Last week some one painted a penis on my halflings face there where many people around as it was at the arms inn.

No one said any thing about it oocly some one even went as far to say my hin deserved it and she was totaly right and i think evry one had a good laugh about it.

and there where DM's online and none of them came to my aid on a white horse to say PG13!!!

I voted Yes with out erp as i dont think erp adds any thing to the rp (you can fade to black)


PS. On a side note some words like tit or penis shud be able to be said in funny moments like i described above.

Although I am up for changing another aspects of the server (actual UD/surface thread comes to my mind), in this points I think it should stay as it is. In fact, we have violence, torture, assasinations... To put an example, not much time ago a char was sacrified to Lloth! The fact here is how deeply the action is described. Coming back to the previous example, if you describe how the knife penetrates the body with every single detail, that would be PG18, and I honestly think is not necessary.

Ehm... given there is one no. And 3 yes... will they get added to one another and the ruling majority decides the conditions of the rules? I realise it ain't an official pole with nessesarily a promise of happening. But just curious

I would say that someone voting for one yes option does not automatically assume they would be in favor of any other yes option before the no option. A new poll would need to be made with a simple yes/no, and we can clarify from there.

LOL. I think everybody will find that drawing genitalia is exactly what a 13 year old would be doing.

I voted for number 3 myself, with more violence no ERP. I have another idea to toss out there. Obviously none of our PCs want to be on the receiving end of some of this 'detailed violence'... What about allowing DMs to run 'violent' events for consenting 18+ Adults where the PCs are free to swear and detail violence themselves? This would open them up to some more grisly horror events, like imagine a DM running the PCs through something from the Saw movie. Or a DM showing the true effects of war without merely saying 'People are suffering'.

I didn't vote. I don't really care for polls. Especially in an intelligent literary community such as this.

I voted for 18+, but PG-13 isn't as restrictive as many think it is, DMs included. You'd be surprised how many violent action flicks have been given a PG-13 rating over the years. You can easily INSINUATE what happens or describe it without going into specifics.

I personally prefer 18+ over PG-13, but I can work within the latter.

This is the crux of it for me. Having 18+ excludes a lot of people based on content that, if the server was 18+, they could not avoid. But PG-13 lets a lot happen "off camera" or by insinuation.

Does it really exclude people though? I mean, if we are all being honest with ourselves we can all admit ERP and torture type stuff happens. Is it a big deal now? Why does decriminalizing that type of RP make everyone think there are suddenly going to be massive orgies in the courtyard of the FAI? It will remain largely private and between consenting players because for one, intimacy is private by nature, and two, public torture is a good way to blow your secret bad guy cover...

The things people are arguing against happen already, and in the years I have been here I have not once "accidently" seen it. But for the sake of keeping the server open to all, what if we kept the rating as PG-13 and simply stop punishing people for behavior that is between two consenting players (and possibly still excluding ERP, I honestly don't care about ERP one way or the other...). So basically, PG-13 with allowances made for adult themes if all involved parties give consent, or is the PG-13 crowd not willing to make any concessions?

Think the problem is legal issues. Especially with the server being based off US. You know those pesky Americans love to sue everyone and everything under the sun.

Don't deny us our culture of entitlement.

The main problem isn't mature adults portraying mature themes; it's immature not-quite-adults, who look to shock other people because they think it makes them mature.
