Really ? Without consequences ?

Why aren't drows walking around already then ? Where is the limit ?
Instead of blissfully running on the slippery slope of ignoring NPC reactions/changing them so radically compared to the rest of Faerun how about making the above characters feel unwelcomed as they should be ? Surely biggotry and prejudice weren't rooted out, not to mention those have pretty serious bases on Faerun, especially true for the Orcs in BG.

while its not that i dont understand what the nay sayers are sayin, but id like to point out that the arguments on them being the norm is a bit moot dont you think? because consider if they were always available, rarity would mean people would have to not pick races or classes that get them, so again the sheer amount of high level FSs blows that out of the water but yet no one wanted to see FS changed
adding wings, like other various things before it, would give availability to something that -should- have already been... so its not so much accepting that people suddenly have tails, wings and horns because they would have already been there, but it seems people want to simply ignore the fact because they cant somehow handle it but yet can handle dragons, trees, wolves and such running about in their party
im i really the only one who finds that odd?

Yet Dragon's Wolves, moving trees and all that is the norm of this setting. Everyone and the mother running around with wings is not. If someone wants wings maybe just lock it to having to type up an application background thingy if wings are going to be in. Just to keep /everyone/ from doing it.

"They should have had wings" is a kinda specious argument because had the FS had wings from the start of the server this problem would have surfaced .. at the start of the server and the RP around FS would have been different than what it had been until now.
Introducing wings now would make some past RP dubious because of the possibilities wings do offer :
"Why didn't you fly to cross that river ?"
"Oh .. uh ... I had wing-ache you see, couldn't fly that day."
That's a minor point though.
As for characters running along a winged one while adventuring I don't think many PCs would find that super odd indeed, especially compared to the rest of what they witness. However that kind of reaction depends on the characters, see biggotry and racism towards orcs, but more importantly they're not NPCs.

well the same could be said about FS in general, but we all know the result of that argument
aside from the nerf it would give to FS, which seems to be what people are defending - not wanting to lose haste, how is it really that big of an issue?
whats available in the setting constantly changes so its not as if the norm is what it was when the server first started, how many races have been added? how many changes? but wings are a huge deal it seems, why?

They erroneously believe that the extra attack and AC will change how they play mechanically in PvM, PvE and PvP. Truth is with wings the FvS is even better than with haste. Given the ability to fly in DM events and a permanent movement speed bonus would be leagues better than casting haste 3x per day. Hell there are so many ways to get haste it is really moot that the FvS gets it at 20.........

if FvSs had wings back when the server started, i kinda feel like the founders of bg would have truly took a hard look at the class as a whole, and removed it, or nerfed it down to cleric standards, and removed the haste/wings. just my opinion

We already have fully exposed horned tieflings, tusked orcs and halforcs walking the streets of Baldur's gate with their heads raised high.
Meanwhile the average Baldurian has suffered numerous dragon strikes, charges by undead hoards, months of famine a few times e t c in the past 7 years.
Id say their bar at raising a brow should be fairly high by now.
Yes, I am somewhat playing devil's advocate here.

I have never been quite sure why Teiflings are not blamed for everything and anything for any reason of the whims of the people.
The lore is very clear in the books. You do not show off your horns, wings and stuff and you hide your face, you avoid public places. Simply you, yourself being who you are is walking sin incarnate in the minds of the common folk.
but thats just me.
As the player of a very active and open tiefling... Liam gets blamed for a phenomenal amount of things he didn't do, and more often has his roles in things or his actions either misconstrued or simply lied about to paint him in a terrible light.
Edit: All of the above I fully support, by the way, he looks like a blonde satan after all.

I imagine like most things in life, careful dedication can go a long way.
I was thinking that we could give them gust of wind instead of 5 tumble though.

Honestly I just have a dislike towards seeing everyone with wings lol. I myself do not believe the wings will give anything towards NWN2 mechanical fights but DM events they may be quite strong depending on the DM as Cal says.

the dislike of wings aside then, whats wrong with them having it? people complain FS dont rp properly and wings would give them something extra to rp while in events - they would have to make the attempt in a proper situation to use them
rp wise it gives them another option to handle certain situations, is that really that bad? flying is not particularly that easy so its not as if its some sort of god mode and they would be leaving themselves wide open to a lot of attacks
and for the normal bonus, haste to expeditious retreat 3x/day, would move faster but it would only be movement

Of course both of these should be optional to the PC's. Not all will want to have wings and tails.
