Please don't let this go down the 'EDM isn't that good' road. Yeah, the requirements are high, but it's the sort of feat that makes you make good building choices. Paladins should be raising strength and charisma, they benefit in other areas by doing so! They can also super buff charisma and strength. 30 charisma paladins (easy enough to get with 22 base +8 from spells) with EDM is crazy damage! 20 divine damage every hit, bypasses all immunities on the server and crits! Throw in that high strength plus power attack (because you were 'forced' to take that too) maybe even improved power attack and the damage really starts to stack up.
This is my personal opinion:
Paladins and their spellbook don't need a buff. They are very good in groups against pve. They are very good against bosses. They are lethal in pvp if they are against an opponent they can smite ... otherwise they rank right alongside a normal fighter (they suck at pvp). In events they can play a defining role, but to do so they need to show a bit of patience and not waste their spells and abilities on lesser foes. What they probably don't do well is solo grind. But that isn't really the over-arching goal of the server and besides, they aren't the only class that doesn't favour solo-grinding, not by a long way.
Paladins are quite good in this PW's climate. Are they the best, most dominant class around? No. They've already seen a few changes over the years. If any more were to be made I'd propose adding PrC's that will benefit a non-casting style of Paladin gameplay, rather than buffing the existing class. It is already very well balanced for our server.
