I have heard a knock spell also works, never tried it though.

Yes, I picked it, thanks! Too bad they removed all the medium-to-high-end gear, only the low remains...

Yes, as it SHOULD be on a LOW MAGIC server.

Ah, but a "low magic server" should not have such a massive selection of high level scrolls available in numerous shops. Nor should it have such a short rest timer and the ability to rest in most locations of the game. Personally I consider this a "medium magic server" where the current items are a bit underpowered.

Keep in mind that this is a male-run, mage-run city and having Illithid and Beholder merchants doing a brisk trade means that scrolls will be much more readily available than they might be in other "low-magic" servers.

By their nature, Drow are in a magic-rich environment.

I don't have a problem with the way the gear or scroll availability is in the Underdark at all. It seems fairly well thought-out to me.

My $0.02 :)

So you think 20 min is a short time to wait hmmm ok, well when my rest fails due to a random spawn on top of me, the next 20 min don't feel very short.

As for scroll availability, think again. There are MANY high level scrolls missing and ALL lvl 9 spells are not available in the UD, unless you buy from my toon Amon :D .

The rest system will all know is not going to be the final system. The devs from what I hear are still working this one out. I personally liked the MoB rest system as there was a chance it could be interupted and you could be in serious.... *explicit*. However, yea, I would like to set up the UD as a mostly no rest place with certain areas being semi safe rest areas, some better than others.

For a MEDIUM Difficulty server, like no permadeath, no deleveling, etc.., this is considered low magic. For a Hard Core server things would be different and if that is your cup of tea, by all means drink up.

There is a massive thread discussing the resting system and timer, so no need to get into that here.

If I am not mistaken, you have been on this server for around two months, and you have already managed to acquire all but ~10 of the wizard spells available. I just don't think that it is realistic that a wizard could know 95% of the spells in existence and yet no one managed to figure out how to enchant items above +3? Fortunately a whole bunch of new items recently got added, some of them reasonably powerful.

Not my fault I am a good trader :D , but no I am still missing more than 10 spells, 22 to be exact. Can't learn any divine ones though so they are not on my list.

Don't forget that I am retired and only do part time volunteer research so I have alot more time to game than most people, and have put more time in those 2 month and some weeks than some have put in over 6 months or more time. Would be cool to see how many total hours you have put in.

Perhaps a few scrolls could be removed, and have the scrolls up on the surface be different from those in the UD.

Hello all,

My character name in-game is Caesar Tir'el'ren, I am a drow male ranger (sure, I suppose its cliche>> have to love Drizzt ;) ) Anyhow I'm only lvl 1 and you'll find me battling beetles to make some money and level up. I am very interested in joining Bregan D'aerthe, but I'd like to explore a bit first. I'll certainly keep in touch about the Bregan D'aerthe interest I have. I hope to see you all in-game.

Take care,

Ken

Hi.

Mostly I almost never entered the forum for RP posts, which I feel sorry about. For now I am really enjoying playing UD PC, Eowiewiel E'lenor, a favored soul of Eilistraee. The idea was burned when I heard the sad tale of destruction of the cult of the Dark Maiden. I am fired up and abandoned my previous PC Eflir Lassrinnuss D'vlos, which hardly matters to me due to some RP details I could not make reality. She is now nearly tenth lv and soon when I will find allies, I will make the cult reborn to lead the followers to the surface, taking out the willing to be free one by one. I hope that I will prevail and the cult will flourish. For long time I am fed up by typical Lolthites and they simply bore me to death. Now it is time for me to find allies to help me with dream of peace with other races and return to the ancient ways of the elves before the Descent and Crown wars.

I recently made a drow druid and it seems I have very limited deity choices, none of which are drow deities. Is it possible lore-wise for her to follow a drow deity? Thanks!

Were it me, I would say that out of the drow pantheon, Ghaunadaur is the most likely option, an "adopted" god of outcasts, rebels, and things that ooze. If you are willing to play a more goodly drow, Eilistraee may be worth considering, for her "hunting", "moonlight", and "beauty" portfolio inclusions.

But in terms of a Dark Seladrine god(dess) suited to druids?

There's not any specific one that favors nature in terms of the Underdark.

Well, technically an evil druid could be spun to any faith, but there's a lot of nuances that could be accounted for in each.

But I have a feeling this is more of a mechanical issue for Gwynn, where due to the class they lack the option to choose any drow gods due to the "forced selection" of druids. Which is pretty unfortunate. :<
