Rumor spreads quickly that the Shadow Master has been killed. Many witnesses there were as the Fist carted his body towards Baldur's Gate.

Ravens flew en mass over the carted body of the Shadow Master, and many wolves were seen on the outskirts of the forest as if following their fallen master.

The body of a male sun elf was recently discovered in the inner cloakwood by adventurers. The corpse had numerous burns on him suggesting a magical assailant. As of yet, no one has been able to identify the body, the fact that both eyes are missing, suggesting they had been ripped out, not assisting that matter.

A man in fine dark leathers and a cloak can be seen wandering through Baldur's Gate, from the Palace District to the Docks and everywhere in between. He wears a smug grin most of the time, and seems less interested in the city than in the people who inhabit it.

If asked about his business, he plainly states that he is "looking for a woman". If asked why, he winks knowingly and responds "Why would any man look for a woman?"

Rumor has it the Shadow Master has escaped capture. His body fled in the form of thousands of spiders from the back of the wagon that he was being hauled in. No one has seen him since the escape just a day ago.

Baldur's Gate once again found itself on high alert when another report of drow and a duergar near the city was reported. Flaming Fist mercenaries and members of the City Watch were stationed all about the farmlands and city proper to discourage the possible threat.

This, coupled with Beregost being on high alert in response to a banished criminal being sighted, has led to a whole lot of steel on the streets of the Sword Coast in recent days.

The Trade Way was stirred today as a criminal being transported from Candlekeep nearly broke free. Due to the aid of adventurers, the prisoner was escorted to the city and imprisoned.
