Re: Rumours of Baldur's Gate
A Rumor spreads that Galen'ael Glenstalker was seen in front of the Gates of Candle Keep late at night, the moon high in the sky, his features feral and blood covering his armor and face.
He is said to have tossed the severed head of a Drow at the Gates themselves, speaking in a high tone in Druidic that the cowards of the Keep would no doubtly understand, as the Head unceremoniously lands in front of the Gates.
"If you think your walls will keep you safe you are a Fool! Open your eyes and grow a Spine! Our your tomes so important??? Worth your diginity, your honor and the lives of those you love?? Your Freedom?? Slavery and death is all that awaits you if you continue to embrace the Dhaerow!!!"
A beastial roar is said to escape his lips, part anger and frustration. He then transformed into an Elder Air Elemental and dissappeared over the Cliff...onto the very wind itself.

Rumor has it that the Ironfaar clan stronghold between Candlekeep and Beregost was overrun by trolls, umber hulks, orcs and beetles and that the Fellowship of the Sacred Bastion has reclaimed it.

Re: Rumours of Baldur's Gate
Rumor spreads that Galena'el fought the Genasi known as Jade in the Wilds near the Tradeway, south of the merchant camp.
Jade was spewing of Slander.
Galen of spewing of honor and action, while darkenss comes.
Galen was knocked unconscious and awoke severely wounded; bleeding profusely.
He spoke of learning wisdom and that Candle Keep's only hope for honor and doing the right thing might lay in a humble Ground's Keeper; Jade himself...while the rest cower and read their Tomes; thinking lofty ideals will save them.
He then limped into the Forest; a smile upon his face and no malice in his heart.

Re: Rumours of Baldur's Gate
Popular rumor states that Captain William Fredrickson of the Weave Masters, recently returned to the city after a long journey in the North, has been leading several aggressive patrols of Weave Guardians throughout the countryside south of the city. It is unknown if these patrols are merely training exercises or if they portray something more important, but on more than once occasion, Captain William and his men have returned to the city covered in quite a fair amount of blood and their arms and armor scorched and singed.

Re: Rumours of Baldur's Gate
Vicious accusations have been whispered in the dark corners of many taverns that allegedly there is a plant within the Flaming Fist. A traitor to the city and its values. Like any escalated whisper the details have become skewed and outlandish. It is rumoured that this scum bag is akin to taking bribes and turning a blind eye, feeding outlaws information on merchant trade lines, selling Fist equipment to the highest bidder, tampering with evidence and releasing conficted criminals onto the populace.
Weather or not any of these fabrications from mouth to mouth are true, one thing does raise suspicision, they all have one thing in common. Whoever this individual is, it is said that, they despise orcs and all orc kind.

Re: Rumours of Baldur's Gate
From one curious listener to the other the story is told, about a fight which happened in the Farmlands a few moons ago. They say at first there was a man, clad in black and white, looking rather angry and demanding to tell him where someone known as Seadin was. Not long after that a half-elf appeared on the road, apparently known to some but to those who didn't know him, it was a great surprise when it turned out that the half-elf was Seadin himself. It was as if the fate or the Gods' will brought him there at that particular moment.
The fight which followed almost immediately lasted only a few minutes, much to the dismay of the on-lookers who obviously were expecting an entertaining show. And once Seadin was down on the ground and no one rushed to him at once to help him on his feet, the man who defeated him, Ujio, as others addressed him, walked up to the one who lost and... relieved himself right onto his face.
After that there was a long argument, with a lot of accusations flying around, Seadin was blamed for abusing women, beating them and even the worst thing - forcing himself on them. They say, there were already two such cases. Ujio, on the other hand, was accused of having friendship with assassins and helping one of them blindly or... it was not blindly but knowingly and he, in fact was one of them? It was difficult for some spectators not to lose track of all what was said. The arguments were getting more and more heated, and the man by the name of Ujio was getting more infuriated. Another fight almost broke up. But before that Seadin chose to leave, with that ending that evening's show for the curious farmers, adventurers and other travelers alike.

Re: Rumours of Baldur's Gate
A rumor floats around the Elf song that a rather large coin purse has been left for Ujio.
Many speculate if the rumor of the package is true. Others assume right away that it must be payment for a recent task to which he was assigned by one of the cities darker factions.

Re: Rumours of Baldur's Gate
Rumors swirl around the city amoungst the commoners that an unknown enemy has infiltrated various parts of the goodly factions of the City...The Fist...and espeically the Weavemasters who are reeling; with the Exarch missing and the Weave Captain and a few trusted men barely holding Istari tower together.
Rumors swirl that Ambassador Galen'ael of the Circl has called for a meeting...Twice...with the Dukes to address the issues. He is rumored to have left word with Eltan himself, but was told he was away from the city on business. And that he still waits for a summons to speak with the Council of Four.
The commoners wonder, worry and speak in low-tones in the fields and in the taverns....
"What will they do?"
"What is going on?"
"What darkness is this???"
Rumors spread that it might be Drow and their sympathasizers or that a new threat is rearing it's head...

The theater sits with its doors closed.
Old issues of The Baldur's Gate Gazette are used as kindling.
Someone, somewhere, mentions that a young couple's honeymoon may have ended in tragedy, but nothing else is known.
Life in Baldur's Gate continues undisturbed.

Re: Rumours of Baldur's Gate
There has been talk in the city lately of a new group of bandits who have been preying on travelers near the Wood of Sharp Teeth…
Apparently, a gang of very professional thugs and highway men have been laying intricate ambushes in the Sharp Teeth’s verdant shadows, stealing both gold and supplies from hapless adventurers. Those that have refused to submit to their demands are rumored to be harshly beaten, or worse…
The most startling rumor about these bandits however, is that several of their number seem to use both the arms and amour of the Flaming Fist and the Weave Masters of Baldur’s Gate. It is unknown how such equipment has made its way into the hands of such savage brigands, but something most foul is suspected by many, and theories and suspicions swirl about the streets like wildfire.

A large figure can be seen walking through the forest after the rumors spread, the metal on his armor scraping with each step and his cruel looking morningstar and shield in each hand.
He wanders the woods, searching for those who dare to disturb order upon His lands...

Re: Rumours of Baldur's Gate
Many travelers rush into the farmlands out of breath. Word is that huge swarms of hunched little blue creatures that make mad chattering noises have been plaguing the hill country during the night.
Travelers are warned to be ever watchful and stay in groups.
