Strange happenings.

Since being Squired my brother an I have encountered strange things in the lands mines and caves of the sword coast.

1. we have had a memory loss, 24 hours of time missing, including our squiring.
2. we have encountered a necromancer in the caves inhabited by giberlings, That refered to herself as the knight of shalow graves.
3. I have encountered a masked man with a red hood in those same giberling caves, a man asking for a vile of blood.

There Be evil a foot on the Sword Coast, we must be vigilant.

*On the Bulletin Board outside the Keep, a writing by one of the new Squires is posted regarding the Code of Conduct all Knights and Squires of the Silver Rose lives by.*

A casual reader might think about the Code as a mere set of restrictions, ranging from impractical to downright crippling our chances to perform our duties, or at least getting in the way of doing so to the best of our abilities. I imagine many (some overtly stating as much, more so behind closed doors) think and speak of us this way: that we are dull, predictable zealots, easy to anticipate, easy to defeat.

Aside from the occasional malice involved, I believe this often stems from a misunderstanding on our role, and what we are trying to achieve. Our duty is to fight to the very end with all our hearts...not to win. Our duty is to champion Good with our lives, sacrificing them for our ideals if necessary...not to prevail, and survive. Our duty is to lead by example, to show our fellow men and women there is another way. A better way. To inspire hearts, make people believe in the better world we are trying to create and protect.

The Code is our anchor, preventing us from drifting towards evil in taking shortcuts that seem justified by our ends. The Code is our compass, helping us tread the right path, no matter how hard it seems. Because we must endeavor to save lives, and succeed in saving souls. And to save everyone else's soul, we must first and foremost guard our own.

The Code teaches me how to fight monsters without becoming one myself. It shows those around me I live and die by my faith and honor, that I am, and always will be there for them. To the end, and beyond. It makes me invincible, for even in defeat, I will have stayed true to my beliefs, my soul unconquered, a mirror image of my god and the Order. It makes me invulnerable, for even if I fall, I have become more than man: an idea that cannot be silenced, nor killed. My brothers and sisters are me, and will continue my work long after I will have become nothing but dust.

The Code does not simply help me overcome my weakness: it is my sword, my shield, my armor, my magic, my allies.

It is all my strengths.

A patrol of Silver Rose knights and squires in a tight formation, armors shining in the bright daylight, mantles flapping in the wind and weapons ready could be seen yesterday traveling from their Keep towards the Fields of the Dead. Rumor has it that a well-known crypt was cleansed from the taint of Undeath, the necromancers within dispatched for their crimes and the ground consecrated to the Triadic Gods and their allies.

A young male is sitting outside the front gates of the Silver Rose compound. He politely requests to see one of their leaders.

He is dressed in a fine mithral breastplate, wearing a full helm and carrying a tower shield. He does his best to look knightly and is very formal if addressed.

*Immediately upon hearing of the Devils and other vile creatures in the North threatening the home of their allies, En Dharash Everae the hidden Elven settlement in the North, by multiple sources, The Order of the Silver Rose dispatches a small contingent of their Elite fighting force to the North. The 10 or so Fully Armed and Armored Knights would head to the Misty Forest as far as the Elven Rangers would allow, led by one of the OSR's Trackers Knight Warrant Lady Lea. While heading through the forest they would try to be as non disruptive to forest and wild life as possible. Once close they would submit the official orders signed and stamped with the official Order of the Silver Rose insignia. They would ask the elves to give the missive to Mendel, Kael or Ithilwen of the Village.*

The Missive would state:

Dear friends and allies of the En Dharasha Everae,

I hope by the time you read this it is not too late. We have heard from our Knight General, Lady Gina who was in your village the other day as well as another Elf that has come to aid you from the Southern Village of Doron Amar, Elvalia Nightstar, that the Devils and their Vile thralls are on your doorstep threatening your peaceful village.

Commander Seth has dispatched a small contingent, 10 of our Elite fighting force to your Aid. Led by our Tracker and Scout, Knight Warrant Lady Lea. These Knights have fought in nearly every major war on the Sword Coast all the way back to the Amn/Gate war, the Black Orc War as well as the Undead War. They are yours to command and place where they are needed most. We have also supplied them with Food, Healing and other Triage related items and they are no strangers to surviving in the wilderness.

Please let us know if there is anything else you need, the rest of the Knights (PC's) are on alert and ready to come to your aid on a moment's notice.

The elf in purple, Mareth Ravenlocke, explains that she caught the dwarf with the symbol on his cloak in the act of raising the skeletal undead out by the cavern entrance nearby, and intends to leave him to the decision of the local paladin order.

Knight General Lady Missy comes forth from the keep to the crowd gathered. After introductions, Lady Missy tells Mareth, "I am afraid you may not understand what our order can and cannot do. We are not law enforcement, nor are we strictly a paladin order. Our mission is to protect the innocent peoples of the Coast from the influences of evil. We do this from our presence in the area's communities, our actions to clear known evil denizens from the area, and keep at bay those forces that would see harm done to innocents.

For us to "hold" an individual we must have conducted our own detailed investigation. Even then, we only have two choices. One, we can hand over the individual to law enforcement (such as the Fist, or the Amn army). Second, and this would indeed be extremely rare, we could exact Tyr's justice upon the proven evil doer. This would only be done in order to protect others from further immediate harm.

What we can do is take their names and descriptions and add them to our watch list. Should we catch them ourselves summoning undead, we can then act."
