A wagon loaded with the meat of two dire boars is led to the temple of Ilmater by the Head Watchknight. In speaking with Sister Adolina she tells her the boar are for the temple and its patients, apparently spoils from the field training conducted by the Everwatch Knights. After requesting of Brother Santraegar's audience and hearing it was unavailable she takes her leave stating she will return tomorrow.

Yesterday there was a new arrival to the temple, a cat brought in by Ameris and Telia and, for some reason, a trio of dark clad figures. The beast, ginger hued and hazel eyed, is evidently malnourished and mangy - a street cat, a foundling. One of the dark figures, an elven woman, even gave a donation to see to the cat's wellbeing!

The creature was left in the care of Sister Adolina while Ameris and Telia went out to the Spheres festival. Upon their return, Ameris is seen seeking out the feline, and providing it with a fish and a saucer of milk.

"Grow strong little one." he says soothingly, stroking it. "For soon the Shirtrenders will feel your wrath."

Those who know Ameris may know that he speaks of rats.

The newcomer to the temple spent its first day there eating anything given to it, lapping up milk and then just sleeping in front of the warm fire in the Ilmateri kitchen. Once it had eaten as much as it could and rested, it began to play a game with a priest. It is uncertain who was victorious but it is certain that hand creatures are very elusive and not easily vanquished. It began to explore the Temple a little before being ushered back into the kitchen. There too, it explored the nooks and crannies and was pushed down repeatedly from the table where food is prepared.

The street cat is very thin and looks malnourished, ribs easily felt through its fur when petted. There is an alertness to its hazel eyes, taking in everything which happens around it and an obvious curiosity which likely will see the cat in trouble sooner than later. It seems rather docile, perhaps this is a personality trait or just a result from eating so much food. Any sudden sounds or movements however does frighten it.

Those who have been touching the cat or been close to it, find themselves to have a sudden itch...

The priest Ameris is indeed one of those who has come into contact with the animal. He can be seen early in the morning shift in the temple scratching his head. The man's hair is cut short, of course, in the manner of the Adorned. It does not take long for something to be pointed out to him. Movement.

He moves to one of the wash basins, scratching his head over it. A string of words, almost sounding like an oath or cuese in Alzhedo, as he realises what is afoot.

"When the watchful eye closes, the only wage is suffering!"

The fervour of the oath is cut short by the stern frowns of other clergy. He continues more gently.

"Gah, the beast is flea ridden...I will mix up some flea-bane." With a grimace, the priest looks down the infirmary at the trio of patients he has already seen. Each of which, like the priest himself, will need to have their hair washed in the solution.

The shorn hair of the priest would be easy to de-flea, perhaps a practical reason behind the typical Ilmateri coiffure. Not so that of the various patients.

And the beast itself. Well. He would need gloves.

Again the priest speaks in Alzhedo, under his breath.

It was going to be a long morning.

*Eleanor drops by the temple in the early morning as usual to tend to her morning prayers. On her way to the chapel the young squire runs into Brother Ameris searching for a thick enough gloves. She looks at the priest curiously for the moment, before her eyes drop to the little monster pressed against the warm surface of the stove. The girl chuckles softly looking back to the priest.*

"Would you like some help with that, Brother Ameris?" *Eleanor asks with a warm smile and a twinkle of amusement in her eyes.*

Ameris would nod in thanks to the young squire, his cropped hair still wet from his own treatment as he enters the kitchen, reaching for some oven gloves.

"I thank you, lady. But be careful, the beast is infested with fleas, and none too restrained with its claws as I learned yestereve. I have a bucket upstairs ready, in the bathroom, filled with a solution to remove the infestation. At least it works upon scalps. I admit my animal husbandry is not so well developed."

Ameris frowns now.

"Although the question remains whether we should wait for Telia before such drastic action as placing the cat in the bath and immersing it in medicinal water."

A pause.

"Or perhaps await the druids."

He frowns again. "No, we must stop the spread. We cannot have the temple flea ridden."

He looks to Eleanor once more. "One of us will need to don these gloves and take up the beast. Perhaps I had better do that. The other will need to hold the doors open and bring up milk and ham to placate its wrath once the treatment is done. When we are up there, I will hold it while you pour the solution over it slowly. How does that seem?"

*Eleanor ponders a moment scratching her head absentmindedly*
"I'd suggest you to wrap this little beast in a blanket and once we are in a close quarters treat it. Holding it only with the gloves may not be enough, Brother Ameris. And while we treat the fleas we could clean his ears too. Let me prepare a food treat for him and let's proceed with our mission."
*The girl turns to gather some milk and ham then she looks again to Ameris.*
"Oh and we need a thick brush. This fur may need more than washing..." *The young squire lets out a soft chuckle.*

"A blanket. Hmm. And a brush. At once!" Ameris darts towards the door.

He pauses as he opens it. "I am grateful for your advice, lady!"

He disappears upstairs to find said items. Leaving Eleanor alone with the beast.

"You are welcome Brother Ameris. I'm glad to be of service." *Ellie smiles gently while eyeing the cat. Soon she prepares a small peace offering for later. After moment's thought the squire produces a string from one of her pockets and try to engage the beast, that surely suspects by now what may happen to him, into some chasing game*

A woman dressed in a long flowing red dress made of expensive silks enters the temple. her hair is short and fiery red, her eyes glowing emeralds and a smell of expensive elven perfume follows her. The high priestess makes her way over to the counter and hands across a great stack of clothes. although they are not grand pieces each is finely crafted and hardly bland, the symbol of sune is found on each in some small aspect normally unseen when worn.
"a bit of Sunes love for those in need"

After the Heartwarder notices the woman and the cat her typical charming smile grows a little larger and she takes a seat grabbing out a small book. this was to be a funny encounter she would have to record for later.

*Eleanor turns her head to the newcomer, smile growing on her lips once she recognises Erza*

"Hello heartwarder, if you intend to stay, let me warn you. That creature is infested with a great horde of fleas."

*Erza offers her typical charming smile. though its likely becoming obvious she very rarely wears anything else upon her lips*
"Well i should keep my distance then.. do you want me to track down a sharess priestess?"

"I don't think it will be necessary. And I do believe she wouldn't like to participate in the battle to come once we get to washing..." *Ellie chuckles at the upcoming prospect.*

[Killington]

A tall man in dark gray plate with silvery streaks and red leathers enters the temple and looks around. He crosses his arms and in a deep booming voice addresses one of the sisters.

"Brother Ameris... where is he? I must speak with him."

He eyes the cat and asks calmly. "What is that doing here?"

*Ellie smiles brightly at Tegeus* "Brother Ameris is looking for gloves and a brush. Should be back soon. And this" *points to the cat* "Is a new member of the church. And he has fleas."
