While I was working on Gaven's painting, I also had a second project going. Gaven's was done on my laptop using Painter 2019 and my Huion display tablet, and I was also trying to see if I could take a painting from start to finish on my iPad, since all I had done prior to was use it as my starting point. So this painting was done on a 9.7" iPad, using Art Studio Pro and an Apple Pencil- CommanderKrieg's Osyrian De LaFonte.

That's amazing!
Two pieces of art in this time! You're spoiling us!

Newest piece is for ProgressivePsy- A full body illustration is kind of a rarity for me, and I've never done one in digital medium before, so while I was nervous about how well I'd do with setting and scenery, the idea he asked for was way, way too good to pass up on! This was also done on my 9.7 ipad using Art Studio Pro, and I tried to go for a number of different things- While sticking to my enjoyment of deep shadows, this time I went with really saturated color.
Ladies and gents, please meet Fingal Darius- the man beneath the Hat!

that is amazing! I love the style.
Reminds me of the style that Kevin J Anderson's artist does for his Dan Shambler Zombie PI novels.

I've already told you, but it bears repeating: this is utterly fantastic! I love the moody color scheme (so evocative), all the amazing details, and the way it captures a different side of Fingal. Kudos!

Johnny Cash's rendition of this song is so damn poignant it literally gives me chills, and makes me tear up. It is a perfect choice for the real Fin!

Simply amazing! Perfect falls short of description and that song choice really sets the theme for him too. Fantastic

Very often- well, almost always to be honest- I find the base sketches of ideas to be more appealing to me than the final paintings are. There is just something very dynamic and expressive about them that gets lost in the final rendering. So, with that in mind, I figure I'll share some of the ones I especially like when they happen, since getting an ipad and apple pencil really upped my sketching game- in quantity if not quality.
This is my Five Minute Karn, For Whistler's Karn Bjarngrim, dirtbag extraordinaire ("I totally fixed it! You know... for me!)
