The moment someone says "X" lives matter, that very statement implies that OTHER lives matter less.

Unless the "x" is all, there is a problem, whether you understand/acknowledge it or not.
That's just the thing though. Of course all lives matter, but the #blacklivesmatter movement began as a result of a growing collective sentiment that black lives do not matter.

All lives matter, but that is a statement empty of any context. All lives matter, but that is a rebuke that doesn't consider why someone would say "X" lives matter to begin with. It misses the point.

When people say black lives matter, they're not trying to say other lives matter less than black lives. They're trying to say black lives matter too. They're trying to say black lives should matter. They're trying to ask, if all lives matter, why don't black lives matter?

As to #orclivesmatter ... I really don't know. I've been thinking about this on and off all day. I personally don't take offense to it. But I can see why some might be offended; whether intentional or not, it simultaneously references and then makes light of an otherwise serious real world political issue (at least in the U.S.) that people have every right to feel passionate about.

With tragedy, humor needs to take it's place to let the coping begin.

I should clarify something.

With regards to this topic, I'm not angry, upset, or anything like that.

I think the whole thing is just ridiculous.

Since the OP's question is answered, and the entire topic is bordering on political views, I'm going to lock this thread.

Should you be of the opinion that it should not be locked, feel free to PM me or the moderation team, and we'll take it in consideration.

Thank you all for your input and time.
