A little late to reply, but I think what Sansa was doing with all the contradicting Jon was important. All of the lord's were thinking it, and she put voice to it. It doesn't matter that Jon decided to do whatever the (do-me) he wanted, it was important that they all knew he was at least considering the alternative.

Allowing her to question him also shows her respect, which gives her more authority when he leaves her in charge.

Yeah, being on Jon Snows side of the fence, every time she spoke up I cringed a bit, but in the end her speaking against him is much better than her keeping her mouth shut.

I literally shook the entire last half of this episode. It was beyond amazing. Best episode to date.

Before this episode I would have ranked the battle of the bastards at the top as far as anticipation and anxiety. This one topped it in epic fashion. It was pure edge-of-seat for the last 20 minutes.

My only complaint is that the episode was shy of fifty minutes. As a serial binge-watcher, these short episodes and a short season bother me.

To put some water in the wine. I do think, that the whole series does have a little bit of a problem with pacing and fillers. Considering how rushed some things seem to be, eight seasons seem to be inadequate.

True, and no argument there from me -- some of the episodes have been downright boring.

However, 8 seasons is a lifetime for an actor. You can get other writers and directors to swap in and out (and they have), but actor changes are usually not at all subtle (e.g. The Mountain [which was a change for the better, IMO -- Halfthor is truly a giant of a man] and Daario Naharis from season 1-2.)

While they can get gigs between seasons, I imagine it's still hard when everyone knows you as Sansa Stark, or Jon Snow. Talk about living in your own shadow!

That is more a problem of the books than of the tv show. Book V is a filler of a book: A dance with dragons. Just doesn't seem to go anywhere with Daenerys stuck in the east.

Also you start to see that all the threads are unraveling sometimes. He might still bring it to an excellent end, but imo the last seasons of the tv show are better than the books (for the corresponding time period).

Also the changes work better than the original.

I still think the first three books are better than the tv show though.

And this might be the reason he isn't writing that fast anymore, besides being very busy with other projects. But all the threads are getting in the way of writing the end for the books.

In the tv show it seems to get along pretty well. I like this season pretty well compared to former seasons.

I liked the slow pace of the last one. And Littlefinger is just too clever. He will trap himself in his spiderweb eventually.
