*A n elf in blue robes bearing the symbols of Candlekeep can be seen attaching the following page in the noticeboards.*
Coastal Chronicles - Flamerule 1358 DR Year of the Shadow

1st of Flamerule, Everywhere - The sky darkens, cattle dies, a dark thick rain that causes rashes and kills plants falls. The earth trembles and meteors fall from the sky causing damage to people and property, although these events eventually cease. Abominations arrived seemingly out of nowhere attack the travelers and the Weave becomes unreliable, causing spells to either fail or generate unpredictable effects. The gods become silent and all clerics are unable to cast any spell above the Third Circle. Helmites still retain their full powers, but Helm remains silent as well. Factions of the Coast immediately mobilize to help the population in this chaos: House Darius, Order of the Radiant Heart, Order of the Silver Rose, House Vale, Everwatch Knights, Bladestone Foundation and other religious orders and adventurers.

1st of Flamerule, Baldur's Gate - Magic items seem to be malfunctioning or to have lost power completely. There are several cases of simple, rudimentary spells turning into fireballs of gigantic proportions, spawning writhing masses of nightmarish creatures, trees growing out of walls and mold growing rapidly in proportions and gaining consciousness. Some of the building are damaged by the meteors, however a particularly large one falls on the Halls of Inner Light. The Hanalite priestess Tia'tae and the dwarven priestess Danya die in the attempt to shield priestess Lily of Sheela Peryroyl, who survives albeit in shock. Keeper Runa Helvig loses a leg and is brought unconscious to Vale Estate. Spellcasting is now outlawed in Ducal Lands.

1st Flamerule, Candlekeep - Books gain a form of sentience, pronouncing random sentences written on them and flying around. All ink turns into a poisonous, cherry scented syrup and the air becomes pastel colored.

1st Flamerule, Beregost - A blizzard of blood hits Beregost.

1st of Flamerule, Nashkel - Every wooden or stone object exposed to direct sunlight causes an electric discharge. As the event only lasts a day the death toll is relatively small. Five peaks disappear overnight from the horizon.

1st of Flamerule, Roaring Shore - Strong winds and furious waves are witnessed, along with a strange pest in the form of watery slugs that have found their way inside people's homes. Word spreads that the High Captain Rensby Caine, known as "The Pious" and a true Favored of Umberlee, went into a thunderous rage and for now has sailed from Roaringshore, even amidst the angry waters.

1st of Flamerule, Reaching Woods - A black dragon spits acid seemingly at random in the forest, and deliberately destroys many Eldath shrines desecrating them and corrupting the land. The forest dwellers who die become undead.

1st of Flamerule, Zhentil Keep - An item falls from the sky and hits the Black Altar.

2nd of Flamerule, Baldur's Gate - River Steel's Bibliotheca officially opens.

4th of Flamerule, Western Heartlands - The war between Alliance and Zhentarim slows down. The Zhentarim's raids are less effective as now the Alliance knows how to move. The unreliability of magic makes both sides hesitant to attack.

5th Flamerule, Cormyr - Mystra is killed by Helm in the Stonefield. Her dying shout is heard everywhere and Her divine casters as well as all arcanists can feel her death.

5th Flamerule, Trade Way - The Everwatch in recent days as well as friends in the Vanguard, Triadic Knights, and Order of the Silver Rose marched from Nashkel in Amn to Baldur's Gate and back along the Trade Way in a March of Vigil.

5th Flamerule, Lion's Way - A group of mage slayers begins killing spellcasters in the area near the Friendly Arm. They have been identified as a group travelling with a wagon and luring spellcasters away with the request of a Remove Curse. The Bladestone Foundation pledges to protect all spellcasters from them.

5th Flamerule, Nashkel - A series of tornados spontaneously appears in the middle of Nashkel. Ser Alexander Marshall, Ser Gaven Arkalis, Maevyn Edgar, Thok, Yuri Lichelina and Jak Dimburrow assist the population.

6th Flamerule, Amn - Amnian trade suffers due to the silence of Waukeen, however Milil's avatar appears in Atkatla among His faithful.

6th Flamerule, High Forest - It is rumored that a god walks in High Forest, where nature is being celebrated.

6th Flamerule, Waterdeep - Selune makes Herself manifest at the House of the Moon.

7th Flamerule, Greenest - The group of mage hunters who has been executing spellcasters after Mystra's death, visits Greenest Inn asking for someone capable of removing curses. Rhaeg of the Commons volunteers presenting himself as a mage. He follows them at an isolated place and is attacked, but manages to defeat the assassins. There the body of a Red Wizard is found, along with sharran pamphlets that hint to the fact that this might not be an isolated cell.

8th Flamerule, Candlekeep - A meeting of all faiths takes place in Candlekeep to discuss the silence of the gods. In the middle of it two mystran acolytes arrive and explain the circumstances of Mystra's death. This happened in the Cormyran Stonefields, where She called her followers to "bring order again". There she was met by Helm who killed Her. Later on, Deneir, the Lord of All Glyphs and Images settles in Candlekeep. He explains that all the gods have been cast out by Lord Ao, the Overgod, because they had become lax towards their faithful and because someone among them stole the Tablets of Fate, that have engraved all the gods portfolios and the order of things. Helm was left to guard the Celestial Staircase with the strict order of not letting anybody through unless they had the Tablets of Fate. This is likely the reason behind Mystra's death. Candlekeep immediately mobilized to spread the truth far and wide.

10th Flamerule, Lion's Way - An altercation takes place between Rhaeg and a Grey Orc. The former is defeated, however the arrival of Ser Alexander Marshall, Ser Gaven Arkalis and Maevyn Edgar forces the orc to flee.

11th Flamerule, Baldur's Gate - The trade company Deck of Cards predicts an increase in their profits due to the great demand for wands and potions.

11th Flamerule, Triel - Alber Fobhalt and Basil Schollar win the annual Triel Trophy for research with their Everwatch Golem.

11th Flamerule, Roaring Shore - The Seer Rabbie Rivers declares his intention to take shelter at the Broken Goblet of Roaring Shores.

11th Flamerule, Nashkel - A group of adventurers defeat a lich, taking advantage of its dependency on magic.

11th Flamerule, Winding Way - A river boat full of luxury foods is lost in the turbulent waters of the winding way. Bandits, adventurers, and local islanders research and recover some of the lost cargo.

13th Flamerule, Amn - An unusually cold weather is registered in the Cloudpeaks. An unusual number of paraelemental of ice have gathered near the temple of Auril.

15th Flamerule, Amn - Magic is outlawed and the Cowled Wizards purged. Mages in amnian territory are punishable with death or exile.

17th Flamerule, Candlekeep - Deneir, the First Scribe, confirmed that the chaos of the Weave will get worse the longer Mystra's seat remains vacant. He also explains that a portfolio, if unclaimed, may vanish.

18th Flamerule, Baldur's Gate - An altercation takes place between Rhaeg of the Commons and a member of Ordo Veritatis, a group of Helmites known to spread the false narrative that the unworthy gods have forsaken their faithful and are being killed the "the only true god" Helm and uses their unrestricted divine magic to corroborate this narrative. Rhaeg has been denounced to the Flaming Fist.

20th Flamerule, Baldur's Gate - An art gallery is opened at Everwinter Estate.

21st Flamerule, Baldur's Gate - Rhaeg turns to the Flaming Fist to be questioned about assaulting a man. The matter is settled with a fine.

22nd Flamerule, Baldur's Gate - Acid rains on Baldur's Gate. A series of portals open near the orphanage and spawn flesh abominations. Thanks to the conjoined efforts of the Flaming Fist, City Watch, Knights of various faiths and adventurers, the manage was defeated. Traces of a summoning ritual are found nearby.

24th Flamerule, Baldur's Gate - Ser Amos Thistle turns himself to the Flaming Fist and is arrested. On the same day, a tiefling known as Lazlo Kern manages to access the Ducal Palace and attempts to the life of Duke Belt. The attempt fails, but everyone now has to uncover their face when entering or leaving the city.

24th Flamerule, Uldoon's Trail - A wanted demon summoner was defeated by a traveler she ambushed.

26th Flamerule, Amn - Rumors spread of a noble who turned his village into a communal settlement where everyone receives a set income provided by the many hands of the village. The small village begins restructuring to provide and accommodate its richest and poorest all the same. It is rumored that the change happened after the noble read Common Cause, a political manifest written by Rhaeg of the Commons. The book is outlawed in the neighboring city.

28th Flamerule, Amn - Many Mystrans relocate from the temple to Vale Estate.

30th Flamerule, Baldur's Gate - The play The Tale of Two Sisters takes place at the Whitemask Theater. Written by Nea and directed by Rose Rivineth, it counts Firenzio Del Ama, Lucretia Chastain, Netanya d'Abdelledion'dy'Quellium and Lily Summerheart among its cast and Sirion Te'dwa as supporting cast.

Of Flyers and a Song of Truth

These days an elf in Blue, with robes of Candlekeep and Midnight Blue Hair can be seen. Either she plays one certain song, tp those who are willing to listen and did not hear it yet. It is nor our typical happy-go-lucky somg or a lament directly. It tells the truth, and yet lifts the spirit, and keeps up the morals. An honest, also emotional song.

Or she would hand out flyers if one would give her a moment of time to explain, before going back to their daily work. Of course she has also helpful and friendly words for everyone who takes their time to listen to her and read the flyers.

For those who can not read themselves, the Towncriers would read them.

((OOC Note:

1) This is not meant to be in competition to actions of other players and groups in this way. We started this 9 days ago, just had to send a request and now kindly got the allowance from DM Soulcatcher to use the Towncriers. We wanted to avoid godmodding. But this flyer will sometimes be handed out in game by player characters as well.
2) This is not a meeting or event. It's just meant to be an open invitation for RP. Come to CK for a chat at any time if you want and if you see Tiawyn or Edelgarde or any other Candlekeepers online. If it doesn't work spontaniosly, some of us also will gladly make appointments in order to meet different timezones.
3) I will continue to play the said song in game as i did, if there's any interested players wanting to hear it. :) ))

The Grand Knight of the Order of the Radiant Heart, along with Captain Vanira, Alyssia Leonhart, and Amos Thistle are seen leaving the Order of the Radiant Heart Keep, along with an escort of Radiant Heart guards. The company travelled via horseback along the River Chionthar, to Radiant Crossing. Making north east, they arrive at the Ex-Blackrose Fort. They are later joined by Lord Osric Vale, who while still sceptical of the whole ordeal, agrees to help Aaron with reviews of the financial books, along with Alyssia.

A full review is called of the forces at the Fort. The mercenaries hired by Amos while distraught over the loss of his children are immediately dismissed from service By Lord Lyonaler. Having already been paid in advance, they seemed happy to simply leave. The remaining soldiers of the Fort are given choices, most remaining in service. All banners of any evil organisation or church are taken down and destroyed. The declaration that they are now at war with the Zhentarim is made. The same declarations and actions are made for those stationed at the Bridge Fort outside of Soubar.

Once the soldiers are addressed, and those remaining in service are released back to guard duties, the talk moves to the Fort's trade. Certain elements are discussed and some cut off. Any soldiers or trade that has a hint of impropriety are gutted. Aaron, Vanira, and the Radiant Heart guard remain at the Fort for the night to help oversee and discuss the changes occurring there. Old banners are removed and a fire is lit to burn them. The now Ex-Blackrose will even have a new name soon.

The Orderly changes to the Fort and Bridge Fort have begun.

/// Thanks to those who came to RP this!

A giant man in golden armor once again appears in Soubar after and long time away. Most surprised to see him as many believed he was done for.
Word would be spread around that all those in Service to Blackrose or that had a contract with the Lord of Fort Prominence within Soubar and the camp on Boareskyre bridge were to gather.
*************
As the Soldiers from Blackrose and the many mercenaries under contract to Amos thistle would gather he would speak to them.

"I thank you all for coming. I apologize it took so long for me to return and I thank you all that you stood your vigil and remained vigilant to your duty till I returned. Lesser men would have left and returned home. But you all know what is at stake we have all fought for it time and time again. Trade, Commerce, the safety of the locals and your families beside *He smiles * I'm sure the overcompensation of gold you get doesn't hurt.

I would continue my mission towards that future but.... no longer under the guise of the Blackroses. That time has passed, and the name only brings with it the dark deeds of its vile forebearers. At the end of the day, it was my Gold and direction that saw us forward and I would like to take all you with me as I move forward.

I have seen all you grow from simple refugee's afraid of your own shadows to the Golden Lions you have become. You have made your fortunes with me to raise your families in protection and to give your children a brighter future.

I will not hold it against you if you decide on a different path. Heck I'll give you a token of gold for the road if you wish to be on your way. But know this if you stay you will not want for anything as long as you follow me.

*He raises up his right arm a Golden Gauntlet strapped firmly on it* This is a reminder of what I speak today and the new path a wish to venture on. *He removed the gauntlet revealing the missing hand his arm wrapped in bandages. * This is not something I shall soon forget, just like you all and how much you mean to me.

*He points to the Blackrose Banner* Tear down the banners and torch them and let something new be forged. Hence forth we will be known as the "The Golden Hand Trading Company." Our mission will be unchanged. The Protection and unhindered flow of trade and commerce.

Now for those that wish to continue on make your way back to your posts. Those that wish to move on head to Fort Prominence where your final payment awaits.

Over the Last week there could be seen movement at the bridge fort. A man up on a ladder scrubbing an image off a cock off the tower. Any traces of Banners of Zhentarim, Blackrose, Black abbey and Northern Barony are torn down and burnt. A new banner could be seen flying laid out on the tower. A golden Gauntlet.

With the Return of Amos Thistle to Fort Prominence in previous weeks most of the soldier would fall under the command of the waukeenar As the order to throw off Blackrose ties was issued many of its former leadership those loyal to Hanner, Morgan and the Blackroses as a whole would be subdued and escorted out of the Fortress by those now of the Golden hand and a small force of radiant heart knights. Those forced to leave would head to Darkhold until an opportunity would present itself to take back the Fortress.

The Turning of the Coin

After his unpleasant run in with what he would affectionately term Slags and Dregs of Roaringshore, so ungrateful to be rid of a monster in their midst and for now forced him into exile from their community. This was not at all unexpected, and merely confirmed his suspicion that all the civility therein is merely a facade as thin as their integrity.

Roland for now turns to the upkeep of the humble Shrine sitting in Thundars Ride north of the Gate, locking himself in an endless struggle with the Bugbear bandits that roam the area and planning of course Vengeance upon the misbegotten little hole that rejected the Justice of the Doombringer in such a heinous manner as to try and kill his priest with ambush while in the hospitality of their Inn thus compounding the sacrilege further.

Dead bugbears and goblins scattered the trail and surrounding area of a path that lead up in the Shire of The Doombringer on Thundra's Ride. These creatures slain by blades, no doubt. Up in the peace of the shrine a man kneeled before the altar and stayed for a time, if not for hours. Wheter he tried to prayed or just rested remains a mystery. Ultimately he left towards south from where he came. An offering was left for anyone visiting the shrine to witness or examine.

On a stormy night after the return of the gods, an odd duo wanders into the Reaching Woods under cover of invisibility: A mithral-plated wood elf and an unmasked young drow with a brightly glowing sapphire ring. They waste no time heading for the shrine of Eldath, though their path initially only takes them to the ruined fountain nearby. Once they arrived at the shrine proper, they would spend some time talking by the rope bridge, taking in the scenery and, by all appearances, successfully relaxing in spite of the cold, heavy rain and the incessant rumbling of the thunderstorm above.

Eventually, shortly after their invisibility spells finally expired, the drow would lead her companion in search of any guardians she might be able to converse with. Making a point of avoiding the towering treant they first laid eyes on, they soon found themselves face-to-face with a dryad, at which point the drow would ask, in her best Sylvan, whether she could be allowed to remain and rest there over the coming days, reportedly with the promise of leaving should it become necessary to maintain the grove's sanctity at any moment.

If her request was denied, she would leave without fuss, but with a contented smile regardless, happy for the opportunity to even briefly visit such a remarkably soothing place...

An air genasi bearing a Selunite emblem could be seen examining the Winding Water up around Boareskyr Bridge, carefully collecting samples of the tainted water before moving on downstream. While the boat trip to Kraak Helzak proved relatively safe, it seems that she was no match for the trolls and other indigenous creatures emboldened and maddened by the aftermath of Bhaal's death: By the time she reached the Winding Water village, she seemed badly battered, and had to rest awhile until she was joined by a student from the Bladestone Foundation.

Together, the duo could briefly be seen battling sahuagin, kuo toa, and trolls as they collected samples to the west of the village and at the ford in the Troll Claws, before heading to Kraak Helzak and making their way back to Baldur's Gate via caravan, a pair of elves and a tanned gnome accompanying them on this last leg of their journey together...

A new face could be seen walking the streets of the gate and surrounding areas in the company of a Worg, before long however the undue hostilities had forced the man's hand into a reclusive retreat as to avoid undue conflict with the denizens.

And so he travelled North, far North and disappeared somewhere inside the Reaching Wood.

When he can eke out the time, Osric visits the hidden glade to Eldath. There, he finds the massive tree at the center of a small pond, where the mushrooms are as brightly-colored as flowers and a rainbow finds its end in some indeterminable distance. Under the shelter of the massive tree's canopy, Osric does as he is prone to do in these places, where the prime crosses close with the plane of Faerie: he begins to dance. As usual, it is a wild and aimless dance made even more awkward by the lack of his right arm. Still, as the morbid waltz proceeds, he speaks a practiced rhyme in supplication to his patron.

We're not out of luck, Puck!
The crisis is over, come hither, say hi!
Is the Summer Court ordered or running amok?
I know you must hear me now, do not dare lie!

A friend is in need, we need your good deeds!
For your help, I'll sing to the trees and the weeds.
My boots shall print feet in the mud with the reeds,
A god to petition, a captive to free!

So come and be seen, you bird and good fellow!
Your cage is now broken, your mood must be mellow,
Your clever wit sought with your mirth like the spring,
Beat now a Shadow Cast Off Wretched Wing.

Of late, a lightly-armored air genasi bearing a holy symbol of Selune can be seen wandering around the Eldathyn grove in the Reaching Woods. If asked, she indicates she is looking for druids on the advice of Sister Ashenie, in the hope of obtaining aid in the cleansing of the Winding Water.

A letter is distributed to the remnants of the Northern Barony, such as it was. It reads:
Darkhold makes it known that we are withdrawing from the Northern Barony, citing the following as cause for the organization to no longer be considered an authoritative body and membership in it is no longer in the interests of Darkhold.
  • The leader of House Selmiyeritar, Aunrae, has defected to the cities of the Lords' Alliance.
  • The leader of House Blackrose, Amos, has defected to the cities of the Lords' Alliance.
  • House Blackrose has claimed total dominion over the Bridgefort, with the support of the Order of the Radiant Heart.
  • Imperceptor Vyshasa has been executed by Darkhold for past treason against allies of Darkhold, which likely damages relations between Darkhold and the Black Abbey.
As of today, Darkhold is no longer a signatory of the Northern Barony and will pursue its own interests for the northern territory of the Western Heartlands.

- Lady Tarina, the Witch of Darkhold

After numerous failed attempts at communing with either her goddess or the local druids, and an encounter with a number of visitors to the grove and one of the nymphs guarding it, the Selunite priestess finally seems to have made some progress on both fronts, completing a ritual in a clearing near the pond.

She was subsequently seen teleporting out of the area, with one of the other visitors in tow...
