A heavily armored earth genasi some may know as Ashan Wayne would be seen carrying only a single blade at his hip and a heavy looking shield as of late. He can oft been seen in or near the temple of Helm, his demeanor more solemn than it had been for a long time. Those that have known him longest might realize he seems a bit more like the man that first came to the Sword Coast in some respects than the one they had grown accustom to over the last few months.

When not about the city the genasi seems to have taken a renewed interest in his own training and the protection of the coast. Patrolling both the south toward the Lion's Way and in the north.

A note has been left on the notice board in the city

I am looking for Snow Tiger Hides, and I will make it worth your trouble if you bring me some.
Bring me at least a bundle of five, and we will work out a price.
I will be in Baldurs Gate, at Elfsong or the Minstrels Muse in the Docks District.

Signed

Fingal Darius.

four people -may- have been seen atop the east gate parapet two days back ... the day the song of love lost is heard along the wall of the city.

One of them ... a lady ... is seen climbing the parapet as if ready to jump to her death, when another wraps his arms around her tightly, not allowing her to.

The Whistling Wanderess is seen anchored back in Baldur's Gate after being away a couple of days. The sailors, being given a few days off spoke about an impromptu trip to Atkhatla. In the following days the activity on the ship is slow but steady as she's being readied for another departure.

Late in the evening, a small argument breaks out in the Helm and Cloak, between an impassive human man and a man accused of womanizing. The accused womanizer claimed to have fought against the undead, although nobody in the room could seem to recall his supposedly well-known accomplishments. The two men, as well as a woman who had been receiving the man's 'honest' compliments, exited the city through the North gate.

The two men proceeded to duel, each with a rapier. The impassive man eventually managed a disabling blow on the womanizer, but spared his life. The woman tried to spell them, which didn't work, and so instead slapped him hard enough to knock him right out.

The duel's winner accompanied her partway up the path back to the Gate before exchanging a few small words and departing.

The "songs of the city" were heard once more, near the campfire outside the East gate.

Several people were broken into tears, while many others walking by -felt- the sadness of the heart wrenching song.

A bard begins to sing of love and joy in an attempt to counter this song of love lost. They battle with song for quite some while before finally the sad song goes quiet.

Victims of the undead war? ... lost lovers? ... a young girl within the city, her throat slit?

What? who? why? there seem more questions then answers to all this.

Desrah can be seen in Baldur's Gate, speaking to a local
glass blower and discussing something seemingly tiny, cupped in her hand.

After a short conversation empty hands are shaken and he

Herran is seen up and down Baker street, greeting all he meets and inquiring about a "Jenna" who has apparently lost her son "Jero" during the plague of last year.

As he goes, he is constantly humming to himself. While there are no words sung, one would get the "feeling" of hope and courage.

The 23rd of Marpenoth saw a dark armoured man moving through the streets of the Harbour district. He bore distinctive facial scars, looking to be some sort of burns, and wore a cutlass at his side.

The man seeks out and speaks with some of the poorest of the city. To each a sum of coin would be given as payment for their talk; not a fortune by any means, but more than the information would be reasonably worth. The payments might be considered, therefore, to be small acts of charity.

(((PM me if your character would try and find out more)))

After another very short trip the Wanderess is anchored in Baldur's Gate again, the ship suffered minor damage that is being repaired by the sailors and a couple of ropes are replaced. The crew spreads the word among the sailors to be careful when near Ulgoth's Beard island at the mouth of the Chionthar as they had to fight Quelzarns there, and found a sunken ship.

A dark armoured man with facial scarring is seen entering the Merchant's league building. This is not itself unusual, as those who attend the building would know him as Talas, an employee of the Darius Holding Company. Normally, however, he merely visitsed the room the company had use of there to check post and otherwise kept to himself, his visits brief and private. This time, however, he approaches Elad and requests to speak to him, or another member of the league. The topic of conversation, it seems, is what steps to take in the event of a broken or fraudulent contract.
