nice aesthetic. I would LOVE it if most people preferred gems to gold...
...but....
Let's be real. People want GOLD. Why? Because you can buy things in shops with GOLD. You can carry around as much GOLD as you want. You can teleport with GOLD.
Mechanical is what everybody wants.
I could get into human nature, and why people deny who and what they are, but I'd rather just not go there. Let's just say, you can always RP in chat.
THIS IS A GAME WHERE PLAYERS ACCUMULATE GP AND XP TO BECOME MORE POWERFUL.
You don't need to establish 'mechanical benefits' to encourage RP. If you do, it serves to cheapen the experience. Because a guy whom is RPing for a mechanical benefit, isn't there to add to the story.
If this statement is true, with all of its accolades and +1's because it sounds so nice and idealistic....
Let's go ahead and pull the RP XP system, and pull XP for DM events...
...and listen to the howls of discontent.

No, you're wrong about it. People want things that would serve as mementos of their journeys. A "stepping stones" you can remember. You can remember moment where you "ding", when you find a fine sword, when you got enough gold to finally afford that awesome thing you were eyeing at the store. Or when you have a critical once-in-a-lifetime event in your character's journey.
The gold by itself has no value. The purpose of the xp, gold and items is to provide "anchor points" that you will remember later.

Yes, and you'll have more fun if you resist the urge to grab every xp point you can get hands on. It is painful to see someone running off to every quest-giving npc they meet, as if they were being dragged by a magnet while they're in "adventure" group.
