A bit mixed, it is a lot of work as many people have pointed out, might re-imagine some classes all together perhaps. And if it in turns opens the door for even more spread skill stacking, wont that just bloat the value representation at large, rather than the niche specializations of absurd values? Maybe im stupid and don't really comprehend it. And perhaps a bit too pessimistic about all the gear I've looted becoming obsolete :( ;) I don't really care what the numbers are in general, so long as they represent my characters identity in a roleplaying manner and their specializations/educations and pursuits in life and I get a satisfaction out of RPing and mechanically playing them, those numbers can be 20 or 80.

But I have enjoyed improving my kit on many characters for years and that very much includes hunting specific items with various invaluable skills on them for certain builds. That would largely be gone with the change I suspect and instead we get less specialization and more generalist or covering more bases in each build, which seems like a power creep in RP and mechanically in a lot of cases, where it was a choice before.

If we REALLY want to lower the cap, sure, but synergies still count as beyond the CAP.

Either way, this should be brought to the Dev Team. It's cool to hear us all out, but once we reach page 5 we should really either wait for others to express their ideas (maybe a few days), or bring your proposal directly to the Team. IMHO.

If this rebalancing isn't happening .
I'd suggest at least buffing shapeshifted skills somehow , as during shape shifts one loses stacking . Justanotherguy mentioned , and I remembered from years of playing shifters and druids about this issue . For example , there is no way to spot someone with decent stacked hide/ms while in any shape .
My diplomacy and survival stacking also was negated over the years , as another example .
Even though I don't play shapeshifters right now , it seems an issue to address .
