*Director Natalia would begin ordering caskets for the Nashkel Mine's Head Coroner, Afendaria, for the large amount of dead mining laborers she is expecting from the dangerous, but profitable, work. She would say flippantly to a company worker in town that she expects a report from Afendaria soon.*

*Director Natalia would seek our Tathra for an update on the Magrinn engineering and survey efforts and when development of the mine can begin with proper security. She would impatiently seem to expect a report on the efforts.*

*It is said that Director Natalia Fernanda, Chief Operator of the Nashkel Mines, would be present at the mines often in the month of Kythorn DR 1361. She would even plan on skipping the ball in Nashkel at the end of the month, instead alloyed like preciously blacksmithed metals to profitable intent to see the mine developed and operating with great profit. Special attention is given to construction of the first production areas, mine security, and to finding iron, and perhaps with even more fervor, other mineral veins in the mines outside of iron.

She would also hire some sign makers and couriers to post signage throughout the towns of Nashkel, cities of Amn, Beregost, Gullykin, the Friendly Arm, and Baldur's Gate advertising mining work, security work, construction work, and engineering work for "market Amnian wage".*

On the morning of the 27th of Kythorn, 1361 DR, a pair of Kelemvorites walked into the outer fortress area that makes up the entrance to the Nashkel Iron Mines. Standing in front of the barricaded entrance and up on the walls, the pair surveyed the area, made notes, and commented on the most suitable location for a morgue for miners.



Later that day, sometime in the afternoon, Afendaria met with other members and associates of the Golden Wheel Trade Company, where the group began discussing the further development of the mine. When it came to explaining details about the morgue, Afendaria shared her opinions about adding a ramp and lifts to help move the bodies of dead miners, and showed the group where she thought the morgue would best be placed.





However, when it came to the terms of financing and putting Afendaria in charge of the morgue, the Kelemvorite explained to those present that she had decided—since her duties north of Amn were far too extensive—not to accept the title or lead role over the morgue at the Nashkel Iron Mines, nor to work long-term with the Golden Wheel. Instead, she and the director present agreed that she would help set up the morgue, and once it was completed, the Golden Wheel would run it entirely on their own.

Having nothing more to add, she was soon dismissed from the meeting, and she promptly took her leave.

Despite calling it beneath her station and "Don't you have any idea who I am?" Lady Albrongardo of Amn declared herself willing to provide security for her the Golden Wheels mine, when asked by Director Fernanda. Presumably protecting her investment, since she herself sponsored half the sum it took to buy them.

In future that may be achieved by diverting House Albrongardo Guards, but in the beginning patrols had to suffice.

In time though Lady Albrongardo decided to delegate the task. Choosing her trusted Knight Belinda Ravenblood and the elf Sirion Te'dwa to, separate from each other, hire adventurers in the Golden Wheels name, to keep the place clean of intruders.

It is said that in recent days of profit, the enterprisees of the Golden Wheel seek great fortunes in the mines near Nashkel, now under their golden authority. Various tasks are assigned from the Chief Operator of the mines, Director Natalia Fernanda, from security headed by Major Investor Lady Narasida, to mine engineering and production headed by Aspiring Director Tathra, to disposing of the unprofitable dead laborers lost in the course of ordinary business in the mines headed by Pro Bono Corpse Supervisor Afendaria, who it is rumored is apparently is the only one in involved thrilled to work for free. All tasks have one purpose in mind, the highest of investment returns for the shareholders of the Golden Wheel Company! PRAISE WAUKEEN!

It is said today that the Golden Wheel Company, on the orders of Director Fernanda, attempted to destroy any northern freeloading land squatters on the land under the authority of the Golden Wheel, giving a warning to vacant possession before the Director herself cast an Implosion spell on the bushes or rocks any squatters might be hiding behind. The Wheel has little tolerance for giving valuable company land away for free, hoping its noble efforts act as a deterrence.



The Golden Wheel then travelled in convoy to Baldur's Door, offering market wage work to northerners as it went. The work offers had various degrees of success. Business ended at the import duties station at Baldur's Door, with the potential hiring of a dwarven laborer...

It is said that contractors, employees, investors, and Directors of the Golden Wheel Company gathered for recent mining surveys, security patrols, and other profitable ventures in the vicinity of the Nashkel Mines. Contracts were signed. Wages were paid. Investments were made. Waukeen, bless our profits!

On the 13th of Flamerule 1361 DR, Sirion and three hired members of the Bladestone Foundation went on a light patrol in the area surrounding the Nashkel Mine. While passing through Nashkel, the patrol was intercepted by the Golden Wheel's director and one of its board members. A tour of the mine's outer workings followed, with glimpses of operations soon to begin and brief negotiations about payment for services rendered, before the patrol proceeded to the nearby Crystal Cave, accompanied by another hireling of the Wheel.

They returned without incident beyond their ability to handle, and made their report to the Director and board member before parting ways.

It is said between Director Natalia Fernandas endless thirst for coin, Aspiring Director Tathras workaholism and Lady Albrongardos enthusiasm to let others do the dirty work for her, that the Golden Wheel has had quite a swell of Candidates, as almost everyday now the Wheels mines are getting inspected, patrolled, or shown to potential new blood.

Even the nearby Crystal Caves are being used as a cost-free proving ground for aspiring combat personal.

It is said that in recent days an adamantine Amnian masked gala took place in Nashkel. The party was profitably hosted at and by Mayor Ghastkill at his manor in the town, with even the glorious Iltarch and Namarch of the Council of Six of Amn attending, among various intriguing guests from within Amn and up and down the Sword Coast. The guest list naturally included a profitable delegation of members, investors, and employees of the Amnian chartered Golden Wheel Company. The evening proved quite eventful for the assets of the Golden Wheel and its attendees it is said, with business opportunities discovered and also plots afoot.

One such plot unfortunately foreclosed upon Director Natalia Fernanda herself, the evening ending with the Iltarch of the Council of Six indicting Natalia on sedition and conspiracy charges, commanding her to commerce to Athkatla at once to see Amnian "justice" done. The Golden Wheel Company and its Board of Directors responded quickly after the gala with corporate public relations damage control.

Are Natalia and her merchant House Fernanda's voracious thirst for gold soon to be permanently bankrupt? Or is it only another one-off crimson ink financial quarter in the Director's mostly profitable depreciable life? Only Waukeen, the Lady of Coin herself, might know the pro forma truth to this financial forecast!

Baseless accusations being made against the most profitable Golden Wheel?

Doesn't matter! The mines are there, there is value to be had, so value has to be guarded. Without much fanfare being made, the patrols resumed. One might even say it is done to show confidence and stability in unsure times.
Especially when the guards can be convinced to patrol for free.

As business begin to return to normal following the troubling events of the ball of succession, a large Golden Wheel caravan is seen treading along the Trade Way, under the oversight of several members of the board.

The group, leaving from Nashkel, makes a stop at Beregost, and then at the Friendly, where some of the members stop for the night, until finally arriving at Baldur's Gate. Outside the occasional monster attack, which is swiftly dealt with without casualties or damage to the wares, the caravan has a relatively safe voyage, delivering its goods on schedule, and engaging in trades with other merchants along the way.
